  1. Uh none of you guys ever hear of Miley....barf......Hannah......gag......Cyrus..........hurl.......Montana.......gag. This chick is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated and can't sayng either.
  2. We talking about the double tail or single tail grub here?
  3. Extreme. Get two or three, you'll be happy. Or.......just give in and get a Citca D or E model. Ebay's prices on these are hard to beat. I see you like Pfluegers as well, ever think about the LP Trion?
  4. I haven't thrown a jig all year yet, so it and a few pop-r, chug bug, and jerkbaits will get a work out soon. My favorite spring and fall bait is a crankbait though. 1-minus, Norman Fat Boys, Bandit 200's. Man I need to get on the water!
  5. The Daiwa Team-V rods at Wal-Mart are pretty fine rods for the money. They are extremely sensitive for the price.
  6. Think I'll go with Pline CXX 12# Crystal Clear. I'll put Yozuri Ultra Soft 6# on my spinning reels.
  7. Looks like Copolymer is the big winner so far. I'm really torn between Yozuri and Pline CXX right now though. Leaning towards the Pline though. Got the reel spooled up with Big Game 12# in the meantime. Already casted a few times in the yard.....Suhweeeeet! Much smaller than my D models and casts as good or better. The Citicas are the only BC reels I've found that are virtually backlash free........no kidding, casted a snipped-hook 1/4 oz. finesse jig yesterday for practice. never a backlash even after I reset the brakes to 2 on only. Love these reels!
  8. Ebay.................. http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-2009-Curado-CU200E7-baitcasting-reel-NEW-RH-E7_W0QQitemZ320301615980QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320301615980&_trkparms=72%3A1205|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  9. I've heard both good and bad reports on the P-line CXX. Some say the line memory is just too much to handle. How about after a few casts? Does it absorb water at all? The Yozuri is one I've already considered. 15# for the Citica and 6# for my spinning reels. So P-line or Yozuri? Which color guys? Lots of clear water here in OKlahoma.
  10. Curado E series, E5 and E7, new for 2009 are going for $159.99 shipped on Ebay.
  11. I've got four Citica 200D models. Three CI200D (110 yds. 14 lb.) and one DPV model. Once you get them on your rod and start fishing with them, you don't really notice the extra size or weight. They actually fit the hand very well and are smooth, quiet, and powerful. I like the heck out of mine. Also have a new E model sitting at the PO right now. I'll post here about it after I get it used a little.
  12. The Cruxis is the bottom end of the aluminum framed reels by Shimano. It's just above the top-end graphite framed reel, the Chromica, this is 2008 line info. The new E series Curados and Citicas have been streamlined to lose the weight that most complained about in the D models. The Citica suffering the most cuts from the D series, lost the aluminum side plates and one bearing. I still don't think the Cruxis would compare to the New Citica E though. But check Ebay for a Cruxis, they're pretty cheap there.
  13. What about mono? It was a multi-purpose line when that's all there was.
  14. Bought a brand new Citica 200E off of Ebay for $114.99 shipped! Should be here in tomorrow's mail. This will be an "all purpose reel" due to the 6.2:1 gear ratio, what I wanted. It'll be used for everything from frogs and poppers to cranks running depths of 1 minus to 8 feet. Also for weightless Senkos, Trick worms and light T-Rigs. Maybe even the occasional 1/4 - 1/2 oz. spinnerbait. So should I pick braid, flourocarbon, co-polymer, or just stick with my ole stand-by......Trilene Big Game 12 lb.?
  15. Bluegils are ususally the fish that take the tails off of plastics. Very small bass will too.
  16. Beechnut, RedMan, or Union Standard. There's a scent experiment I'd like to see someone try. ;D
  17. Back to the topic at hand. Best low budget rod I've found for soft plastics is the Daiwa Team-V series from Wal-Mart. At around $50 each I have three. Two medium action and one medium/heavy. The medium/heavy is perfect for T-Rigs and weighted plastics. The medium actions work great for weightless Senkos and the like.
  18. Just slowly release the monkey's tail friend. That's it.....just let go......it's ok. ;D ;D ;D
  19. I've yet to try it, but I really like this idea. http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/38/montajes005md7.jpg Check it out in this post. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1214823993
  20. I've been checking out reels in this price range all this year and have gathered quite a bit of info from here and other forums. I've handled all the reels I am going to suggest also. Here are my objective suggestions in order. 1. Citica 200D (not DSV) These are awesome! They do weigh a little more than some of the other brands in this price range but when you have them on the rod you don't really notice it that much. Quiet, smooth, and easily adjustable. I throw weightless senko types with mine all the time, also lots and lots of baits in the 1/4 -1/2 oz. range. 2 brakes on in no wind, 3 on in moderate wind, 4 on in strong wind. Seldom ever get backlashes and if I do it is usually my fault. This is the only one of the suggestions of which I actually own at the moment and so thus the #1 rating. 2. Daiwa Exceler 100H. I've got a thread going on this one here now. Check it out. From previous knowledge acquisitions, I've learned that these are fine choices for the weight ranges I like to throw. Same reels as the Procaster Rojos without the flipping switch. The Rojo wouldn't be a bad choice either so I'll include it with this one. And hey, they're Daiwas, my second choice in BC reels just behind Shimanos. Google them and learn more. 3. Bass Pro Shops Extreme Bait Casters. Nothing but good reviews on these anywhere you look. Sure there are lemons in every lot, but this is true with all other reel manufacturers too. I don't believe these are as good for light weight lures as the first two but definitely a reel worth the bucks. As has been already mentioned, sales on these are pretty regular and picking one up then would be the way to go. They also make a really small version - the ETX05HB - if you thought you might want to work it into your arsenal. Search here on the forum and also at Bass Pro's website. These feel really good in your hands too. 4. Abu Garcia Silver Max. Probably not as good for lighter weights but the general opinion of all who have them is that they are great for pitching and flipping and cranks and spinnerbaits. Just under the ProMax and just above the BlackMax, it's a great Abu Garcia in a medium price range. Many have compared them to the Revo S and say they are almost as great as those reels are. They do have the same look and feel. A google search on this one will tell ya more also. 5. Quantum Accurist 500PT. Not much of a Quantum fan but the reviews on this one are pretty decent also. Just be sure not to get this PT confused with the regular Accurists which come in blue, red, and silver I think. Most places have these marked down to the $80 ranges now for closeout. Google on this one too. 6. Gander Mountain Guide Series reels are said to be made by Pflueger and are pretty nice feeling and smooth operators too. The warranty issue would come into play on these though. I wouldn't pick any of 'em up unless I had a Gander close by for refunds or replacements.
  21. I'm likin' what I'm hearing so far.
  22. These have been out a while now. What's the consensus on them? I'm thinking on purchasing a couple to try out. I'm pretty impressed with the fact that there's a burner 7.1:1 in the group. I've heard that they're very nice reels for the $70 price range.
  23. Ya know it actually sounds like you have a faulty reel there bud. Try returning it or exchanging it. Might just be the problem.
