  1. Same here. I use it as the "propwash" bait when Musky trolling. Great shallow casting bait for Muskies also. Have caught some bass on them Musky fishing.
  2. I rig it like this: It tends to fall away from you like the old "Flying Lure". Gets further under docks etc. and you can jig it up and down and it stays in place. Works great for specific targets.

They do look interesting. I don't think they would replace the Ika but as a trailer or just a heavy solid tube with a little different look, they should produce.
  4. RW turned me on to this bait and I haven't looked back. Like Ghoti says, stick with a regular Owner or Gammie EWG. I prefer 5/0 skinhooked. Can't recall any hookup issues but have had one or two get off during the fight. This is a close quarters bait for me as in skipping under docks etc. Used to only use senkos for this but now have two choices that work consistently.
  5. I didn't get a chance to meet you at Ky Lake. Hope that changes at Pickwick. Kelley Same here. No need to sleep on the floor. I think Mike gets lonely and has room in his bed. ;D ;D
  6. Hey- I responded. I even asked Mike when I'll be getting my Mook shirt. No response. Dismal failure indeed. >
  7. Uncle who? Never met the guy. ;D
  8. I've had nightmares for a week. He might look O.K. in a red wig though.
  9. Ken, Speed's recipe is a bit refined; it's not just something you throw together. He gave it to me and I spent weeks getting it right. Because of the many herbs and spices needed, it becomes a nightmare just getting everything together. His chicken was the best yardbird I ever had! Hey Brian, I think it it was so good because there was no cheese in it. ;D ;D
  10. Speed's chicken was one of the highlights of this years trip. He still won't give me his recipe!
  11. So then did the wiser ones keep heading west and the rest stay there? : I don't know why I keep doing this. No one can top Glen.
  12. I don't think the Evo jigs are the best for flippin' in heavy stuff. Weedguard is kind of flimsy. Good all around jig though IMO. I got a bunch of Terminator Pro's Secret jigs and Football head jigs from Overstock Bait and Tackle (a site sponsor) and love them.
  13. Wasn't Missouri derived from the word misery? ;D
  14. All I can say is Wow! Just got 3 packs at BPS and can't wait to try them. Might have to be next spring though. What color did you use?
  15. Congrats!
  16. With my luck he'd fall through. We've got to find a life jacket that will not only be comfortable but keep his whole head and neck upright and out of the water as he breaths through his neck now. Anyone have any ideas?
  17. Good to see another Illinoisan (is that a word?) coming. Too many rednecks.
  18. My dad had his vocal chords removed about a week and a half ago and the pathology and pet scans showed no further signs of cancer. He is starting to eat semi-solid foods such as pudding, creamy soup and icecream. He is slowly learning to communicate with a couple of the devices they have provided for him and I think that will be the toughest part. Although he was a man of few words to start with. Hopefully, we'll be fishing together next spring but he cant get the stoma, which is the tube that is inserted in his neck wet, so I can't let him fall overboard. Again, thanks to all. My family really appreciated the support and I'm sure it helped.
  19. X2 on the Shakee2 heads and 3X plastics. Look up Z-Man also. His baits are the same ElazTech as Strike King's. I've done real well with a 3/16 Shakee2 and a Rage Lizard. If I need to go lighter, I use Strike Kings football or regular shakee heads with 3X or Z-Man plastics. The plastics float up nicely on the lighter heads. 1/16 regular or 1/8 football.
  20. Can't wait to get some and throw them myself!
  21. My wife likes to hit the Casino's every once in a while and every time she goes I get about 3 or 4 feedings of the baitmonkey with no questions asked. (unless she wins) ;D
  22. Do you mean Shemp? Disparaging the stooges like that is blasphemy where I come from. Glenn isn't that pretty.
  23. Frogs are pretty aggressive dudes. I've had them come from 10 feet away and hammer my Hollow Body frog bait. Cannibals too. I don't know why but I always mess with one if he wants to play. Passes the time. I've actually caught several. Even had one try to get on top of my bait. Must have thought it was a girl.
  24. Definitely looks like a carp scale. Looks like it has that golden brown tinge to it. Too big for a bass I would think.
  25. I am one of the unfortunate ones that has to winterize my boat. Before the last time I use it, I put in the appropriate amount of Marine Sta-Bil and run it for the day. When I take it out I do 2 things. Disconnect the gas line to the motor and run the gas out of it. Then pull it up a bit and remove all drain plugs to drain any water that might be inside. If there is noone behind you waiting leave it on the ramp to drain. Then when I get it home, I drain and refill the gearcase lube. If it looks white or milky, check for a bad propshaft seal. Next remove both Big and trolling motor props and check for and remove any line or debris. This can be done while gearcase is draining. Then I remove the spark plugs and give each cylinder a good blast of fogging spray. Crank for a bit and repeat. Next I remove the cover over the carbs and crank while spraying some fogging spray into each carb. Button the front back up and give each cylinder another shot of fogging spray. Clean and/or replace plugs and re-install but do not connect wires. Crank engine a few seconds and hook wires back up. In 30+ years of owning a boat, I have never had a problem with starting first time out next spring following this procedure. Of course, now is the time to clean the hull, inside, etc. Give it a good waxing in the spring. Hope this helps.
