most of the time I trim them 1/4-1/2 past the hook. Why. Got no clue. :-?

Anyone have these two and compare them? Is that 2" difference really worth it. I've owned a BCR854 for several years and familiar with it but I'm wanting to see if the little length would be benificial in hooksetting. I dont want to jump past 7'3" because of length. I also want to double up and use this rod for smaller swimbaits. I also own a BCR855. If I make the jump to 7'3" should I get the 875 also?

What size traps you mostly throw? Reason for asking right now I throw a 7' rod and I can cast the lure farther then I can get a good hookset at. I'm hoping I can increase hookset distance by atleast 20 ft or more. Ultra clear water.

any good 2 part epoxy will work. It doesnt have to be devcon. I hear super glue gel works but I dont use it.
