  1. Weightless tubes can be deadly on shallow bass. Most 4" tubes will rig nicely on a 3/0 EWG hook.

My brother in law. On St. Patrick's Day. We're an Irish family. We weren't a happy bunch. Until my other brother in law and I made an after dinner liquor store run and started a parking lot party in the freezing cold.
  3. Her name is Tal Wilkenfeld. Has only been playing bass for five years and here she is jamming with one of the greats in Chicago. Wow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV7OAWs2Q30
  4. I've read that it doesn't matter because, it will correct itself when the motor is run for the first time after the change but I will probably do that anyway. It will correct itself. When we change them on the diesels, we give the impeller a light coat of clear grease or vaseline before installing it. It gives it a bit of lubrication until it picks up the water. ALWAYS inspect the housing and cam.
  5. WARNING!! whatever you do don't say "They look good in that pot of sauce" or Muddy will be along to tell you it's called "gravy" ;D
  6. Funny as hell but true. Tonight is back to school night at my daughters' middle school. My wife dreads this night because she thinks I pick on the staff because I ask a lot of questions and (respectfully) criticize what I think are asinine policies or procedures. My big sore point is the practice that's prevalent in public schools of allowing disruptive kids to remain in class while they are given every leeway. I'm sure some of them have genuine problems but the majority of them just need a good old fashioned a** kicking. Fat chance that's gonna happen.
  7. It's the big story here. They live in my neck of the woods.
  8. Then you have to try the BBQ ones mmmmmmmmm!!
  9. A couple of years ago I got on an ultra light kick just to mix things up. It was very successful for me and I still fish it often. This year I learned a couple of new baits as I was getting tired of the same old same old. I doubt fishing will ever get old for me for a couple of reasons. Work and family obligations keep me off of the water except for a few hours on the weekend. Also being shut down when the lakes freeze in the winter only stokes the fire even more.
  10. Happened out here. We had a pond go to crap in two seasons because of this.
  11. Yup, let them have the good stuff. The Zebco's are still kept in service for when a real little one (6-7 years old) tags along.
  12. It's been twenty years since my trip but I'll never forget it. Fighting a tuna for 10 - 15 minutes until you can see him and then he spools your a** and you gotta do it all over again Good luck. I hope you hit 'em hard.
  13. Around here it's mostly Dick's and Sports Authority. Dick's is the better choice of the two and even then it depends on which one you go to. Mom and pop stores come and go around here. Mostly cater to the bait guys and are out of business within a year... :-/
  14. Two day trip ?? The captain should give you all the advice you need as far as what clothes to bring, food, etc. TIP - keep a change of dry clothes and shoes in the car for the ride home. If your going to drink, keep it to a minimum. Tip any crew or mates that assist you on the trip. Follow Snook's advice. How many people are going ? When I went on my tuna trip years ago, it was on a smaller boat with one fighting chair. There were six of us. We drew numbers out of a hat to determine who got in the chair first, second and so on. Two of the guys got so drunk they never got their chance at a fish. Tough luck, more fish for us. That's why I said to keep the alcohol to a minimum. Get plenty of rest before you go. I don't know if you've ever been out that far for that long, it can beat the crap out of you. Good luck !! I hope you get to hook into one. It's like nothing you've ever experienced.
  15. Uhhhh please tell us this isn't you.... http://peopleofwalmart.com/?p=2101
  16. 45 year old adult film stunt double. My screen name is Beef Jerky...... 8-)
  17. No wonder aliens or other intelligent life won't come here...... :
  18. We've done three adults plus gear in my 14' Alumnacraft jon. The boat itself was capable of carrying the weight plus it was a calm day. The act of fishing sucked that day for obvious reasons. I would never do it again but technically we did it. Two people on a 10' is probably doable as long as one guy always knows what the second guy is going to do. Ya gotta communicate.
  19. I know that feeling. What would have been possibly an 8lb + fish for me picked up a tube so lightly I barely noticed it. Lost him during the fight when he jumped but that's another sob story :'(
  20. Doubtful. Discharge from toilets, sinks, etc. do not go from the drain directly into waterways. It goes through sewage treatment plants that for the most part disharge water into waterways that is cleaner than what is naturally in the waterway to begin with.
  21. It's a toss up between topwater and a reaction strike underwater. As I fish mostly at night, I rarely get to see that 'boil' in the water right before a topwater assault. I like that a lot !!
  22. d**n !! Took the words right out of my mouth. Right on. The people who produce those shows should be made to sit in a room ala Clockwork Orange with their eyes forced open and watch their own crap for an eternity...........
  23. I'm convinced you could bungee cord a trashcan to some people and they would STILL find a way to litter. It's part of the 'no responsibility' society we live in.
  24. Sometimes clicking and chattering relays are an indication of a problem with the ground circuit.
  25. I was wonderin' the same thing......
