Post a photo a day!
Cells are rolling through every hour or so. They don't last too long but certainly get my attention. We've been losing Power as well as everything else (Cable Phone & Internet) with every other blast. No hail yet so that's a good sign I think. The warning is in effect until 11 pm. #keepyourheaddown Hope it blows through as forecast, I'm rigged up to be on the water first light. A-Jay

Stoopid moments fishing stories
Last fall I was throwing a jig around down south. Hooked in to a (stick) but thought it was a big bass. Busted the rod in half on the hook set but continued to 'fight' that stick bass all the way to the net. Looking back at it now, that whole deal was pretty "Stoopid". https://youtu.be/1to6ti-tlZY?t=620 A-Jay

Experienced anglers. Do you still backlash?
I still get them now & then. Fishing at night taught me to be happy with the reel tuned a little tight. What I may lose in distance I feel like I gain in less down time and perhaps having to re-spool less often. FC does not respond well to that type of stress and frankly, neither do I. ? A-Jay

What is your go to shad color?
A clean - Dry bait is important. Let your work dry over night for best results. The pens we use are garlic scented so a buffer zone for the work area can help. Adding "Gills" never seemed to add bites and can jack up the bait a bit (no recommended). Store the pens tip down. Finally yes, the colors will fade and do feather in nicely. Hope that helps. A-Jay

What is your go to shad color?
I don't throw a lot of 'shad' patterns locally as it's rarely a prime forage choice here. However, my Mexican adventures always include a "shad" pattern. For cranks it's the citrus shad And for swim baits, we have our best luck with a sexy shad. However it's a home made type flavor done with Spike-It Bait Pens over a mostly Pearl colored bait. But it's totally Money ! Fish Hard A-Jay

Ewg vs round bend treble debate
Plus size short shank EWG trebles on everything for me, includes the dressed tail hook. I go out of my way to either not buy lures with Round bend trebles installed, or take the time to remove and swap everyone out for short shank EWG's. Fish Hard A-Jay

Talk to me about the Big TRD....
My concern with this tackle choice revolves around casting distance and how that light bait will "fish". For reference, I use what is listed above to successfully deliver 3/4 oz walking baits dressed with three 1x #1 & #2 sized treble hooks to stout brown bass. Let me know how it goes. Perhaps I should bump up my ned rigs. A-Jay

Talk to me about the Big TRD....
That's the one for me too as well as the Owner Block Head I will use a slightly heavier head if & when I need a little more distance on the cast and/or when I'm fishing the bait a bit deeper. Keep an eye on your hook size when using very light line though. Both these jig heads have a somewhat stouter wire hook gauge. It's why I like them but if & when a bigger bass clamps down on the bait, hooksets with 6 lb line or less can get a little tricky. I usually use an 8lb Tatsu leader in front of 8 or 10lb braid. A-Jay

Talk to me about the Big TRD....
I rarely fish the small TRD any more. The Big TRD just seems to get a little bigger fish for me. And when conditions dictate, I've been know to snip a bit off the Big one. Makes a nice 'in between' size offering. My second biggest Brown bass ever - slurped the big TRD on a flat calm spring morning. Easily one of my favorite fish catches ever . . . https://youtu.be/3OXnPQs0bqQ?t=61 FishHard A-Jay

Puppy help needed
Your solution is call umbilical cord training. Umbilical Cord Training is a housebreaking method that’s pretty much what it sounds like – your dog is attached to you with a cord (his leash) throughout the day. It’s a supervision-based program that requires vigilance but yields excellent results with just about every dog or puppy. This method works well in conjunction with other methods, such as crate training. Here's more info ~ https://thehousebreakingbible.com/training-umbilical-cord-training/ https://www.martindaleanimalclinic.com/userfiles/Umbilical-Cord-Housebreaking-Method.pdf Good Luck A-Jay

PayPal has me RILED UP!!!
I try not to assume, especially here. Instead I try to take posts at face value. If we have a desire to use services that require a mobile phone number, including paypal, we have a choice to make. Admittedly I was fairly leery about adding my mobile number to several accounts. Turns out, that was more my own 'concern' and has to this point only proved beneficial. A-Jay This is a real thing . . PayPal has me RILED UP!!!
I've had a PayPal account for several years & use it frequently. Works perfectly when I play by their rules. As mentioned, times have changed, we can either change with them or get left behind. "Why" may be nice to know but it serves me better to use that focus & energy swimming with the tide rather than against it. I dragged my feet for a long time but a few years ago I finally broke down & got a phone. Don't have the latest or greatest, but it does the job. Unless I am going to stay locked in my basement for the rest of my days, pretty much seems like a necessity these days. Maybe just get a phone & learn how to use it. Good Luck A-Jay

What specific baits do you have tied on at all times? In other words, what bait specific rods do you have?
From March/April through November/December, my waters, seasons & certainly the conditions, can & do vary wildly. Most every rig pulls some type of 'double duty'. Early season Jerkbait rods double as open topwater rigs as the waters warm. Vibrating jig sticks double as Spinnerbait and crankbait wands as the action dictates. My jig rods delivers frogs when it's right. Drop shot rigs throw tubes & small swimbaits. Hair jig blank gets to visit with Ned on occasion. So there's that . . . Fish Hard A-Jay
