  1. I am banned from the local one here. I didn't see the sign that said 20 plate maximum and I had 21.
  2. After spending the money on the goodie bags, maps and the meal there wasn't much money left Leo. I understand Glenn's bringing in a few gals from Kentucky who'll dance for free food and liters of coke. Don't you mean Gallons and not Liters? That picture and the mental image of Burley sleeping, that has scarred me for life, have my head spinning. Hellllpppp!!!!! :D
  3. I voted Lily Pads 'cause I love Froggin' but Cabbage and Milfoil are close second. Cabbage holds some lunkers and some big toothy critters up here.
  4. Read this carefully: http://www.fishin.com/articles/ledges.htm
  5. I don't know but it's looking more and more like it's time to put a fork in the Cubs. Looks like they have no fire left. Maybe too many injuries, Maybe just overpaid lazy players that would rather watch a ball after they hit it than run, I don't know. Pitching seems to be O.K. still but Killer Instinct is lacking. Is there a stat for how many times you load the bases and don't score? I don't care how many outs there are. Maybe they can turn it around.
  6. If you are talking catalog ordering, 1) Tackle Warehouse. 2) BPS. Certain things I do not buy through catalogs like rods, which I like to feel and actually put a reel on before purchasing, and reels also. For in store purchasing, it would be 1) BPS. 2) BPS. As far as customer service , I've seen some negatives about BPS but I have returned rods that broke after a year without a receipt and they were replaced no questions asked. Always someone there to help me find what I'm looking for. My local Cabela's stinks for selection.
  7. The Rage Shad is an excellent bait for early morning, nightime. Doesn't matter where you throw it like a buzzbait, it will make it back without junk hanging off it and most likely a fish. Another good bait I use is BPS Tornado. This bait throws out more vibrations than any other spinnerbait and can be buzzed on top as well. Big single bladed Colorado spinnerbaits are good also. Don't limit yourself to topwater either but that's where I would start.
  8. They all work and have slightly different actions. These have similar action to the Netbait but last longer. Rage Baits have the most action but need a slightly faster fall or retrieve. Claws actually look like they are paddling up and down and not just flapping around haphazardly.
  9. Have used them for years for Sluggo's, Senkos and am going to try them with Rage Shads and Toads. Easiest to rig for texposing as you are pushing hook point straight up thru bait and they tend to stay in place a little better.
  10. I think they will bite whether they are wearing any or not. ;D
  11. Older Guys? I resemble that remark! Bagley's DB3 or Deep Killer B's. Mudbug. Wiggle Warts. Rebel Deep Wee R. Spoonplugs for trolling. Could go on but at my age my mind tends to wander.
  12. Care to part with some of those?
  13. The fish have been tearing up my Rage Shads, mostly where the tail makes the "U" shaped bend. Don't think the lighter would fix this type of "injury". I have a bottle on order and will post an objective review when it finally gets here.
  14. true....but if it can't hold a palomar knot like everthing else can, what good is. I'll take P-Line CXX over vanish anyday....Trilene sensation is more durable than vanish I used Vanish for two years without a problem. Never broke a knot. Those 14-15 inchers really do put your line and knot to the test, don't they?
  15. I use mainly Strike King Shadalicious and Bass Magic. I simply store them in the original plastic tray they come in inside the bag and they are perfectly straight, ready to use. Rigging is very quick once you've done it a dozen or so times. Bought some Reaction Strike baits that came 4 to a rectangular plastic box and every one was kinked.
  16. I use Yo-Zuri Hybrid on my baitcasters and Yo-Zuri Ultrasoft on spinning gear. It is a Flouro-Copolymer blend and strong as they come. Use some KVD lure and line conditioner on it and you'll be amazed at this stuff. For pure Flouro, the best I have used is Sunline FC Sniper. I got it on ebay for a steal. It's pretty steep retail. BPS house brand is pretty good and so is Berkley 100%. I tried Vanish when it first came out and found it to be so bad, I returned it.
  17. Oh Goodness; this mook thinks I was making a valid point, Don't be so hard on these new guys. And how did he get to be a MOOK and I'm not even one yet? I'm deeply hurt Muddy.
  18. It all depends what you consider a deal. I've got a few reels, NIB at 1/2 retail. There seem to be a bunch of sellers that sell "new" reels that were part of combos. I avoid these. There are deals out there. I have a saved search titled "Baitcaster" and one titled "Baitcast" It takes a while to look through all the listings but you can customize the search to filter out unwanted brands also. Keep looking. Don't just search for Curado or Revo. You might be missing some misspelled bargains as Skunked mentioned.
  19. Sounds like it worked out for the best. I agree with you that the guy was a putz and I probably would have decked him. One question though. Why didn't you close the deal on that first visit? I would Email G.M Like Bassn Blvd said and if you got the guys name, mention it and the original salesman you spoke with and all pertinent details. Might not help but might be good therapy.
  20. Before doing either and even bidding on a used reel, I would contact the seller and make sure the reel is returnable if it does not function as described upon receipt. That way you have a "papertrail" if you decide to return it, which would be my choice. If they do not respond or say no, keep looking.
  21. Wait for him to contact you and ask for the reel back. If and when he does, ignore him as he did you. Was it a NIB reel or listed as used?
  22. If you were referring to my post, I get his point. Don't you know sarcasm when you see it? See the Smiley after the comment.
  23. x2 x3 x6 x7... IMO Quantums are heavy paper weights... Citca KVD must not have a clue. Check this out. $20.00 rebate to boot! http://www.***.com/descpageRLCABUGAR-AGRSTX.html BPS Pro Qualifier is $99.00 and frequently goes on sale. (See Evers Below) No question Shimanos are great reels but they aren't the only ones. I got 2 Accurist PT's on sale at BPS earlier this year ($47.00) and they are among my favorites. Seek and ye shall find. I tend to pay attention to what the pros use. Sure they are sponsored but they can choose their sponsors. None of the top 5 finishers at the Classic this year used Shimano. Skeet used Abu, Ike used Daiwa, Snowden and Evers used BPS and McClelland used Quantum. Maybe Shimano doesn't offer sponsorships but if it was me and there was that much money on the line, I'd use my preferred reel, sponsorship or not. JMHO
  24. I have had this happen to me. I fixed it by supergluing the guide back in it's proper position then re-wrapping it (got the thread from Dick's) and then painting the wrapping with nailpolish. May not be pretty, but it has held up for me. If your not handy, heed Reel Mechanics advice.
  25. Do you work for Pinnacle? ;D Seriously, I have an Extant that is probably 4-5 years old and it still performs like new. I'm not hauling in 8-10 pounders every time out either as a 5 pounder is big up here. I'm pretty hard on my stuff and it has held up well.
