Why That Open Space On Some Of The Rod Handles?!
I respectfully disagree. I played ball for years and cast with 2 hands like I hold a baseball bat. I do not like split grips and don't think I will ever get used to them. I've never seen a baseball bat that had a thinner section between the butt and the barrel. They taper down to a uniform 7/8" or 1" diameter and then have the butt at the end. I see what you are trying to say though and I do not think that's the reason for a split grip. Can't be for weight. Maybe just something new to spice things up? The world may never know.

What's Yer Favorite Craw?
Any craw will work as long as it's a Rage Craw in Falcon Lake Craw color. I'm not too fussy. Will be throwing it keel-weighted as I'm sure alot of other guys will be too! (Darn Steezy)

Spool Pin Removal Tool Review
Don't engineers tend to overdesign things and make them cost 20X what they are really worth? An awful lot of good inventions have come from an average Joe getting fed up with something and saying " there has to be a better way " My engineering staff would have taken a month and 10 meetings to design this.

Buck Perry Home Study Program?
I recall some time ago in my youth (I won't date myself) reading that Buck came up to my neck of the woods and spent a week fishing the Fox Chain O' Lakes. At the time, the lakes were supposedly fished out. Undoubtedly the bank beaters were having trouble catching anything worth talking about. Buck caught stringers of huge bass and pike and people were amazed. These are natural lakes and I'm sure he was spending most of his time trolling the weedlines. My biggest muskie to date came trolling a spoonplug in 17 feet of water off the deep weedline of a bowl shaped natural lake. If I recall, he put more emphasis on fishing and eliminating water until you find fish. On lakes where the weeds stop growing at 15 feet, that's where you start. I also recalled the Lindner boys fishing the same bodies of water in their "barnstorming" days and opening everyones eyes to not only the amazing bass but walleye potential of these waters. I remember actually speaking to Buck on the phone some years ago and I asked him why he put such flimsy hooks on such great baits. His reply was "if you're fishing these in the correct spots, you're going to get hung up alot and with these hooks you can pull and straighten them out". Not sure what he based the deep to shallow migration theory on. Maybe that he hit a couple of shallow feeding periods in the day but had steadier success in deep water. We'll never know. anyway, read the books. You won't be disappointed.

Inconsiderate Fisherman
Same here on the smaller lakes. Most guys are used to close quarters and are pretty good about etiquette. They will pull in behind you but occasionally I've had guys pull in a few casts ahead of me. I just fire up the big and lay a hole shot past them and wave as I go buy. Doesn't happen twice in the same day. Usually I pass guys going the other way and there is always some cordial talk. I did have a guy pull up behind me and I got 2 on a worm so I stopped to thoroughly fish the area and he went past me and sarcastically said "I guess this is your spot" As I set the hook and landed my fourth keeper from the spot I unhooked it and said "yeah, I guess it is" and kept fishing.

You're Invited to the 6th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Man, I was saying the whole trip if only there was another foot or two of water, there would be a ton of good stuff in good water, not 6 inches. Guess I got my wish in spades. When it starts to drop back down I bet the lake will be on fire. Big-O will probably make a trip to do some flippin. Be safe all.

Finally got my pictures off my camera which got ruined. Hooked this guy and finally thought I had my double digit largemouth. Anyway, great fight in 3 feet of water. I know Big-O wanted to catch one of these almost as much as a 6lb. Smallie. Here's some from Saturday in 30 MPH winds and rain: Next year.

Another Strike King Wonder Blunder!
Please post a picture of the 2.5's and the 1.5 in the same shot. Also, where did you get the other cranks in bluegill color. I haven't found them anywhere and would like to get some. If you think there is a problem, I would contact Strike King as they are pretty responsive and will help you out. See SwimJigs pic. The baits I have look exactly the same but if you put it in water, the stripes appear. If you have a fishtank, drop one in there and look at it.

Another Strike King Wonder Blunder!
The 1.5 and 2.5 in bluegill are translucent, like a few other colors. This is not a mistake. The catalog shows the color bluegill as "coming soon" There is a picture of it in a redeye shad. It is translucent also. It looks different in a picture than it does when you see it up close. The 3 other baits in the original picture are not bluegill color. Great bait in a great color.

All I can say is WOW, what a great trip. Got to see some old friends and meet some new ones. Despite 20 mph winds every day, still caught lots of fish and worked on different techniques. Fished with Oteymc first day and caught 'em pretty good cranking the rip rap. Thought I finally got my double digit but it was a massive drum. Then got to spend a day flipping with Big-O and we found the "turbalicious" smallie hole. It was like a day at school on the water. Flippin' 101 Swapped some pretty good stories too. Got a real nice smallie: I said 4.5 and Big-O said 5 so I'll defer to him and say 5 lb. Then fished with Bud. Threw nothing but Space Monkeys and had a great day. I think Bud knows more about the lake than the Corps of Engineers. What a wealth of information. Had the pleasure of landing one close to 6 lb. for him. Then got to fish with Fishing Rhino and Alpster. Rhino kicked our butts with his drop shot wacky rig but we caught up after we started using shakey heads. Great day. (Hows the thumb Ronnie?) Then went out with Long Mike. We caught a few on the main lake but decided it wasn't worth fighting the wind. Hit some sheltered spots with a shakey head and got into 'em pretty good. I think I even saw Mike smile once or twice. Then I finally got to fish with Simp after plans changed almost every day. We went over to Barkley and got a mixed bag on a variety of techniques. Simp got a real nice one flipping a crankbait into the trees. Then before leaving I got to fish with Deb. She whupped my behind but we had a great time. Greg is one very lucky guy. After having some Bar-B-Que and shooting the breeze at Fisherman's Headquarters, left for home. Some pix to follow, but my camera died after getting wet Saturday. Can't wait for next year!

Thanks Deb. Mike has been kind enough to help me out, unless he gets stopped at the border. You need to talk to the boss and get him to stock the stuff. If nothing else, you'll get more traffic due to people thinking it's an Italian restaurant!
