  2. During my 'bunk replacement research', I remember reading here somewhere that you had used them. Helped with the decision for sure. #credibility A-Jay
  3. My boat trailer bunk replacement is complete. Took my time, the process went smoothly and really couldn't have been any easier. Shot some video of the install which is loading up now. I'll post it up in a new / separate thread but will also add the link here when it's ready. Bye Bye carpet bunks . . . . A-Jay
  4. New bunk boards were delivered yesterday via Fedex. First impressions right out of the rather extensive & secure packaging are; seems like a quality built and most stout product. SS Hardware & instruction included were complete. Expect the removal of the old & the install of these new bunks to be a snap. I like that part. After handling these bunk, I'd have a hard time believing that these things would ever wear out. Plan is to drop the Pro-V in local Lake Menderchuck today sometime mid-morning and complete the work in the parking lot. More to follow (Pics at the very least and perhaps an install video) A-Jay

  7. I'd have to see it to believe it. A-Jay
  8. Besides standing on it - most all the 'work' done on my front deck involves a good bit of kneeling. Seems the non-skid properties of that surface might not be the most comfortable deal on the old knee caps. A-Jay
  9. Yea- ~ That was one of the more crazy deals I've seen in a while. A-Jay
  10. They are an out of production Berkley Power bait offering. A-Jay
  11. Zako & Rage Bug on Vibrating jigs And this is a fair example of my swim jig trailer preferences ~ A-Jay

  13. What about combining live bait with an artificial lure ? Like throw an A-Rig with one or two live minnows added to the spread . . That could be crazy . . . A-Jay
  14. While variety can be the spice of life, I look at my gear as tools and prefer the right ones for the job. Sometimes we may need to fish a few to find out exactly what we might like or not like. That said, my current arsenal contains offerings from Shimano, Quantum, St Croix, Lamiglas, Fenwick, Rainshadow, Okuma, G Loomis and Diawa. You should also know that the Bait monkey is presently holding a gun to my head...... A-Jay
  15. Really glad to hear it ! Here's a little bit more "advice". Developing an effective & safe 'routine' can really be very helpful. The steps for hooking up & unhooking your trailer to & from your tow vehicle, don't really change much. Neither does launching & recovering your rig on & off the trailer. Consider following the same steps (routine) every time and you'll be setting your self up for success. Additionally, Regardless of how "Busy" the boat ramp is - never let that make you get in a hurry or change your routine. If other boaters are in that much of a hurry they should have left earlier. And be careful who you accept "help" from, if you even choose to do that - I Do NOT- Ever. There's no way for you to know what a strangers experience or ability level is - Although they always have the best of intentions, they very well may not be very helpful at all. While everyone has their own 'way' of doing things, theirs may not be yours. I usually just smile, say thank you for asking, but I'm good. Have Fun A-Jay
  16. For a while we had 8 malamutes - The hair was Out-Rageous. Pretty much a condiment around here. A-Jay
  17. Take your time and let the weather conditions (wind & waves if there are any) work to your advantage. Meaning, ALWAYS launch & recover your boat on & of the trailer so that the wind in blowing your rig back onto the dock (if there is one). Never stray from this and you'll be a happy sailor. Here's what that looks like. btw - the Talons can be helpful here. A-Jay
  18. You're Welcome - And I get it - but I could send you some. We have Plenty A-Jay
  19. I have tried several - it's all casting gear used here and it needs to be stout. These fish are serious mutants. Started with the St Croix Tidemaster line - no good. The ferrule design is the weak link - every one failed. Still like St Croix & fish several of their rods - just not a fan of that travel rod. Currently fishing G Loomis Escape Series - HM & H sticks - a little short at only 6'9" but after several trips they all remain intact. My favorite travel rod but these sticks are unfortunately hard to find. Also fish Fenwick "Methods" travel rods. Bought these a few years ago; also sort of hard to find. Much less $$$ than the G Loomis, a little longer and every bit as good. Again MH & H action casting rods. Another option to consider is the lodge rents some quality gear - all new quality this year. It's the right tackle for job and the $$ is less than what you'd pay purchasing it. Beyond that it's a whole lot more convenient to travel without rods - even travel rods. You can PM me when you get serious and are looking for more details. I can put you in touch with the human who works for the lodge and will have the answers to every question & concern you may have regarding every aspect of this most awesome experience. A-Jay
  20. To get simple sand & road grit up & out, I go with a Dyson Animal ~ (I have double coated dogs - it's a requirement) To help dry the carpet after a day in the wetness and after a carpet shampoo - a wet/dry vac works for me. And this is what that looks like. A-Jay

  23. Wading is any situation / environment wearing hip boots or waders, where there's wet rock (streams, ocean surf, rock jetty) the "rocks" are always INCREDIBLY slippery. Felt soles are helpful, as are Boots with steel, carbide or titanium spikes or cleats. The standard hip boots may say 'cleated soles' but they are often not referring to anything as noted above, just indicating that they are advertising them as having traction (relative term). For simple boat trailer work in and around a sand, gravel, or cement ramp - felt sole may not really be needed but may not hurt to have them either. Hope that helps. A-Jay
  24. New England shut out Miami 43-0. AB looked decent with a first quarter TD. The Dolphins had a pretty tough day. A-Jay
  25. Wish we could have figured out how to keep all that going. (without the massive loss of life I mean) ? A-Jay
