Anyone that hasn't left for the Roadtrip yet I desperately need your help. I just found out I'm out of Chartreuse JJ's Magic. If anyone has an extra bottle or might be passing by an open tackle shop that carries it, I would appreciate picking up a bottle for me. Send me P.M. I'm leaving at 8:00 tonight and will be going past Deb's place around 4:00 - 5:00 A.M. tomorrow and I doubt they will be open. If anyone can pick some up, call 224-234-2985. Thanks in advance. You will be handsomely rewarded. Ken

C'mon guys (and Deb) Let's start seeing some patterns and baits to load up on. Shallow in the bays, out on main lake points, creek channels in the bays? Or maybe like Larry was doing 2 years ago. Catching them like crazy right at the entrance to the Marina. Glenn joined him a couple nights. I think one of the soldiers caught a 4+ right before the Wed. meeting off shore. 1 day and counting!!!! Us non-locals need some inside info!

Saved and printed and put on my office wall! Amen. Like Deb said, should be wet but hopefully I can leave my snowsuit home this year.

Deb- Can you give directions to the store from the Moors? I'm sure I'm not the only one that will feel the need to spend money we don't have on stuff we don't need. We stopped at the store on the way to Kenlake 2 years ago and it was pretty impressive. I can only imagine what it's like now that you're involved. Also, big thanks to all involved: Glenn and Keri, Mike, Deb and Greg, Mike & Kent and Steve & Jackie for generously offering to cook for the mob, and everyone else behind the scenes I might have forgotten about.

I'll bring a dictionary down with me. "I love you man" as the movie goes. Your sense of humor is one of the many bright spots on this forum. You will bee a grate moderator. Just needs too wurk on the speling. (don't we all) Spellcheck is grate but doesn't catch a correctly spelled word used wrong.

I guess being a moderator might be too much for a guy your age.

X2. If I bring any more stuff, I'll need a bigger truck. A little nostalgia from 2009: Can't figure out how to make this bigger. Anyway you can open it and look at all the mugs, (Deb and Keri are the only pretty ones) that were there in 2009.

Welcome New Moderators!!
Congrats Nate. And also with all the reluctance I can muster, you too Mike! Get you dictionary ready!

Private Lake Full Of Weeds And Moss
My best color overall has been Blue Glimmer. Got my biggest fish right at dusk on a Black Neon. Smokey Shad and Green Pumpkin Chartreuse have produced well also.

Not Gonna Make The Road Trip Afterall :(
Like Dwight said- Always next year. Only one fiancee (Hopefully) Take care of her and she'll be in our thought and prayers.

Weedless Wacky Rig
Agree they can get tangled in the plastic but I don't think Ive missed a fish with these yet. I tinker with the weedguard so it sits on the hook just ahead of the barb, a little further back than in the picture. I use it in weeds, have dragged it over mooring lines and it's fine. It does look flimsy but it does a pretty good job. The wickeds are great too. Just cost more.

Tournament Winning Lures...
The KVD 1.5 is the real deal. Just got back from a lake with crystal clear water. This thing has great wiggling action, most cranks do, but it does tend to wander from left to right instead of coming in in a straight line. Not hype but when the number one and two guys at the classic are using it, it probably works. Unlike most of us, those guys make their living catching fish. If a bait doesn't work, it's not going to get used. That's not to say other baits wouldn't have worked just as well.......

Inconsistencies In Sk Crankbaits
Again with ebay. Fairly common with crankbaits, especially Strike King. Give it a whack on the countertop. Most times that will free up the rattle(s). If not, then you have 2 sound options as stated above.

Kvd 1.5 Or 2.5 Chart/black = Where
I got a bunch from BPS online and got lucky and got some rattling ones also. Phone operator said they just got them in stock. Timing is everything.

Strike King Shadalicious
4.5" in Sexy Shad has done pretty good for me the last few years. They hold up pretty well too. A little Mend-It fixes 'em up. Hook of choice is 5/0 1/8 oz. weighted Gamakatsu Superline hook. Hard to find today for some reason but I have enough to last a few more years. Mega Strike has a good one but haven't used it too much as it's pretty new. Solid bulky body shape. Worth a look.
