Buying an item and then asking for reviews
Semi-Guilty as charged. Bought 2 different Revo's recently but before I received them I had a chance to buy another one or the other at a rock bottom price from a friend of mine and wanted some honest feedback and got it. Guess I know why P.M. went unanswered. Ended up buying both.

Good Weekend, Boat and Wading.
Went up to the Cottage Friday night. Hit the lake just around dusk. Got a couple of small ones then got this one on a Rage Shad at about 10:30 Couple of pics and back she went. Sat. morning was kind of slow but did manage a few, including this one. Took a nap and decided to do a little wading using a Fat Ika that R.W. turned me on to and made an addict out of me with. Skipped it under a few boats and got this guy. Went back out around 6:30 P.M and didn't get a bite until this guy hit right at dusk. Rage Shad does it again! Forgot to set the alarm and slept in Sun Morn. After breakfast, put on swimsuit and went back in for some more wading. Didn't have to go far. Got one under my own boat and one under my neighbors. Kudos to R.W for turning me on to the Ika. Now if I could only get him to pay for them! Forgive picture quality. All from cell phone. Forgot camera at home.

YO-ZURI HYBRID?
Best all around line out there. For spinning, try Ultra-Soft.

bargains
$8.00 isn't a bargain for the Shadalicious and if they are not working for you, you must be rigging them wrong. Never used a Carrot stick. Can't get past the appearance.

Checked Out The St Croix Mojo & LTB Rods Today &....
So what are you trying to say!?! Ok let me dumb it down for the few people who don't get what I said in plain english. The rods coming from Mexico and the rods coming from the US are gonna have the same build quality. They may use higher end materials on the ones coming from the US but to think that a rod made by a Mexican is of lesser build quality is just ignorant. I am all for buying Made in the USA, the fact is the though Made in the US doesn't always equate to a better product. Thanks for enlightening us "Dummies". I respectfully disagree. I have seen several shows where the hosts were given a tour of the St Croix plant in Cheeseland. Extreme attention is paid to quality control. I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the same does not apply in Mexico, no matter how hard you work or what components are used. Might not be the best analogy but does Swine Flu come to mind? I've worked in manufacturing my whole life. I have seen companies open plants in Mexico only to close them and relocate back here due to quality. Taiwan, China, same thing. Japan is another story and Korea is getting close. No offense meant to anyone, just the facts as I see them. Now back to the topic, I agree Mojo's are dressed up Premiers with a split handle, which I do not like. If you like that style handle, can't go wrong for the price.

anyone experiencing Breakoffs with PP Spectra Braid 50#?
Yeah, and there's no free replacement > Warranty expired 40 years ago? No Need to worry about stiffness either.

Revo STX or Premier. Only respond if you have used both.
I knew you couldn't resist. Forgot to set alarm this A.M. so I'm going to put on the swimsuit and do some wading. It's 90 Deg. already. And we need DA COACH!!!!!! Cutler not so hot last night from what I read. Good thing I was out fishing.

how to set up my shimano citica
: : First I think this thread was about setting up a Citica, not I got a better deal than you Nyah Nyah. Second, not to bash anyone but P.M. was sent to our friend about his super deals and he did not reveal source. Big surprise. Make your own assumptions. Braggin' or B.S. They both start with a B. P.S. Daddy. You might want to think twice about calling people a "Tool". I suppose you get wholesale pricing from your doctor, dentist, contractor, etc. Do you get your stamps at a discount from the USPS? You must work for the government. ;D

Revo STX or Premier. Only respond if you have used both.
My earlier post seems to have gotten off topic. I need informed and honest opinions about the Revo Premier and the Revo STX. I purchased 1 of each which I have to keep as I have submitted rebates but then purchased another one of each at prices I couldn't pass up from a friend. I can only keep an STX or a Premier and in limited used cannot find any major differences outside of weight. Please, only people that have used both respond and give your reasons why you made your choice. And Leo, don't sneak Shimano in there. Time for that another day. Time to hit the water. Mods- This could be redundant so if you want to remove, feel free

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Don't sweat it. I'm curious myself. Now that I have tried both, I'm having a harder time deciding. The weight is not a huge issue with me, it's more the casting distance, and non-backlashing along with longevity.

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Hey Dink, Im not trying to start any crap dude. I used the search engine like we're supposed to and came across this post you made 4 months ago. Can you please elaborate as to why you chose the STX over the other Revos. I'm definitely going Revo but not sure which just yet. Thanks. Peace In Dinks defense, the question was about the Premier and the STX only and he chose according to the question. I think what was quoted bears that out. No mention of the Premier was made. Anyway, I received my order Thursday and can't believe how light the Premier is. I spooled both up with 12 lb. Yo-Zuri Hybrid and made a few casts with each using the same bait. To me, no noticeable difference. Didn't catch anything on either so can't make drag comparison. Did get some nice ones on other set-ups though. Will post pics when I get home. I ended up buying both my buddy was selling and will make decision after more use tonight and tomorrow A.M. I will see which one handles lighter baits better. One or the other will end up on ebay or flea market here. Couldn't pass up price. Any thoughts on which one would be the better choice for casting lighter baits, 1/8 - 1/4 oz?Time for a swim and breakfast.

Bait smells(from factory)
What size "worm" are you using. ;D Jelly Worms were great but pick up some pre-rigged worms from Lil' Mac or Ike Con and they still have that great smell. And they work too. Anywhere, anytime. I do like the smell on Tiki Sticks (Molopo Infused) and I think bass do too.

6" Soft plastic lizards.
Like Raul said, there do not need to be Lizards present for their plastic relatives to work. I have been using The Rage Lizard with great success. By far the best action of any lizard out there. Something a little different for the fish to look at also.

Which RAGE tail product?
I believe at Dick's they are $5.99 each. I would go for the Shads and Space Monkeys. Or you could wait until the new line comes out.

Ordered the BPS extreme combo.
I use either backing, which is secured to the spool with electrical tape, or just the electrical tape and tie to it and have never had slippage problems.

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
CWB asked for Shimano not to be mentioned so thanks for the opening. Seriously no way if your talking about the Curado 200 that you have. Less drag of course versus the STX but that reel is sweet. Sorry Ken. I knew you were laying in the weeds waiting for an opening to pounce. No worries. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however misguided. ;D

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Makes sense.

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Excellent point Speed, but I think drag smoothness to me would be more important than what poundage it is rated for. Not exactly sure how drag power is calculated but if I'm using 12 lb. line, do I need 23 lb. of drag pressure? Does 12 lb. drag pressure mean that's as tight as you can set it? It will then slip at 12 lb. no matter how tight it is set?
-
Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Excellent point. Bearings in the handles are nice but I believe the Premier does not incorporate this due to added weight. Drag for me usually comes into play if I happen to hook a large Musky. I use 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid and 12-15 lb Big Game. Haven't hooked a bass that broke either of these but you do want it to slip a bit on a hard run, especially close to the boat. I'm still on the fence and need to decide today. Any more input?
-
Revo STX or Revo Premier.
I've read that about the drag also but up here, a 5 pounder is big. Using 12 lb. line, drag doesn't factor in that much. As far as casting performance and smoothness did you notice a big difference?

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Don't you want to know how I got your picture for my Avatar? ;D

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Need some advice quick. I ordered 1 of each of the above reels but have not received them yet. I have a chance to buy 1 more of either one and need some advice. Regardless of price, which would be the better all around choice. Please no Shimano or Daiwa are better posts. Those are the only 2 choices I have. Any help from anyone who has experience with both would be appreciated.
