  1. Yup ~ I like the hook size & stoutness as well as the shape of that lead. Expect to use it on a couple other deals as well. Just about anything that I want to 'slide' along the bottom. Let's not tell anyone . . . . . A-Jay
  2. Thanks ~ Coincidentally, those jigheads I'm using are actually the 'guts' from totally tore up dark sleepers. #repurpose A-Jay
  3. I have not, in fact this is the first I've seen of them. Looks like a decent bait. Like the size & weight options. Colors & patterns seem especially appropriate, especially for up this way. Price point is about half the Dark Sleeper too. I throw these baits in mostly open water deals, (too many pike in the weeds) so the first thing I'd be looking to do is Snip that hunk of line off it. Might check them out. Thanks btw - I've got a little new to me goby bait I'm banking on quite a bit, so until I have a feeling for how that goes, most everything else is on hold. A-Jay
  4. Nice looking bait. But (except for the first bait pictured) right off, I'm not seeing much in the way of a 'bite' between the bait body & the hook point. Always hard to tell in a pic. Either way, I'd be checking these out when available. A-Jay
  5. I don't always fish a worm, but when I do it's usually a Cut - R Worm A-Jay
  6. I am a big sucker for "Ghost" patterns. Clear-ish bodies with subtle colors and or a mostly subdued pattern. Perch, Bluegill, alewife, and even red/brown/green crayfish deals. Like this on topwater baits as well. Doesn't hurt that there's a few of these in my possession that are sporting some well earned teeth marks. Fish Hard A-Jay
  7. I'm still working on learning these baits myself. 110's are good baits. Seems they will get bites for me most anytime the bass are willing to eat a jerkbait. Most quality baits will work IMO. I'd recommend getting one or two in each of three categories; shallow running, deep running & 'silent'. Then it's a matter of figuring out where & when to present each. Good Luck A-Jay

  11. Jordan Lee working on a 29 pound Day 2. Good enough for second as the 3rd period is underway. A-Jay
  12. Hello David and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Are you thinking of Jerry McKinnis perhaps ? A-Jay
  13. Not sure there's a bait I don't 'use enough'. I will admit that I wish I used the net more though . . . A-Jay
  14. This is the current regiment. It's a basic 3 Day Split of Legs-Push-Pull-day off deal. I may vary this a bit but not a ton. Day off after both "Pull" workouts. These take me about 90 minutes including the warm up; which is always a major priority. A-Jay
  15. Thanks And I certainly can relate to that deal. I'm in the middle of a Push workout that feels like I'm working with double the gravity ! Not a fan A-Jay
  16. Most every new deal I've choosen to venture into, has paid off. May have taken a season or two, but there's been at least some varied level of success. Most recently the A-Rig, The Rat and The Vibrating Jig come to mind. However, there almost always needs to be at least one stink pickle, and the Glide bait was that for me. Never got a sniff with it. After 3 seasons worth of casts, Sold them. I will also completely omit my 'Stitching a worm' crash and burn. Fish Hard A-Jay
  17. Fixing to be a little bit of everything this weekend in northern Michigan -- ice, rain, wind, power outages, localized flooding . . . . Good Times A-Jay
  18. Just over 9 months now and still pretty much in constant motion. #tankslife A-Jay
  19. Day off yesterday helped fuel this one. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

  21. That is Awesome ! Good Luck A-Jay
  22. Jerkbait Vibrating Jig Jerkbait. Wait, I already listed that one . . . Oh well. A-Jay
  23. My preference for walking baits is with spinning gear. 7' M stick with a good tip, a 30 size reel with 15-20lb braid and a 10/12 lb mono leader. I can launch a cast quite a ways, seems less fatiguing for me and I can get a nice rhythm going. Never have any problems with line management. https://youtu.be/NXe4pjKWF00?t=148 https://youtu.be/PNaFczbbKEU?t=36 A-Jay
  24. Rain is good ! Until it gets down to the mud. Then it's at least a couple of weeks of dirty dog towels all around. A-Jay
  25. Fish Catch Friday ~ After the PB Musky and the parade of big Green Bass, I bringing this one back with the local flair of topwater Brown Bass ~ 4 Weeks 5 Days & a Wake Up ~ A-Jay
