  3. I agree. A 6 inch bait is a great size to use when looking to gain swimbait confidence. Check this out. The Huddleston 68 I was using here is a 6 inch bait with an oversized boot tail. A-Jay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk-JSYwbaz8

A most excellent report ~ Thank you for sharing it. Find & catching smallies (during the heat of summer) is always a challenge and one most guys aren't willing to take on. Good for you. It's interesting & typical at the same time, that so often they just are not where we might expect them to be. But you were willing and able to adapt and you were rewarded for that. Nice Job. A-Jay

  8. Clearly safety is the main priority. However, I use a dim red lens head lamp to change baits, tie knots, unhook fish, etc. Otherwise, I try not to use any light at all, especially white. It totally kills your "night vision" for close to 30 minutes. Moonlight nights are easy and dark nights are more of a challenge, especially if you're target casting your presentation. Letting your eyes acclimate to the darkness takes several minutes but is usually sufficient on all but the darkest of skies and or against a blacked out back round; like the back of a wooded cove. 9. My wife and I do share several common interests as well as enough different / separate interests to provide us enough time alone to make it all work. While I would tend to agree that some common ground is generally considered favorable, I’m not certain it’s the best / only indication determining a relationship’s success. Are there Mom’s out there advising their daughters to look for a man who thoroughly enjoys going shopping at the mall, getting his hair and nails done, doing yoga, playing volleyball, knitting and baking a cake ? 10. Rage Blade ~ very Interesting . . . . A-Jay
  11. I don't - there are just too many other better tasting fish available up here, just depends what's in season. A-Jay
  12. Hey I like fishing in the rain - especially in someone else's boat. A-Jay

  14. OK we'll switch - send me all your tackle . . . . . Oh - and you'll have to shave. A-Jay
  15. I’m making this entry to apologize to the masses. I haven’t been on the water for more than a week and I feel like I’ve left you hanging. Truth is I had an opportunity to turn my “Part Time” Consulting Job into much more. In some ways, it’s a double edged sword; especially since it’s an optional deal. I appreciate the opportunity to broaden my financial horizon but miss the time afloat. Clearly the timing wangs but the $$$ is nothing to sneeze at (and does help support these adventures). So for the next several weeks away, there will be very few (if any) opportunities to pursue The Fat Bass I’ve been looking for. My future plans are to carve out sufficient time as the weather cools to continue my quest. You just never know what each new day will bring . . . . . . . . A-Jay

  21. When the Bass are whacking at a top water bait but not to eating it, they are making a choice not to do so. And it is a choice because if they wanted to eat it they certainly can and would. Often times a weightless fluke worked quickly just under the surface through the area turns a few of those "Hit & Miss" into fish in the net. A-Jay
  22. I know that feeling . . . . . A-Jay
  23. A Texas rigged 10 inch Black Berkley Power worm. It's a bass fishing staple. A-Jay
  24. First Off ~ Welcome to BR ~ ! Looks like a Nice Smallmouth bass to me. A-Jay
