Chatterbait colors
Between water temp, color & turbidity, sunny, over cast & even just low light, it's so hard to know from day to day what the heck they will respond to. At least for me it is. I'm trying to have my bases covered. And this is what it looks like when I get it right https://youtu.be/zIqCmH_52IQ?t=387 A-Jay

Flat sided crankbait craze - options and experiences?
The 6th Sense Crush Flat 75X Crankbait has been catching bass for me for many years. Added the OG Slim this spring, so we'll see how that goes. A-Jay

A-Jay's 4th Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
3 Weeks 1 Day & a wake up ~ Not super interesting on the syrup deal, but I will be very happy to see daytime high temperatures begin to rise above freezing for a change. We might pull this one off just yet . . . (won't mention the 5 inches of snow we got yesterday) A-Jay

Cynical
@WRB Tom, your reputation here as well as your bass fishing legacy, are untouchable. You enjoy superior support because you've earned it. Anyone offering anything else is drowning in their own insignificance. Please rest assured that you are respected and held in the highest regard. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Back in the day my battle cry in the gym was "No Pain - No Gain"; regardless of the cost. Not any more though, now it's more about form, recovery & consistency. Probably should have been that way all along. A-Jay

New lures for 2022
Had to revise this one ~ Last season the Megabass Vision 110 +1 Jr. was the new deal. This time around it's a HD Goby & a Soft Bladed Vibrating Jig. #CRS A-Jay

The Road To The Super Bowl 2022
I said the same thing to my son, who's a huge TB12 fan. A couple weeks of taking the kids to school, making the bedand cleaning up dog poop was apparently enough. A-Jay

Line capacity/dumb question
I fish 20 lb Tatsu south of the border - hard. Great line IMO. As for the diameter vs other FC and Mono at the same test, it's a 'little thinner' but not enough to make a small capacity reel seem over sized. I'd say, if you need 20 FC and you're not bombing casts, this is a good choice for that reel. If you Need 20 FC and plan on putting baits into orbit, I'd consider a bigger reel or perhaps go to a braid. Good Luck A-Jay

Line capacity/dumb question
Nope ~ It's a Total Krap Shoot. I got tired of trying to figure out what type of totally inconsistent wizardry they used. So now I fill just about every reel I have with 1/3 third spool mono backing and top the rest of it off with whatever my mainline of choice for that reel may be; FC / Braid. Don't really need mono backing for a mono reel. A-Jay

Am I nuts buying Tatsu ?
15 lb Tatsu is a bit pricey on TW - unless you have a coupon. Amazon is almost always cheaper https://www.amazon.com/Seaguar-200-Yard-Fluorocarbon-Fishing-15-Pound/dp/B003OAVUMK/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3J8W3BG6H96MX&keywords=seaguar%2Btatsu%2B15&qid=1647199819&sprefix=seaguar%2Btatsu%2B15%2Caps%2C86&sr=8-1&th=1&psc=1 A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
No question that there is a list of things I can't do now that I could, 10 or 20 years ago. But it's not a long list. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Removing Components from Broken Rod
The only components I'll retain is the guide train and that's only if it's it most perfect condition. Not sure I'd be able to 're-use' much of the rest. Don't possess the experience or skill for that that deal. I do use an old rod section hacked up just past the handle to strip or add line in the tackle room. Good Luck A-Jay

Solo launching Jon Boat with no ramp and a small drop off and sand...Would this work?
Attempting to tow your boat on the trailer in any manner other than it was designed, will at some point damage something. My guess, the first thing to go would be your trailer jack/wheel. It's not meant for all terrain nor that type of stress; I'd not recommend it. That said, I can feel you pain. I fish from a Rigged out canoe that I trailer. There are many places I can launch & recover easily and some places I just have to pass on. This sounds like of of those. You could always get a kayak. Good Luck A-Jay

LONG CASTS
- Silly Cabin Fever Question ~
A TOY company makes an action figure of YOU What TWO accessories does it come with ? Bonus points if you name him/her Mine is wearing a complete HUK Outfit and is carrying a Poop-a-Scooper I'm actually afraid to put a name to that . . . A-Jay- Braided line - which ones stand out?
These lines work well for me as well. I will add that Power Pro Maxcuatro is also very good for me. Just don't ask me to pronounce it. A-Jay- Working to Stay Lean ~
Off Day today ~ and I need it. It's also 'meal prep day'. 4.5 lbs Garlic Herd Chicken Thighs (broiled) 3 lbs Ground Turkey (93/7) Browned Baked Sweet Potatoes Basmati Rice w/Turmeric Whole Grain Pasta (blend of semolina, lentils, chick peas with oats, flaxseed and barley) Steamed Broccoli, Green Beans & Asparagus . Cooking this stuff in advance and in bulk is the way to go for me. Takes some time and effort today but helps keep me on track in the long run. Missing meals is counter productive. I'll hammer away on this until it's almost gone and then ramp it all up again. #feedajay A-Jay- Winter 2021/22
Sub-zero wind chill here this morning. But next week's forecast has me smiling A-Jay- Marshal..MLF Pro Circuit
