  2. Maybe not but it sure provides a wicked big buffer zone between you and the other anglers. A-Jay
  3. With 33 days to go, Two very positive events happened today. First, I purchased my 2024 Michigan all species fishing license on line today. Second, after a little more RECON, Local Lake Menderchuck appears to be 60 to maybe even 70 % open water. If this were April I would totally expect to be fishing in 2 days or so. But it's the 1st of March for gosh sakes, I have no idea what happens next. I'll start loading my rig with gear this coming week just in case. Middle of the this month is looking more doable than ever. 😁 A-Jay
  4. Probably something like 6 or 7 for me. Just depends on how much commercial air fares are running. But you're a bit closer so you could probably add one or two. Worth it though IMO. A-Jay
  5. Nice - Do they go over or under the Blue Blockers ? A-Jay
  6. Been there ~ The muddier the Boat, Trailer & Truck are, the Better the fishing's been. Clean rig means - well you know, A-Jay

  9. Enjoying my second off day today, (feeling much better) but still chomping at the bit to get back into the home gym. Decided to use this as an opportunity to switch my training schedule up a bit. When you've been training for as long as I have, 'inventing' new ways to keep it funky fresh helps keep me motivated. Took a few minutes to build, but when the smoke cleared, this 5 day split was the result. So I'll be back at it early tomorrow morning (before breakfast) and will be starting this one out with Day 2. Planning on backing everything off (weight, reps & sets) to sort of start from scratch but will build it up as each week progresses. As always - I take an off day between each training day. A-Jay

  15. Hello and welcome to Bass Resource ~ I found this . . . https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/235128619206311/ Probably not a stick I'd use for bass fishing. A-Jay

How did it workout ? Did you successfully solve your own thread ? A-Jay
  17. I have been using the same knots for a while. Because they are easy to tie, (night or day) so that works for me. Additionally, they all have a good beat and are easy to dance to. #americanbandstand SDJ/Pitzen - FC bait connection Single uni knot - Braid/mono bait connection Uni to Uni for any and all leader connections. Blood knot to connect main line to reel backing. I am considering trying the might knot. A-Jay

  19. @casts_by_fly Nicely Done ! Congrats. As always, I am really anticipating my first trip of this 2024 campaign. Might still be at least a couple of weeks away. A-Jay
  20. Saw this one coming a mile away, LOL. I was even tempted to post it for you but I'm right there with you though. However sometime around mid May 'schools' of the little rig wreckers invade a couple of flats I fish regularly. I get all wired up and feed them their favorite chartreuse square bill. (Well it used to be, there ain't much paint on it at this point) Over and over. I will whale a significant number of them for one full morning. Every other cast type deal just to get it out of my system. I call it Pike day and it's when I am seeking a years worth of revenge. And I know you know exactly what I mean. 😃 A-Jay
  21. Push 1 workout this morning. After a full day of working outside yesterday, in the sun I might add, I was feeling a little ruff around the edges for this one. Blew off the core work if that tells you anything. Either way I did what I could, but I will be taking at least two days off after this one to hopefully recover some. #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/LoI_lEi9qGk?feature=shared A-Jay
  22. IME "Wind" is just one piece of 'the puzzle'. Can be a little tricky looking at a single deal when it comes to seeing 'the big picture'. Either way, the wind is almost always a fairly major part of any fishing story. Assuming we are talking safe wind, in almost every scenario, I prefer at least some. But there's a quite a bit more to it (which is what makes all this just a blast). Direction, speed, duration all factor in there some how. Then we throw in seasonal pattern, past, present & even future weather patterns, and the puzzle gets bigger. Like so much in bass fishing, I have found no hard & fast rules when it comes to the wind. There's plenty of 'sometimes' stuff that I can & often do often capitalize on. However, there have been far too many times where, for example 'that special wind blown point' has been a total bust, to call any of this deal a sure thing. I've managed a few decent fish 'in the wind' and have done OK when there was less wind. But as mentioned above Flat A$$ Calm can be some pretty tough sledding, especially up here for northern Brown Bass. Except for night time and early morning topwater, then it's like the south side of Heaven. Fish Hard A-Jay
  23. Yes @Catt But I'll need to shovel the snow here before I can head your way. In the mean time get that FFS machine fired up and tuned in because that's the only way either of us will ever catch any bass ever again. LOL
  24. Parties over but it was nice despite being short lived. As wild as this sounds, we had big time thunder & lightning all night. With big dogs trying to sleep on my face, good times. We're Back to reality. A-Jay
  25. Thanks ~ Glad to hear it Jim. Good Luck but be careful. You might get your arm broke. A-Jay
