How To Bass Fish At Night?
Heading out into the night to fish whether on the bank or in a boat, you must KNOW the water / areas you intend to fish. You also really need to be intimately familiar with all your tackle and it's use. You must be organized and most of all you need to be safe. Unfamiliarity with the above in complete or even partial darkness truly reduces one's chances of fishing success and safety. I'd encourage you to fish during the day "like you were fishing there at night" I don't mean close your eyes either. Quite on the contrary. Look at where you want to fish at night closely during the Day and LEARN IT. Remember where everything is because that's all you'll have at night. Your mission on these trips does not need to be catching fish, but to prepare you to come back at night and catch fish and to be safe while doing it. When ready, you'll know it. You'll know how, why, where and when to fish certain areas at night. Knowledge and experience gained during the day can and will help guide your actions to success at night. Make sure you tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back. And if you don't return who they should call. The rewards of night ops are many. If a place is good during the day, it's almost Always much better at night. And even places that are very poor producers during the day are often Killer at night. These are my favorites as I often have them all to myself. You might not fish during the day of the warmer months again - I don't. Good Luck A-Jay

Sports Loyalty....
I grew up right out side of Boston, Ma . I was then and am now a Huge sports fan. As a kid in the 60's & 70's - The Celtics were great, The Bruins had some good years, The Red Sox tore your heart out seemed like every year & The "Boston" Patriots were Horrible. Through the years and a career in the service moving all over, I always followed these teams. Helped me stay connected to home. Over the past 40 years it's been one of my life's greatest pleasures to watch and follow these teams through the successes and failures they've each had. The excitement, the anxiety, the heartache and the jubilation is just so good. Taking my son to games in the old Boston Garden and spending long sunny days at Fenway Park, these are times that are hard to match. Though I can respect other cities teams and franchises, I will always follow these teams regardless of their place in the standings. Sports - the First and Only Reality TV. A-Jay

Scent - Yes Or No????
I am also a believer in the utilization of Scent on just about every bait, hard and soft. I lather up the vast majority of my presentations. Pro-Cure Super Gel is my choice. Comes is many "flavors", however the Trophy Bass is the only one I've gotten to. Works so well, I stopped there. A-Jay

Heading Back To The Promise Land
Thank you - and you know you'll get The Good, The Bad and The Ugly as soon as I recover. We're hoping to have more video this time - of course there will have to be quite a bit of pre-post editing. The names and dates will have to be changed to protect the innocent. What Happens at Baccarac, stays at Baccarac . . . . . . A-Jay

Heading Back To The Promise Land
There's two - one on each side of Mexico. The west side storm, named Manuel (which is Ironically the name of our favorite Guide) is closest to our destination and of the most concern. Could hose the logistics and the fishing. Looks like it made land fall Sunday and is mostly a localized Big Rain / Flooding event. These things are never good for anyone but this one looks like it stayed far enough south that we could be OK. A-Jay

When Does Fall Pattern Start?
Usually starts the 2nd or 3rd week of August here. Water temps vary a bit year to year and many things play a role. But once the shallow weeds start to die off and the nights stay cooler than 60 degrees ~ It's on Like Donkey Kong. A-Jay

Shimano Calcutta D Or Daiwa Td Luna For Swimbaits?
This is true - but as the weights of the majority of the swim baits I use are very similar, once the reel is set up there is really no need to make adjustments. Casts very well and is a pleasure to fish. A-Jay
