My casting gear is either FC or braid. My spinning rigs are all braid. Quality FC is fairly durable and depending on a rigs use & or abuse - FC spooled rigs can last a season for me. Either way I only replace the 'top shot' down to backing (mono) if & when I need to. Braid routinely goes 'several' seasons before needing replacement and that's usually because it's getting short on the spool; again only replaced down to the mono backing (about 1/3 backing 2/3's braid). Also, I will 'end for end' both FC & braid down to the backing one time, before I can it. Saves a little $$. I never empty spools at seasons end just because - unless I plan to have a particular reel(s) serviced professionally. btw - bulk line purchase during big sales is a good thing. I prefer the Pop Max - I like the bigger profile as I believe it targets the bigger bite I'm looking for. If you watched the video I posted and the fish release clip, you may notice that the waters I'm fishing are Super Clear. Accordingly extremely long casts are very important. Having my top water baits in 4-10 ft of water as far from the boat as possible, really increases bite potential. That said, I need to be able to hook a fish way out there. A semi-long medium spinning stick (7' - 7'4") & 10-20lb braid does all of that for me. A-Jay

I'll say Yes. It's the only one I use. It worked so well, I stopped there. And as mentioned previously, it doesn't really have a scent, per se. More of an essence . . . A-Jay I have had this happen so many times, it's mind blowing. Multiples times on video too. May not be a magic bullet, but it certainly is not reducing my chances any. YMMV A-Jay

Happy Thanksgiving~ With the holiday season upon us, my own self discipline is tested. Staying 'close' to a reasonable diet and making sure I'm getting in the gym routinely, can be tricky. @scaleface I'm pretty old school on this one. The Silver Buddy in 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4 oz does just about everything I need when it comes to blade baits. (pictured below ~ above the hair jigs) I like the silver and 'tin' in the sunshine and the gold for scattered or full on cloudy days. A-Jay

I like fishing topwater baits - Walkers & Poppers mostly. And like most of my fishing, I believe that color plays some role; in topwater as well. How much ? Can't say for certain and everything else I offer here on the subject, is a guess. It does seem, that there are times where color plays virtually no role and in others, seems to be the whole enchilada. These 'theories' are based on a few decades experience but are in no way, set in stone. Bottom line, I don't know what a bass sees or how it see it. When something works, I'll stick with it - until it doesn't. Then, it's on to something else. A-Jay

The final objective is to illicit strikes from big brown bass. The baits are simply tools and I prefer to have a few different ones at my disposal. Seems to help - Spring, Summer & Fall. btw - Thank you for the support @jbsoonerfan. A-Jay

@cgolf I have & do fish the Shadow Rap and the Shadow Rap Shad - both shallow & deep offerings. (Just couldn't fit that particular box into the picture). Again - another quality bait that can & does catch bass. It does have a slightly smaller profile, so I'm only using this one if & when that seems to be the preferred deal. Generally I like a bit larger bait but those Rapala jerkbaits still have a place in my arsenal. A-Jay

Never said I had all the answers ~ I simply have never seen how the bait's 'sitting' make a difference. My version of 'why' revolves around when a bass is in pursuit of a bait fish - whatever the right 'opportunity' to strike it is -might not be determined by the bait's 'angle' in the water column. Manufacturers have wanted me to believe it matters for a while now - I don't buy it. Once I started changing hooks - I get all types of 'actions' and they all keep getting bit. YMMV A-Jay

I am not a fan of the Katsuage out-barb treble hooks. No doubt it's sharp - just a little thin for my liking. Will it hook & catch fish - for sure. I still change every one - right out of the box. In fact I recently sent 'Several Dozen' new ones to @roadwarrior who is a fan apparently. But that's just me. I'm a nut case. It's replaced with a #4 Gamakatsu EWG Treble Short Shank Magic Eye. That's up to you I guess - and not to Hi-Jack this thread . . . . Most LC baits comes stock with a better than average treble IMO. I'll often fish them as is but when one is 'the bait' for a day or a trip or two, I'll keep a close eye on them. And just to be clear, I change out stock trebles because of three main reasons; Point sharpness, hooking / holding ability, durability & strength under the load of a long(er) fight from a trophy fish. In most instances, I prefer an 1X strong EWG treble. Finally, the question / concern of a bait's 'balance' is often mentioned when replacing trebles. In my fishing, I have ZERO concern regard how a bait 'sits' (nose up, down or anything in between), Fish don't care. If they are going to eat a bait - they'll eat it regardless of it's 'posture'. Addicted to Jerkbaits ~ Guilty as charged. The Vision oneten and oneten plus have accounted for several very respectable brown bass for me. But so has the Lucky Craft 100's & 100 Deep. Additionally, the SK KVD 300 & 300 Deep both kill it for me. And long before any of that noise - the Rapala Husky Jerk and the Deep model, along with the Smithwith Rattle Rogue, were sticking fatties both early & late season. IMO, there are a ton of quality baits in this category that can & do get the job done. Based on each of our different locals, environments and even the way we present these baits - each may find success with a different make & model. To answer the OP's question - I say yes, the 110 is a great bait that out performs some baits in some conditions. But it's not the only one I fish because it's not the only one that catches. A-Jay
