  1. I have an 84 glasstream F&S it's nice when you want to hang out with the kids. The platform in the back isn't too big and no storage, I use the livewell for storage on days we go to the river for the whole day. When we on the BR Roadtrip on KY lake it didn't ride that bad on them waves I've been in touney boats that ride worst then that. joe
  2. What time was that? We dropped boat around 5 and I didnt't see it there. That would've been cool to see. Our main launches we use are Freeport, Tarentum, and Kittanning
  3. I get up at 4 am drink some coffee, leave the house at 4:30 on the water at 4:40. Usually we through some Rage Shad and buzz baits Joe
  4. My son and I are going to be there as a spectator on Saturday and on Sunday I might launch the boat up river in the morning and let my son watch as they all launch and hang out on the boat all day. Joe
  5. Stay in the channel and your good, fish around all the islands just south of the launch in Kittaning it's maybe a half mile. Then go a little further south another mile or so and fish around the barges that are sitting there. These spots always produce for me. joe
  6. to the forums. joe
  7. These trips are more than the fishing, I caught a bunch of dinks but I have no complaints.(Just couldn't find the biggins) Brian (Btech) on the forums him and I talk all the time over the phone and I met him on the trip. I just went to the last trip to put faces on the names you always see on here and of course to go fishing some place I would of never have gone if it wasn't for the Road Trip crew to put it all together for us to enjoy. You have a catered dinner on Wed and bunch of new products to try out. Like now I love having JJ's magic, Evolution jigs and Rage Tail on the boat when I head out, if I wouldn't have gone I would of never even tried them out. We also raised money for the Cast For Kids charity which is always a good cause. joe
  8. Yes Debs dessert was delicious paired up with Gene's peach cobbler MMMMMMMMM YUM. Speedbead let's cook the chicken this time LOL joe
  9. I have a tournament down there July 19th I let you know what pattern I can put together. I'm going thurs, fri, saturday and tournament is on Sunday I only live 15 mins. away. I was fishing a little further north on the Allegheny, I fished the banks early during the day and after 10 I went out to the channel and had a pretty good day. joe
  10. I'll be there. It was a good time last year. 12 hours and 27 min. from Pittsburgh, Pa. I'll reserve a room tomorrow. joe
  11. I would use aluminum the cost will be more but, it will it lighter and if you keep the boat for a while you won't need to worry about it rotting out in a few years. What I do when I built a boat is I coat all the wood I put in it with a waterproofing material you can get it at most Home Depots go in the flooring section and pick up a bucket of C-Cure Water proofing membrane it goes on pink and dries red. When dry it turns into almost plastic material, water can't find it's way in. Just make sure you put 3 coats on. Let us know how it goes. joe
  12. Not a bad deal. The Minn kota alone is worth $450.00. With a little work that boat can look as good as new. I would still bring cash and try to talk him down on price for the heck of it. If you can save yourself some money why not. joe
  13. yeah, definitely scam the motor is worth more than that.
  14. Our director does the same thing. He makes sure were all standing there then does his announcements. Sorry to hear about your DQ but with eight more Tournaments I'm sure you'll blow by them in points. Good luck guys
  15. Nice finder Burley, Is it much easier to determine what's under you now you have color? joe
  16. I went right to Advance Auto Parts about a 2 months ago and got 2 Marine Deep Cycle Batteries for $130.00. Some say their junk but I sold my other boat that I put one in it and it was 5 years old and still running strong. My friend who bought the boat is still using it. joe
  17. I fish this small farm pond that hasn't been fished for over ten years when I first started going there I was pounding them out of there. A month later the same lures wouldn't work so I changed up a little, could be profile, wobble or instead of a senko I'd throw a ribbon-tailed worm. When I made that little change that's all that was needed, I started pounding them again. My fishing partner uses the same lure ninety percent of the time and he was also catching them at first then the bass got used to it. He goes there and catches 4-5 fish when before he would catch 10-15. He doesn't know that all he needs is a little change and I won't tell him. I like catching the bass and watching him get frustrated at the same time. One day I'll explain it to him but for now it's fun. ;D So I seen first hand how a bass can get used to seeing a lure, with no other fishing pressure on this pond but us. joe
  18. My main hobby is fishing, but family comes first and work is second (workaholic) when I get time you better believe my boat and I disappear for some much needed time on the lake. Winter time I go hunting.
  19. When I see a bass jumping out of the water like that, I start throwing topwater baits at them and good chances are you will get a couple of them. joe
  20. Thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. joe
  21. You were catching female bass that already spawned out. I don't know scientific explanation of it, but that's what it is. They laid there eggs and now their out feeding while the males stay on the bed protecting it. joe
  22. I'm no expert on sight fishing, But my thought is the smallies might be sitting on the beds or protecting the fry. Maybe somebody else can explain it better. joe
  23. OPPS.. hit post somehow. The reason I'm asking is I was out fishing yesterday and I couldn't catch a bite, until I went back around the lake with just my pitching rod and was throwing tight to the cover with a football jig and a red shad ribbon-tail worm and caught 12 fish in just about 2 hours.
  24. Did you try pitching into the cover? They might be holding tight to the structure. joe
