  1. Nope, there isn't a need to buy anything fishing related if you think about it. We don't technically need to fish at all. I have bought several 15 dollar baits and I do not regret any of my purchases. To me it just makes the sport more fun and appealing overall. If you feel like you do not need the expensive stuff then don't sweat it. There are plenty of fish to be caught on the cheap lures.
  2. I too have found some really nice things just hanging in places that are easy to get to. Last year, my buddy found a perfect Terminator spinner bait sitting in an area where two branches fork in a tree. It was not hung at all.
  3. 1. Purple Perch. 2. Whatever else looks pretty to you.
  4. What the F... That was freakin hilarious!
  5. I learned to worm fish with Berkley Power Worms. Caught my first keeper on them too. That said, I rarely use them any more. I sometimes fish a power lizard but that is about all I use from Berkley. I use Zoom 99% of the time. I like Zoom's limitless color options.
  6. Agreed. While losing lures sucks, its all part of the sport. I very rarely lose a crankbait or spinnerbait. I lose Jigs, T-Rigs and that sort all the time. No biggie.
  7. That is seriously messed up...
  8. Yeah me too... At least 2 lbs, maybe three. :-X lol. You crack me up! ;D
  9. I am as potty mouthed as anyone but I would never use foul language in a public setting in front of children. I agree that this was a poor decision on Murphy's part.
  10. As it has already been said, you just have to go fish. The more you are out there, the more you start to feel the subtle differences between fish and other objects. Grass and weeds are the hardest to learn by far. Keep at it and when you think you might have a fish, sweep that rod to the side and see.
  11. That reminds me of 15 years ago...
  12. As someone else mentioned, it could be braid slipping if that is what you have. Whoever serviced it may have added grease to the drag washers as well. I am sure someone will correct me otherwise but I believe the Revo's use dry drag washers and greasing them will result in a loss of total drag power.
  13. I wouldn't fish for anything else...
  14. Most of the newer hooks are coated and it takes forever for them to rust out. It will probably be alright though but don't ever count on a hook rusting out because it takes a long time to occur. A good way to not hook a Senko fish deep is to ALWAYS watch your line. Set the hook as soon as you see your line do anything unnatural. Bigger bass will inhale the lure causing your line to jump slightly. Stick them then and you should get them in the lip and not the gullet.
  15. That is pretty awesome! Congratulations.
  16. These definitely look worth trying!
  17. LMAO Cart! I have no idea who makes them. When someone finds out, will you tell them to quit making the rods so danged heavy these days. They used to be much lighter.
  18. Yea, I am one of em.
  19. T-Rig that is a really odd bass. Its built more like a crappie.
  20. Pinky, not much has changed since you were in college.
  21. Just an assumption based on Bass Pro products in general.
  22. That's enough to make me not print the coupon and go buy Bojangle's or Lee's Famous Recipe instead. I will meet you there.
  23. That's just how it goes. Not buying any tackle though? Wow.
