Thanks Wayne- Great info. I was leaning toward the Bird. Love to hear from anyone who has used either. Both are pretty new. jeremyt- Did you get the HD unit with Side Imaging? Not sure you'll be using fish I.D. much. Wish I could afford that unit.

Alright, I know everyone has their favorite brand, but these 2 units are priced the same and look to have very similar features and capabilities. Not sure if Lowrance comes with transducer. Not asking which you prefer but honest review if you have either one. Thanks.

Cut off the tag, get some heat shrink tubing and slowly (so you don't melt the plastic) heat the shrinktube on the end. Might save some $$$ if you buy a bunch. X2. Scumfrog Trophy are softest and get better hookups, but they also snag up easier for the same reason. Ish's Phat Frog is easiest to walk and doesn't take on water. Best all-around IMO is Bobby's Perfect. Each has their application. Never liked the Spro for whatever reason. I fish frogs alot and base my selection on the type of "SLOP" I'm fishing. I wouldn't hesitate to throw a Scumfrog over pondscum or moss but would not cast it into reeds or tules.

They never send me those flyers. Ive even e-mailed them asking them to do so (name-address) and nothing. They post the flyers on their site also. Check it often!

Gillrakers had "S" shaped tails. Looks like the tail is just messed up. Unusual color. Maybe look at some major manufacturers sites and see if they produce baits in that color. Could be a Power Worm. They do shrivel up after time in the air.

WTG. There is a retention pond where I work. Can catch all the 4" sunfish and bullheads you want but no bass. About a dozen were transplanted a few years ago by a co-worker but don't know if they made it or not.
