  1. I guess - as long as the out come was the same and no one got hurt. That Area really needed this and the way they got it was definitely an after thought. A-Jay
  2. Congratulations ~ ! Truly a Fish of a Life Time. Your recent angling accomplishments have inspired a most deserving and fitting Nick Name. From this point on you'll be known as "Big Fish Steve" Nice job. A-Jay
  3. Well, they didn't. And as a Red Sox Fan - I Love them for that. A-Jay
  4. I'm in again ~ PM sent. A-Jay
  5. Remember to describe everything with the "Wicked" in front of it. Wicked Good, Wicked Hard, Wicked Cold, And Wicked Mad. And if you drink too much - you're Wicked "Hammad" Good Luck and I'll call ahead for you and warn them you're coming. A-Jay
  6. Yup - The Lobster has been a real game changer for me too. Of course the Scrounger / Fluke combo is a coming on very strong as well. A-Jay
  7. It's interesting reading the different preferences that each member has. I'm all about Green Pumpkin & Straight Black. They have proven themselves to me Time & Time again. Though it's hard to do, but when the bite is on is when I like to try "new" colors. And there have been times where I've switched off to something else as it seems to be the preference at that time. But when the bite is tough, I'm fishing new water or even looking for a big bite, more often than not, it's got to be Green Pumpkin or Straight Black. A-Jay

    Hey everyone knows 68's don't work A-Jay
  10. Thanks - This evolution was much shorter lived than I had hoped and anticipated. Though the actually fish catching was minimal to say the least, I did learn some things; both about the body of water I chose to fish and about myself. That particular lake, though it does have a healthy population of some of the largest fish in my area, the weed / low lying debris covered bottom does not lend itself to this technique very well at all. And as this is The Slowest presentation I've ever fished, doing this for a while changed my perspective when fishing other baits slowly. So in that sense, I think it helped me. I didn't like coming up so short in the results department so I'd like to take another shot at it again next season. I do believe I'll have to select a different lake. The experience has led me to believe that this is similar to Big Swim bait fishing in that it's a method / presentation that an angler must commit to. Virtually all of my above average size bass caught in this area have come in the spring and fall. I was looking for a method to perhaps but a few in the boat in between these early and late season runs. Stitching was taking me to spots I hadn't fished and presenting a bait in completely different manner. I still believe this can work here, but clearly I was not able to really give it much of a chance. I also learned that this method is much less taxing physically than some presentations but is quite an exercise in slow movement mental focus and concentration. Additionally, a lot goes into the details before and while you're on the water. Finally as for me having a lot of patience, there may be less truth to that than you think. (Just ask Jeff But, I like a good challenge and the opportunity to do something so different was intriguing, still is. The hardest part of it all is Controlling your mind. Admittedly there was long, long periods where nothing was going on but the anticipation and possibilities, made it pretty Intense. A-Jay

  12. Hey - He was with ME, the whole time. There ya go Jeff - now don't forget to bring those bottles you promised. A-Jay
  13. With both offenses getting a second look at the Game 6 starting pitching (a third look for some of the Cards in Lackey's case) There could be a few more hits in the game. As a Baseball Fan - I simply hope who ever is calling the Balls & Strikes is Consistently Correct. The rest will take care of itself. A-Jay
  14. I'll agree with you that it is quite challenging to put into words the particular reason someone else fishes. However, by simply being honest and speaking from the heart your truth will come through. For me, it's the challenge of the hunt, the surprise of the strike, what a difference a day makes, the sheer pleasure of being outdoors, regardless of where or when and sharing it with friends is tough to beat A-Jay
  15. The Boston Beards are up 3 games to 2 and we're headed back to Fenway. A-Jay

Congrats ~ And at least 1/2 of them were fairly coherent. A-Jay
  17. I don't always get drunk, but when I do I hit on your Mother. A-Jay
  18. LOL ~ ! That's Awesome - Me Too. And then the school goes down for the rest of the day ! A-Jay
  19. It has been a Wild, Crazy & Very Close WS. Since the trend has already been set, I'd like to see some more unusual plays ~ An Unassisted Triple Play, A Pitcher Hits a Home Run, Someone hit for The Cycle, or even an Inside the Park Home Run. Whatever happens, I just hope they keep pitching to Big Papi. A-Jay
  20. Picked off first in the bottom of the 9th ~ Wow ! Fenway will be Rocking for game 6. A-Jay
  21. I'm with you Catt, I'll use whatever tackle gets the job done correctly. The OP seemed to be having some problems and a simple tackle switch may fix them a little quicker. A-Jay
  22. You didn't mention if you have a spinning outfit or not but if throwing lighter baits on casting gear for distance is giving you trouble, just use the spinning gear. It's known to be universally versatile and designed to do what you need here. Why force a square peg into a round hole ? As many have mentioned, with a casting outfit that's right for you (and the job) it's a routine event. A-Jay
  23. A Loss is a loss and in the big picture it doesn't matter. A Walk-off Home Run & this type of situation, both still count the same. Of course as a Sox fan, I'm not happy: more with the loss itself and less on how it happened. It was a "Judgment Call" but as a friendly reminder, this is the same Umpire (no need for names) that used his "Judgment" (Incorrectly) to ruin a Perfect Game a couple of seasons ago) - another Horrific Call. On to game 4. A-Jay
