on the pond up camp, I use my fly rod with a small popper on it and for my son I tie a fly on the end of his line with a bober about a foot away from the fly ( for weight so he can cast) and we catch a lot of fish. I usally rig his rod like this when were fishing early in the morning or latter in the day for top water action ..

up camp we have a 1 acre pond and what the owners did is stocked it with bluegill for the kids to fish and waited till the 2nd summer and then stocked 50 bass and waited another year to stock 50 more and let it go to grow on its own, he said every once in awhile he throws a few dozen of shiners in as a treat to all of the fish, but now you can catch some nice bass out of it, but he has one rule you catch it you release it

I'd try to drop shot a live minnow, see what happens. I've seen bass near the shore soaking up the sun, But I also saw bass near shore until the sun hit them then they were gone. sorry I can't help out more

I bought a pair from cabelas it was alaskan guide pvc suit it had a parka and bibs for about 100 bucks last year. there the best I use them a couple times a year I mostly leave them on the boat hope that helps

I started my son at 3 years old with live minnows and he wanted to fish like me so I got him a topwater heddon torpedo and he just turned 5 so for his birthday last week I took him down to Cabelas and let him pick out his own tacklebox and baits and let me say the bait monkey got a hold of him too he wanted everything I have in my tacklebox but I got him a frog, buzzbait, spinnerbait and bunch of plastic worms, I showed and explained to him about the hooks and how to grab them, not to stab his little sister with them and he understood everything I said. I took him fishing yesterday and he caught a couple of small bass but I didn't fish at all :'( :'(

Gas prices are killing me and my business. We have a camp about an hour north of us and I think I might sell it this year > > my kids will be ticked off they love it up there and so do I, we used to go up there every weekend but now I not to sure what were doing. My wife's Land Rover and my van are both gas hogs time to buy a VW, all the places I fish now are all within 5 miles for me

I bought my boat 2 years ago It has 1980 mercury 40 hp. on it. Last year I ran real good at first then towards the end of summer I noticed I wasn't going as fast. I was down to 15 mph top speed. So far I changed the plugs and changed the fluids in the lower unit. This year It's still running slow. I might take it to a mechnic, But I wanna see what you guys think?
