Canoe Modification In Progress.
I put carpet in my Old Town Predator. I got the idea from my pick-up truck. I have been putting a product called a "Bed Rug" which is a form fitted all weather bed liner in my past few vehicles. It's a very good product. Used the indoor-outdoor stuff. It covers the entire length of the boat in 2 sections overlapping under the middle bench seat. Used a card board template to form fit a custom cut. Also glued a thin water proof foam backing to the under side of the carpet. The blue foam is sold as a sleeping bag mat. I think it was 3ft x 7 ft and perhaps 3/4" thick. I purchased 3 and cut and pasted what I needed. This keeps the carpet in place, is a nice cushion under the feet, provides insulation, make the canoe very quite and is easy to remove and clean. This same material has been down for six seasons now and is in good shape. I'd expect to get at least 2 or 3 more years out of it before I'll need to replace it. I really like it. A-Jay

Which Camera For My Boat
- Leader With Braid?
X2 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This The only difference for me is I actually prefer a leader of mono; for casting & spinning. Tried Fluorocarbon & Copolymer leaders and still have gravitated back to the monofilament. My home waters are very clear so I go with the largest pound test They will bite. Sometimes that's 4 or 6 lb other times it's 12-15 lb depends on the application and the cover. The detractors of mono will note the undesirable qualities of the line and there are a few. But when used as leader and not a main line many of these traits become beneficial in my eyes. Great knot strength. Excellent ability to Repeatedly handle shock & stretch. Decent abrasion resistance in most situation. Great manageability. Assists in working topwater baits. Very reasonably priced. I don't use this system unless it's applicable and Nothing works for every application but this works for me in most. Berkley Big Game and Maxima Ultragreen leader with a Power Pro or Sufix 832 main line. A-Jay- What To Do With This Rod

Way to go ~ and it's about time. It will be tough sledding at first but after 3 weeks or so you'll start to feel a little better. Either way, that's the path you chose so grab your shirt Nancy and Man up ! And I'm not going to wish you Good Luck either because you don't need Luck. What you need you already have, a strong mind; So use it. And your metabolism is going to slow down too, so watch what you eat. **************************************************************************************** That was my attempt at tough love ~ how'd I do ? I am in competition with no one. I have no desire to play the game of being better than anyone. I am simply trying to be a better angler than I was yesterday. My fish photo taking evolutions reflect the same sentiment. I also feel that the fish should fill the frame. A-Jay- Any Black Friday Fishing Kayak Deals?
I do not. But I will tell you a few years back I bought a Old Town Canoe from LL Bean in Maine over X-Mas. They advertised free shipping through the holidays. Well, they sent it right to my door in Northern Michigan - For Free. You May want to wait. A-Jay- Fd's 5Th Annual Fishmas Xchange

I like your style but a bit surprised you didn't go for the 21 Old Archive. A-Jay- Need A Couple Rods. Looking For Suggestions.
Hi RF, You've received quite a bit of input, options and opinions about your upcoming rod & reel purchase. I believe that your previous thoughts regarding the Pflueger President Spinning Combos are very good. I purchased this a couple of these combos for my wife 6 years ago when she started fishing with me. She was just learning (everything) and these outfits were perfect. Reasonably priced, good quality and durable. There are a few different model / actions to chose from making picking the right one for you and you son possible. Both of my wife's combo's are still performing like the day we got them. You can certainly spend more if you chose to however I believe this is a very good product and one that you'll have for a long time to come. Good Luck A-Jay http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Rod-Reel-Combos/Spinning-Combos%7C/pc/104793480/c/104762880/sc/105791580/Pfluegerreg-Presidentreg-Spinning-Combo/1308567.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fspinning-combos%2F_%2FN-1102843%2FNe-738%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_105791580%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104762880%26WTz_srn%3DBy%2BBrand%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104762880%3Bcat105791580- Question About Bass Seasonal Migrations
So after reading back through the responses here - I'm not sure we actually answered Rooster's original question. I would add that in order to follow, intercept and / or eventually find bass before, during and after this "predictable movement pattern twice a year", it would help if an angler had located the fish prior to their departure. Some history on the water could help with the where & when but you know what they say about fishing history. Either way there's no replacement for being on the water and fishing it correctly with regard to each seasonal pattern. An important variable here is what does the predominate food / bait the bass eat at these times of the year do. This info shouldn't be ignored and could be the key. A-Jay- Do You Fish The First Bluebird Day After A Front?
X2 Yup - me too. And even in the summer during a full days fishing, it feels like I get a bit of all four seasons in one day. So I'm stripping off clothes and them later piling them back on again - kooky. A-Jay- Micro Guides..is This Good??
