A Four-pound Indicator
I need to guess which lake to fish, when to go, which bait to throw and where to cast. Once I get all that right, I'm done guessing. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Workout Day 2 ~ My old man back was barking at me when I got up this morning. Aftermath of some serious snow removal operations yesterday. It kind of ticked me off just enough to get me to grind through this training. Looking forward to my day off tomorrow. There's already more snow out there, but it's not going anywhere. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Got Some Mojo Back Today
Here's a little friendly advice from a very amateur content creator. First off, the journey can be rewarding. However, IMO, it requires focusing on intrinsic joy over immediate growth. Creating content that you genuinely enjoy making and watching is essential; if you wouldn't watch your own video, it is difficult to maintain the passion required to succeed, often causing many to burn out trying to chase views. Starting out solely for views is a tough road, as it often leads to low-quality content and lack of consistency. Genuine passion drives consistency, helps me improve, and builds a stronger community. When I enjoy the process, I create better, more authentic content, allowing me to turn a hobby into a fulfilling creative outlet. Bottom line: make stuff you like to watch while staying true to yourself. In 15 years, I've posted over a thousand videos. Views are pretty minimal. Not doing it to make money. Good Luck A-Jay

Winter 2025 ~ 2026
I am pretty sure that when the local forecast is predicting snow totals using feet instead of inches, we're getting buried. #snowmagetion2026 ☹️ A-Jay

Northern Bassin’ Angst
It's still only March. Local action is a ways off for this guy. It's easy for me to know because today I was doing this, so . . . . . https://www.facebook.com/reel/1469284261556816/ A-Jay

Winter 2025 ~ 2026
The cleanup of round one went well. Standing by for round 2 and this one’s forecast to be a real doozy ! https://www.facebook.com/life.at.the.45th.parallel/posts/pfbid02a3sDXdoWrU1jobJC9gS47M8Udp9yEDB7FfrsMqneHPhXwNsGu2hswsw3m5tDKhtl A-Jay

Winter 2025 ~ 2026
If this weekend's forecast is even half right, we are going to get hammered with snow. Like 1-3 inches an hour type stuff—it's a little nuts. Not even going to post the NWS graphic. It's too ugly. 😐 A-Jay

Plyometric Training
You plyometric training studs are a lot braver than I am. At this point, ballistic and/or impact-type resistance movements are my arch enemy. Way too much risk for injury for this guy. Train Hard, Smart & Safe. A-Jay

Maybe don't use my local Arctic like weather as a barometer for anything except perhaps Siberia and Crazy Town. 🙃 A-Jay

What is your price point of Diminishing Returns on rods and reels?
Agreed ~ at 66 myself, I do most of my jerkbait work with spinning gear. Have been for years. I got the P5 mostly to give my right wrist / arm a break a few times a day. We'll see how it goes. Sure feels good casting in the snow. 🙂 A-Jay

Winter 2025 ~ 2026
We're getting blasted again this weekend. So glad I just stocked up on all the lawn fertilizer for the summer and there's a new set of trailer tires for the Pro-V Bass coming tomorrow. Timing is everything. 🥶 A-Jay

Tics
@FryDog62 I am very sorry to hear about your wife & son. Hoping for the best for them. Not even sure what else to say. We spend plenty of time in places where ticks live. They are a part of life here. We have no secret to preventing them because I do not believe one actually exists. Taking all the precautionary measures already mentioned above helps. Early detection is key. Having the proper tool and knowledge to remove them correctly from both humans & animals (if you have them) can be essential. I would routinely make an attempt at some comical type remark about how many ticks we have here. Seems wildly inappropriate now, and I apologize deeply for my previous indiscretions. Stay Safe A-Jay

Centuries or Eons worth of fishing here? Let's Find Out!
Wow ~ What would happen if we brought this one back ? Some of us have already responded, but this thread was last updated 16 years ago. Left off at 3203 years. I can add 15 more, so we're starting it up again with 3218 years of documented bass fishing knowledge & experience. Not sure I can actually comprehend that. And we still get skunked ! Awesome 🦨 A-Jay

when the fishing isn't ideal, are you listening to anything? music?
I do realize this isn't exactly in the music category. However for those of us who live & fish in the more northern areas, where the leaves hit the ground annually. How fun is it to listen to EVERY property owner surrounding every lake we fish, BLOWING LEAVES ALL DAY. I love that ! #not I get it, but man, it totally kills what would otherwise be such a gorgeous and serene setting. Someone needs to get these folks some headlamps. ☹️ A-Jay

How many miles do you go to fish?
Been there. Hate it. But even now, just the thought of drifting across the double yellow line and changing someone's family forever, is gut-wrenching. Stay Safe. A-Jay

How many miles do you go to fish?
I simply must do a version of this for survival. I used to fish (as a younger A-Jay) until I was gassed. First light to last light and beyond at times, and then the ride home was often, and I'm being kind, pretty sketchy. Super early wake-up and all day on the water followed by a long ride home is a recipe for disaster. So I had to change my ways. One third of my human gas is used to get to the water and fish, and then I have 2/3 in my human tank for the ride home. When I first started this, I always felt like I was leaving 'early.' But truth be told, the bite had been over for two hours. Why was I still there ? Half-day trips are more the norm for me now. Much safer. Also allows me to safely fish a few days in a row and stay on the bite. If you are doing the head bob & weave while driving home, please reconsider your actions. A-Jay

A-Jay's Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~ 2025-2026 Edition
All night we had wicked thunder, lightening and downpours being blown sideways in a stiff wind. We woke to realize, it wasn’t rain falling, but ice. First response? Please not again. (For reference, search #icestorm2025 ) Looking out at what remains of our trees absolutely flipped my stomach (we lost at least 75% of our trees last March) Our pines, barely recovered from last year, are caked in ice weighing them down to the ground. Our birdhouses have been transformed to igloos and the south side of our house and shed are caked so solid, I couldn’t break the ice (didn’t want to cause damage) to open the door and get out. https://www.facebook.com/ThePAWZ/posts/pfbid0g6AmEwvcrKbftaX1yP6Q4Y9msoUWzsQAELdBn3UpTyHCqW5hWkrKMB6tBQLCEqN2l A-Jay
