  8. Hello and Welcome to BR ~ I recommend that you hook up with the anglers in that bass club at your university and ask them. They will have all the information you'll need on tackle and baits that are effective in your area. Good Luck A-Jay
  9. That is very cool. Looks like Mr Horton had a tough day with only 2 fish for 2-6, he's down in 82nd place. Ish Monroe had a bit better luck with 3 bass for 5-13 good for 51st place. Have fun. A-Jay

  12. And when your done be sure to record your success by carving a very life like line drawing on the inside wall of the nearest cave.; and then ride your brontosaurus off into the sunset . . . . . On your way by, say hello to Barney Rubble for us. A-Jay
  13. Haven't fished every where but I use the same baits with success up here in northern Michigan as I do 2,501.5 miles south of me in Sinaloa, Mexico; just have to use heavier line ~ Much Heavier. A-Jay
  14. Thanks Dwight - clearly I am very please with what's been happening here fishing wise the past month or so but somehow I'd really like to put the local population of bass here on the same type if massive frame building workout as the freak toad smallies you chase around over your way . . . . . 15. You'll learn this one as you get a little older ~ Never wish for time to go any faster ~ it goes WAY TOO FAST all on it's own. Every day is a gift, that's why they call it "the present". A-Jay

  17. Had a chance to spend the past two mornings on the water. I fished a lake I haven’t been out on in two seasons. There’s some decent bass there but its easy access makes it very popular. I went anyway. I got on the water both mornings before day break and was into both green and brown bass almost immediately. Started with a spinner bait and then switched to a ½ ounce swim jig once the spinner bait bite seemed to die off after sun rise. That was working but I wasn’t feeling it. Moved to fish a deep side weed line edge in 10-14 feet; switching back & forth between a Texas rigged Rage Lobster and a Square bill crank bait. The feedback was immediate and positive. With a bit too many pike mixed in, the bass were very eager to chase down and hammer the crank bait, and slurp in that craw. It was fun. It’s been a bit of a different fishing experience here this summer. The usually very clear water in these lakes, all have a bit of a green tint or hue they rarely have. I think it’s causing the fish to stay shallower longer or in some cases permanently. Usually by August here big smallies are really hard to find and even harder to catch. Most of the better fish I get then come at night. But not this season; the big browns seem to be everywhere – I’m liking it. Some footage below. 18. That whole story reminds me of another Legend . . . . . . . . Bronzesquatch, is the name given to an over sized bass like creature that some people believe inhabits The Great Lakes of North America. Bronzesquatch is usually described as a huge bronze fish like creature almost always over 10 pounds, with big fangs and a gnarly hump on it's head. Because of the lack of physical evidence, most DNR & IGFA Officials, discount the existence of Bronzesquatch and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax rather than an actual fish. 22. Excellent. I love hearing stuff like this. So you mean to tell us you actually caught DD bass on Green MONO ? How can this be ? Couldn't they see your line ? That's just crazy - You should switch to fluorocarbon line right away . . . A-Jay
