  1. 2 words. Rage Shad. Or is that one word. RageShad. Nevor wus two gud att spelinng.
  2. Same here. I ain't coming in at 2:00. They'll just be getting warmed up in the shallows then.
  3. Looks like the Walmart BFL is launching out of Moors 4/16 at 6:30 A.M. 2 out of KY dam and one out of Big Bear. Be prepared for some mayhem and maybe some spying!
  4. Kentucky Lake has huge potential for double digit bass! Just check my avatar. This monster was caught on 2009 Roadtrip there!

So far, I'm not completely liking it. Might not ever. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just an old fart with old school ways but I realize the need to keep up with the times. But unlike Sir Snook said, no matter what the change, I will never lose interest in this site. Don't have to like the way it looks to like the way it works!! Best source of info out there.
  6. A little megastrike never hurts.
  7. I think they're great. Asked 2 questions via email and received answers in 2 days. Great to know I can install my 597 using the existing bracket by just switching the old plastic insert with the new one. Always had 'Birds and always will. (Won't give up my Lowrance 2330 flasher for shallow water though)
  8. Just curious about BPS filtering the reviews. Where did you here this? I've read plenty of crappy review of their own products. Don't put a whole lot of stock in them anyway.
  9. Finally got my HB 597DI. Feel like a kid at Christmas. Powered it up and played around a bit and am excited to get it installed and start using it. Anyone have any suggestions as far as the best settings to start with like sensitivity, surface clutter, beam and frequency, zoom width, clear or max switchfire, charts speed etc. I know there will be some tweaking but I'd like a good starting point as this is new to me. Thanks in advance!
  10. Mike- RE Your new Avatar. No offense, but you look better going the other way.
  11. Thanks for answer to #1. If anyone can answer #2, please post or P.M.
  12. 2 more questions and then hopefully I'm done. 1) How do you tell if a member is online. Previously, it would say Online or Offline under the avatar. 2) How do you tell if a P.M. has been opened? Previously the message would look like an open letter in your sent folder. Thanks.
  13. Pull the hose off the connector behind the guage. Blow through it. If there is any resistance, something is clogged somewhere. See if you can blow it out from the guage side. If not, try to snake a small wire in the hole at the motor. Make sure the end of the wire is blunt so you don't punture the hose. Try blowing from the guage side again. My guage is always within 1 mph of my Humminbirds Speedo, unless the lower unit is covered in weeds. If all else fails, GPS will not let you down.

If you can find this, snap it up. http://www.fleetfarm.com/catalog/product_detail/fishing/tackle-boxes/bags/okeechobee-fats-deluxe-large-tackle-bag I got it on ebay, less the boxes, for $19.99 3 years ago and haven't looked back. Holds 8 370's, 1 360 on each side, As many plasics as you can fit in the back compartment, plus has a spot for your sunglasses and a small compartment in front that I keep terminal tackle in a midsize plano. Might hold more than you'll ever use, but if your like me, you just feel nervous if you don't have as much as you can with you in the boat. By far the best bag I have owned.
  15. Point is you can dip your baits before hitting the water and they will still have plenty of scent when you use them. Plus you'll have everyone that loves Italian food within 5 miles running over to see what's for dinner. ;D
  16. Haven't tried smelly jelly but JJ's stays on the bait for days, not hours. Like others have said, once you get used to it and are careful, no problems. (Megastrike works pretty darn good too)
  17. Silver on one side, white on the other. Looks like something that might be dying or easy prey to a bass. I rig shad colored tubes this way with the black on one side and the silver on the other and it works pretty good.
  18. We probably all grew up using a Zebco 33. I still have 2 of them. Great for when the kids or rookies come out to play. I have Zebco ultralight underspins on all my ice fishing rods and wouldn't trade them for anything. No tangles, twists, and drag is smooth as silk. Not sure if the model I have is made anymore.
  19. X2 I sat on an Extreme last year that was over a year old and brought it back and they gave me the same length and action, but the newer model, with no questions asked. Keep the little registration paper that's wrapped around the handle but dont send it in. Bring it with if you go to exchange it. Never broken a rod while fishing, just stupid stuff.
  20. Is it possible you got a non-production model or demo? Looks like cosmetic issues that would not affect performance. I do not own a Smoke but have 2 Accurists and an Energy and have yet to have an issue. I agree the craftsmanship in the pictures is not up to snuff, and I do manage a CNC machine shop. The model I picked up and looked ovet at the Spring Classic was very nicely finished. Looks like the grooves in the crank were roughed out and not polished. Same wth the back part where the handle pad is and the drag star. Not polished and anodized prior to installing the handles. I don't recall you mentioning if performance was poor but I would be ticked at the finish as well. Good luck. Tackle Tour rated it pretty good, giving it the Editors choice, for what that's worth. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewquantumsmoke.html
  21. Don't pay too much attention when someone says they aren't "impressed". If you looked at a senko for the first time would you be impressed? Just a straight hunk of plastic. The only way to find out is to try them and give them a fair shot. I think these are priced pretty reasonably too.
  22. A Shimano with a problem? Blasphemy. ;D Check out below. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SHIMANO-CURADO-200E7-REEL-RH-NIB-CU200E7-/380317198046?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588cabe6de http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Curado-200E7-Casting-Reel-CU-200E7-NEW-/360351906194?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e6a5b992 $143.00 with free shipping. Returnable also. Less than the $149.00 plus tax you paid. I thought She-Man-O (as Muddy used to call them) didn't participate in the reel trade in program. I bought one at this price ($142.95) last year from a seller in Florida and free cleaning and lube for life was included. Sometimes you get lucky on EBay.
