  1. Thank you. In my world ~ Roll = Magic. A-Jay
  2. Got it ~ Sage decision. A-Jay
  3. Like the looks of that one. Is there a size preference ~ 100 or 120 ? A-Jay
  4. The fish I'm targeting are usually feeding on perch, small bluegill / pumpkinseed & crayfish. A-Jay
  5. When the structure, cover & bottom composition are right, skirted jigs are effective for me. Admittedly, I do prefer a 'slightly' smaller profile. Not necessarily a tiny presentation but just something a big smallie can properly choke. These usually do include something smaller than a 5/0 flipping hook. For size reference, the Strike King Hack Attack Fluorocarbon Flipping Jig in the 3/8 & 1/2 oz size as well as the Strike King Denny Brauer Structure Jig in 1/2 oz both work for me in cover laden situations. And don't neglect a brown basses attraction to eating a properly presented hair jig . . . . A-Jay
  6. Thanks ~ Are you sure ? Just think of the hole shot ! Is that the New Boat Monkey I just heard ? A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  8. With air temps over night in the low 50's and a day time forecast that includes 65 degree temps, cloudy and 30% rain (mostly early), today's round may see a bit of an up tick in both size & numbers. The weather forecast for the Knockout & the Championship rounds looks very similar, perhaps a bit warmer. Let's Go . . . A-Jay
  9. Sitting right at 30 Days now. Need a tropical heat wave . . A-Jay
  10. The SK KVD Deep has been a productive bait for me and doesn't cost an arm & a leg. I do change the hardware. A-Jay
  11. Really been liking the new Mercury ProXS quite a bit. They didn't give it away but so far, it's been worth every penny. A-Jay
  12. Nothing to hate about that ! A-Jay
  13. Don't really know what to expect tomorrow but the knockout round might get very interesting.... A-Jay
  14. OK, so it's the end of the second period for this Qualifying Round – Day 2 – Group A. There's 2.5 more hours to fish today. Two Questions ~ 1. Will anyone catch & possibly surpass MDJ for first place ? and 2. Clearly there's a lot on the line, but is it just me, or does Mr Sprague seem to be wound a little tight ? A-Jay
  15. Sorry to hear this my friend. Touched base with the lodge down south, seems a few 'groups' have canx some trips scheduled for this month. Lodge is offering some very attractive $$ in hopes of getting replacement bassheads down there. Unfortunately no way to know what the future will bring. Hoping this mess is a bad memory sooner rather than later - for both of us. 212 days and a Wake Up. A-Jay
  16. Yup ~ Totally Agree. I've been fishing a flat sided squarebill early & late season, in shallow(er) water, like described above by @papajoe222 for a while now. With fair amount of success. (Note - Regrettably, the bass in this clip was leaking pretty good but did swim off when released) A-Jay
  17. I have been using the Original Megastrike for several years. HUGE FAN. Been using the "crayfish" past two years - IMO Equally effective. Replacing the cap can be convenient too. A-Jay
  18. With less than an hour left in the first period, MDJ is sneaking up on the century mark. Pretty impressive. A-Jay
  19. Maybe ~ While I like watching guys catch big bass, and without getting into the weeds on why, I'm not a big fan of sight fishing beds to begin with. So while I understand 'the rule' and do believe that the Mike Long snagger approach is totally bush league, this particular situation probably occurs more than we know and may come with the territory when dragging baits around in stained super shallow water. A-Jay
  20. Think I heard him say during the fight that he wan't sight fishing that fish - so it may not matter A-Jay
  21. Seems this area is in a sort of suspended animation. Not getting worse but not really getting any better either. Better being- overtly obvious conditions that promote open water. A-Jay
  22. Sharing time with your son doing something you both love ~ might not get much better than that. Here's to doing more of that and staying reasonably comfortable. Sending some Good Mojo your way. A-Jay
