  1. OK - I get it - happened to me on trips south of the border at times. Perhaps, don't 'stay up with the boys' at night & participate in reindeer games. Hit the rack early instead; especially the first few nights. Your mind, body & spirit will perform better the next and each subsequent day, if allowed to recover as much as possible after each days fishing. If not, once you get behind the 8 ball, there's no making that back up. A-Jay
  2. Plenty of solid advice offered already in this one. My version is, Practice how you play. If I want to get good at running long distance, I wouldn't prepare by doing push ups. I'd go run long distance. So when I want to get good at fishing a lot, I go fishing a lot. Work up to duplicating what you want to be able to do, and keep doing it. Start off with slow, take time off and then challenge yourself. Eat, Sleep, Hydrate and fish - rinse & repeat. btw - if you stay in decent shape all the time, getting to this point is less of a stretch - just saying. Good Luck A-Jay

  4. Back in the home gym this morning for Workout Day 1. Did end up taking an additional off day. As a veteran lifter, I had to either learn to listen to my inner humanness, or suffer the negative consequences. Ignoring the signs often made a small problem into something else. Either way, I'm back to 4 meals a day, my standard open water regiment. I'll lose some body fat I had fun adding over the winter and get a little weaker (relative term). But I'll eventually feel lighter on my feet and gain some endurance. Both deals come in handy for those Lake Menderchuck deals. #borninfiftynine https://youtu.be/bwNH3epskds A-Jay
  5. @Mobasser WAY TO GO ! So glad to hear you're taking control of your deal and that you feel better as a result. Almost impossible not to IMO. Never too late and the first few steps are the hardest. Keep it going ! And Thank you very much for your support here, I really appreciate it. I know that sounds a little corny but it's true. This thread has over 65K views so you're not the only one checking in, just that very few folks comment, which is fine. I get it. A-Jay
  6. The anglers will be wetting lines here starting today ~ So will it be "nothing new, just an old fashion bass tournament'. Or "catches were way down, we need the Scope !" Either way, should be plenty to talk about, even after Day 1. A-Jay
  7. When you throw it over the side - it suspends perfect level. A-Jay
  8. Just realized they are not fishing today ~ Just a ride around. A-Jay April 1: Check in: 10 am Prayer & National Anthem: 12:50 pm Ride Around: 1 pm – 5 pm April 2 – 3: Full Field Tournament April 4: Final 12 Ease Offs: 7:00 AM Weigh-Ins: 3:00 PM
  9. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  10. While I appreciate the vote of confidence, Mega sized can be such a relative term. I would tell 'your friend', Something's coming ~ Eventually The cinematic team is still 'scrubbing the video'. A-Jay
  11. Short of following these guys around, I'm not sure there's any type of 'coverage' at all for this first one. A-Jay
  12. I hear ya - But YOU KNOW if you offered me that option, you might not have much to cast to for the rest of the day ! A-Jay

  14. Hardest part for me is just putting them on. Sometimes I'm stubborn (OK - All the time), and won't. Always ends up being an unnecessarily uncomfortable ride that includes quite a bit of duck & cover behind the wind screen to prevent a frozen face. SO MUCH BETTER with them on. A-Jay
  15. That 1550 lbs dry hull weight will jump up a bit when you add a tank of fuel, your motor & gear. Still a single axle candidate IMO just ensure the trailer tires included are load rated to meet your needs. I'm thinking a trailer tire load rating of D or maybe even E should do it. Good Luck. A-Jay
  16. My trip across Lake Menderchuck this morning was pretty sweet. On the cooler side, but still worth the price of admission. btw - love the Mad Dog ATV UTV Goggles. A-Jay
  17. Bummer - Glad no one was hurt. Hope you have the Wild Gander Coverage, it's a special this month at All State . . . They've got you covered. A-Jay

    I just bought 3. I like them. A-Jay
  19. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Perhaps direct your question(s) in the rod & reel forum. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/12-fishing-rods-reels-line-and-knots/ A-Jay
  20. LOL ~ I'm trying to picture that disaster, but unless one is as skilled as you are, it seems pretty hard to do. A-Jay
  21. A couple of years ago, I had a decent jerkbait bite going and I was pretty excited about it. I was in some deeper water and my rig was blowing around a bit. Rather than reposition the boat, I stepped to the stern to cast at the fish. Reared back to launch my favorite (at the time) Vision 110+1 into orbit, and the bait clipped one of the Talons. Both my reel and the bait blew up. Made no attempt to pick out the backlash, simply retired the rig to the rod locker. Ended up taking the snips to it later and and re-spooling with fresh 10 FC. As a reminder, I kept the busted up bait. Still use it as a $25 casting plug in the yard. Morale of this story is, stay on the bow. A-Jay
  22. Workout Day 5 this morning. My lower back was barking at me so I accounted for that. Skipped the core work. Might need an additional off day. Have to see how it goes. It's always something. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  23. Tongue & Cheek comment. Used the OP's own words. Seems he understands perfectly well what the challenges are here, yet is unwilling to modify anything to improve his deal. For the price of a pizza and a half a tank of gas, he could. A-Jay
