  1. I had another good day with them yesterday. If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend you do. 9 fish on one bait and counting.
  2. Has anyone tried the Tru Tungsten Depth Shad? I fished with them over the weekend and had good success. I like this bait much more than a super fluke, the only problem is the price (3 for $9). I will say that I only used one and caught five fish on it. It's still in good shape for continued use. If it continues to produce well, I'll have to get some of that swimbait superglue to repair any tares. I did a search and didn't find any info on them so I wanted to see what others think.
  3. I'm thinking about buying a new spinning reel and wanted to see if anyone has experience with one or both of these reels. Let me know what you recommend. Thanks, -Rob
  4. Are you fishing the Potomac Teams this weekend?
  5. Size 6 is smaller than 4...do you use smaller hooks on bigger baits? I assume you just got them backwards.
  6. I'm picking some up today!
  7. After fishing some neighborhood ponds over the weekend without success, I finally hooked up yesterday! The thing is, it happened when I least expected it. I picked up a new Lucky Craft Pointer 78 yesterday and decided to give it a try. I had not changed line since last year which I soon found out was a mistake...or was it? I make a cast into a corner of one of the ponds and I get a backlash. While trying to pick the backlash out, I realize my line broke on the spool during the backlash. I start hand pulling in the pointer and wadding up the line in my hand. When my jerkbait was about 5 feet from shore I feel resistance and then shaking! I immediately start laughing. I pulled the fish in by hand. Even though it was just a little over a pound and I didn't actually get to reel it in, it still felt good. I also learned that maybe I should be fishing a little slower than I was. Nothing like that has ever happened to me before. It sort of reminded me of the fish Ike caught when his line broke and he jumped in the water to grab the line and hand reel the fish in. My story wasn't as dramatic, but it still made me laugh.
  8. amazing. x2 for the beaver. Lake Fork trophy lures craw tube. Best of both worlds. Absolutely love it. x2 on the Lake Fork Craw Tubes.
  9. Well my ride backed out so it doesn't look like I'll be going after all. We were going to be launching out of Lake Anna State Park. My tournament next weekend is on the hot side out of a private residence. Anyone else interested in going out this weekend?
  10. Found a ride on another forum!
  11. If anyone is planning a trip to the Potomac or somewhere else local this weekend and you would like some company, let me know. It's going to be beautiful this weekend. -Rob
  12. Does Hank smell like C'mere Deer?
  13. I find myself on youtube all the time looking for instructional videos. I think it would be great to have them. And even a place to comment so we can discuss if we agree with their technique.
  14. You're right, Virginia does have citizens arrest however it's only for felonies.
  15. I dont understand..Why cant they grab and stop them? I'm glad i didnt work there, i would of tackled them thinking i was doing a good deed! Unless you're a police officer it wouldn't be prudent to touch them. Many stores won't even let their employees touch people who are stealing from them for fear of lawsuits. My brother had a idiot roomate in college who was caught stealing whole beef tenderloins from Harris Teeter. One of the employees tackled him from behind outside and he busted his chin open. The police came and arrested him. Once their corporate management got wind of how he was apprehended, Harris Teeter quickly apologized and agreed to dropped the charges if he agreed not to press charges against them (something he never even threatened).
  16. As disrespecful as it was, I couldn't help but laugh! It wouldn't have been wise for anyone from the store to touch those kids. Bass Pro would be in bigger trouble than the kids.

  18. How much for how many?
  19. thanks man. avatar fish went 13 lbs. 8 oz. caught feb. '06 on a jig and brush hog here in the great state of tennessee out of a sunken treetop in about 12 feet of water. second biggest bass i ever caught. quickly released after the picture. if this fish is still alive today, she could easily be a swimming state record. Do all of those pigs come out of the same body of water or are you fishing different locations? That's truly amazing. Great job man.
  20. Beautiful fish! Great job. Tell us about the fish in your avatar.
  21. Unless you're expecting toothy critters, there is no need for a leader. I'm pretty sure you won't encounter many on Wylie. Ditto on the jerk bait. Fish it with long pauses between jerks.
  22. That's a pig! Great job!
  23. I remember having a similar problem with a 1/2 oz. last year. I think I used pliers to bend the wire that the o-ring attaches to but I can't remember now.
