  1. Another difference is in the dorsal fin. Largemouths' dorsal fins dip down in the middle and almost look like two different fins while a spot's dorsal will clearly be attached and be one solid fin
  2. nice one Paul! got some worm fishin done myself yesterday in that lunker lake where Rob pulled out that hawg... didn't see any bucketmouths but i stuck 12 smaller ones... not a bad day
  3. I stumbled upon this video while surfin the net and my friend and I watched it about 10 times cuz we liked it so much. Hope y'all do too
  4. Nice! Never woulda guessed at that either! I love fishin Lanier for spots but that must have been a nice lil surprise
  5. ROB! Love the slideshow! I'm makin one of my own and I'll put it up here. Man that thing makes us look like hawg slayers, toad stickers, bucketmouth bootleggers, pig whackers.... i dunno all of that good stuff... its aws
  6. haha nice trip. did a little tubin and fishin myself over the weekend... no hybrids though, just a few small largemouths. good pics
  7. Hahahahahahaaa siiiighh.... you better get used to that buddy, it happens. Spawn in over... at least it has been long over down south... it was water, don't worry. Lots of times if you hold a fish by the midsection of something like that you'll get a lil' squirt of clear H2O and if you're REALLY lucky the fish will start crappin out waste. I've been crapped on, peed on, ejaculated on, and... egged on (i guess) by umpteen bass... (not to mention bled on). You should probably get used to that kinda stuff
  8. good job, rob. we already talked about this but I am definitely coming out there with you next time. wanted to but i had to go up to hartwell... nothing good came outa there... congrats again man
  9. nice bucketmouth you got there. good job
  10. I saw it on here already but I wanna give another recommendation to Sowbelly. I love that book and have read it almost 4 times. If you like big bass fishing than you will love this look into the lives of the best big bassers in the world and the big bass scene
  11. wow, pretty intense.... Normally it's the other way around! I'll stick to my Original Fishing Snakes though.
  12. Don't buy a lure just because it is expensive or looks cool!!!! That doesn't mean it will automatically catch fish!
  13. imagine the bass you would catch with that thing!
  14. haha you know i'm just bustin your chops rob... and you know how i like to be precise and stuff... P.S. still doesn't work out with 22 inches... hahahaha
  15. Hey Rob, are you ABSOLUTELY SURE that the bass was 18 to 20 inches long? If so, the bass would have to be around 33 inches in girth to come to 9 pounds...... I don't think it was almost two times around as it was long....
  16. I could go with the 22 inches... but I find it very hard to believe there was a 5 pounder.. .much less an 11. The lake was drained and restocked WAY too recently to grow any fish of that size even in perfect conditions. The bass in those pics look all of 3 or 4 pounds; very good for the amount of time the bass have had to grow. As for the 11, I don't believe it a bit... unless by some off chance somebody transplanted a very large bass into Murph which I highly doubt
  17. just kiddin rob, nice fish!
  18. ...you sure it wasn't an upside down 6?
  19. nice fish man! pb's are great
  20. well at least ONE of the responses wasn't a joke....
  21. NICE! fish of that size are always fun, no matter if its the same fish or not! I've caught the same fish four times in a row before... but sadly it only weighed about 1.5 lbs
  22. About that trolling motor.... have you ever heard of a power pole? A bunch of guys on the pro circuit are starting to use them to keep still on a windy day. They were originally made for the flats down in Florida and stuff but they work great for bass fishing and are durable as anything. I could use... A mono that doesn't twist -A braid that ties better and doesn't cut into the spool -any easily used swimbait that is not too small but not the size of those whole trout they are throwin out west (not live i mean) -A suspending rattle trap... that would be cool ... (i know i could probably find some of this stuff but it aint easy when you're on the budget of a highschool sophomore!)
  23. There is all this fuss about alternative energy sources coupled with the rising gas prices and the impending truth that there is a limited supply of the stuff on the planet. Inovations have been made in hydrogen powered cars and whatnot, but what about boats? Will there be alternative fuels for boats soon? I haven't heard anything about it, have you?
  24. wow, paul, what a resopnse! I know i'm not alone, it just feels like it sometimes when all that stuff you said happens!
