What all good fishing lakes are in the KC area? I know there is Smithville real close but is there any others even in Kansas?

Dont take this the wrong way but I think its wouldnt make any difference with or without eyes. Honestly I'd take some red paint and and a fine brush and make them on there. Anyway with the surface area on there I'd get some of the smallest ones I could find.

buy a few footballs for rocks, eakins for all around and some grass jigs. That way your set up. Best all around color. Black/blue for me. Clear water PBJ 1/4-3/8 for light line, clear or shallow water 3/8-1/2 is best all around size.

for an all around profile I like an angular head. Something bullet styled or comes to a little bit of a point. For me they fish good in all types of structure and really good in grass.

Where would you put an eye on a football jig? Never seen that mold before.

If you can afford it buy a stainless. You and your boy will be better off. They do not rust as easily. Burley is right. When you purchase one look at how easily it disassembles. They have come along way. TC's are some of the easiest.

You haven't adjusted for risk. When something happens or you have to dip into those investments for cover a layoff or something, you'll get hit with about a 40% tax and penalty.... in the end, the debt free guy usually comes out ahead. Plus, the extra money freed up each month from payments, can be added to any investments- which will usually make up for any short term missed investment while getting out of debt. To be a hypocrite I see both these views and they both make perfect sense. If I sink 1k into a bond making more then that 1k on my payment its money well made. But IMO I'd rather free up that intrest money then invest heavily. It does all come down to one thing. Intrest rate of incoming and outgoing debt. There is a balance. But if this young man is getting ready to move into the big world of House, car, utilities, etc. I personally think getting rid of as much debt is the best way for now. Become riskier as he becomes more stable with payments and job. Just my personal opinion I'd still pay off the loan quickly unless there is something you have with a higher intrest in your payments. Make principle payments if possible.(key) Always remember, Make your money work for you. Look to see where your money will make the highest return. Fletchero, I totally agree. black or black/blue is probably the best go. Dont forget white. I typically do this with tubes instead of jigs. SOmetimes its a killer.

I would do a little of both with the main focus of the loans. Just from reading your post your loans are probably high. Something you cant pay off in a couple years. I'd focus on paying those off but also save some. This way you will have some money to fall back on if something happens. I am one of those people who hates debt. I hate the intrest rates. To me intrest is a waste of money. I buy something for 500+ intrest and pay 700 for it. Not my style. I'd rather save and pay 500 for it later. Just how I work. Always have.
