  1. It was ghastly, an experience which should not be repeated. I think you spelled gas tly wrong. Go ahead and tell him but only if he promises I get the shirt out of it. And it probably wasn't the pancakes at all, it was the Kentucky butter and syrup. If I recall, it was pretty windy the rest of that day anyway.
  2. Hank was someone we could all look up to. And Boomhauer was someone we all dreamed we were. Long live the re-runs. I have every Married.. With Children episode on DVD. First Al, now Hank. Who's next?
  3. Bring a sleeping bag. We'll have Metallica. Sabbath, heavy metal and rock going all night. And pancakes for breakfast. I think Mike just gets lonely after a day or two. Make sure you sleep on your back with one eye open. When he's asleep, see if you can go through his stuff and snag my shirt for me.

Pop-R's. Used to be one of my favorites but since trying the Rage Shad, I don't think I've thrown one in 2 years. I keep a Z-Too rigged as a back up.
  5. This is pretty much the case on my home lake and I rarely fish deeper than 15 feet. Deep weedline is at about 10-12 feet. Plenty of shallow cover to fish and there always seems to be some active fish shallow for me. Of course water temps aren't 100 deg up here.
  6. Kind of a variation, but I love Strike King's Timber Spin. I'm running out though. Anyone have any they would be willing to part with?
  7. Keep it up bud! P.S. I didn't see any mention of a girl :D Just kidding Mook. You're almost home!
  8. Zulu's Float. Z-Too's are supposed to sink slowly due to salt content. Zero's sink slowly like a Tiki Stick but not as fast as a Senko. After some use they all tend to float, probably due to salt leaching out. I prefer the Z-Too and have had great success with it as a topwater. A 1/16 keel weighted hook should help you out and add casting distance as well.

Well, I was finally lured to the dark side. I've been looking for a deal on a Curado 200E7 and found this below: http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=3933631 Called and the items are NIB, with all paperwork and oil etc, as bought at any store. Even will clean and lube free each year after warranty expires for cost of shipping. I couldn't pass it up. Muddy- Promise you won't hate me! Off to my son's Baseball tournament at Valpo U. Back Sun. night. This baseball is putting a dent in my fishing but hopefully the right coach will see him and make an offer. Next 7 weekends out of town. We'll see.

You should talk. Where's my shirt????? >
  11. Stooges forever! Bluegill and perch are the main forage base. Usually fish are pretty chunky. Camera angle isn't best either, holding them out at arms length and taking a picture doesn't do them much justice. They were obviously hungry though. Holding them horizontally would have shown they were a tad more stout. Like they guy that caught them
  12. All good replies. I've never had a problem with the old or the new ones. I use a 4/0 Gammie Superline EWG hook. Bait must be rigged dead center. Pretty easy to do as there is a line along the top and bottom to keep the hook centered. The only problem I have is keeping fish from tearing them up. Fast or slow retrieve, they should run true. You're not using Youvella hooks are you? They have a twist to them.
  13. Musky, Pike, Dogfish, Rockbass, Bluegill, Sunfish, Perch, Walleye, Crappie, Shad (snagged), Carp, Soft Shell Turtles (on Golden Roaches), and a couple of USO's (unidentified swimming objects).
  14. Carts right on. Some years ago I had a waterski boat actually come so close to me it cut my lure off with its prop. I took down the number and called the DNR. A few days later I got a call saying they had contacted the person but he didn't recall. Not sure if anything resulted but I felt a little better anyway.
  15. Your'e in my prayers, Frogtog. Get well soon.

Just wanted to give a big shout out and thanks to Kent A.K.A. RoadWarrior. I asked for help locating an item and he went way above and beyond in helping me out. Thanks man. You're O.K. in my book. Anytime you need something, just ask. I owe you.
  17. Looks like Illinois will be well represented!
  18. Good for her and you. A new lifelong partner!
  19. Congrats on a great trip!
  20. Great job! Were the fish O.K. without the water in the bag? Man I wish there was Highschool fishing 50 years ago ;D when I was in Highschool. Probably would have kept me out of a ton of trouble. Congrats and consider yourself lucky to have that available to you and best of luck in the future!
  21. I guarantee you'll love them. Picture all those places you would love to throw a buzzbait but it would get hung up in the slop. That's where this bait shines. You can work it slow like a hollow body frog or fast like a buzzer. I'm getting to the point where it's my main bait. I know it's gonna get cold soon but I got one of my biggest bass last year on a frog the day I took my boat out for the year.

My wife used to fish with me all the time before we got married. Once she said I Do, it was I Don't Anymore. However she lets me go pretty much whenever I want with only slight nagging and guilt afterwards. She's a keeper. She even gets me good presents at Christmas and Birthdays. If you find the right gal, you'll work it out. I love fishing but if I had to choose... I'll get back to you on that. ;D
  23. Good one! LOL
