Put's a Giant Black Eye on the sport. Bassheads who competed within the rules may have been swindled. Moving forward, any & most all hard earned success experienced by an angler, (especially repeated success) despite being conducted well within the rules, will be questioned - as unfairly at it may seem. The whole thing's a hot mess. Some one should but the man on a suicide watch - . . I can see it coming. A-Jay

Favorite Swim Jig Paddle Tail Soft Plastics ?
I prefer subtle as far as the paddletail action on a swimjig. Pictured are a discontinued Berkley Powerbait offering I stock piled a while back. (don't remember the name). For currently available trailers, Swim Senkos, RI Little Dipper and the 3.5 & 4 inch Keitech Swing Impact Swimbaits fit the bill. A-Jay

Megabass Pop X
Thanks ~ While I'm not exactly sure what a "True Popper Situation" is, I was presenting the bait over isolated clumps of weed submerged in 4-8 feet. (Admittedly not readily visible in the video). It was Flat calm though. That seems like a Popper Situation to me . . . and the Bass apparently. While I can not argue the effectiveness of the Pop X - the extra heft & bulk of the Pop Max seems to generate interest from more of the class fish I'm looking for - all be it less bites over all, but stouter bass. KAYAK ANGLERS: DON'T PANIC!
One of the final components of a search & recuse case, if there were any, was the 'survivor interview'. Some of the repeatedly mentioned aspects of the sudden & unexpected first time small boat capsizing that victims often reported to me include but are not limited to; Surprised how heavy and difficult it was to just move when fully clothed & submerged - and swimming was very difficult and quickly exhausting. Certain bulky footwear can contribute to this. Didn't think the water 'was so cold' - regardless of the season. The shock of going in was disorienting and victims often swallow quite a bit of water doing it; as well as afterward while attempting their own rescue; whether alone or not. Can be very debilitating. "I couldn't see anything" Especially when the waters's surface is not flat calm - with ones eyes virtually at water level, a stiff wind & even 1 foot waves are near impossible to see 'over' and through. So when two or more humans go overboard - it can be hard to find each other - especially at night. In windy conditions, a relatively light craft (like a kayak or a canoe) capsized or not, will quickly drift away - "faster than I could swim" especially fully clothed. Current can complicate this quite a bit. Stay Safe A-Jay

Missing the Line Tug
Oh My. Really sorry to hear you've been facing such challenges my friend. But it does seem you're headed in the right direction. Here's to keeping your spirit up. You've got this. A-Jay "The desire for vitality is not age denial. We are not defying age when we live with strength, passion, creativity and purpose. These qualities have nothing to do with age. They are about state of mind - not a date of birth." Marc Middleton

Yup ~ Nolan Minor and Casey Lanier are making this a habit. Nolan's 6 plus PB Brown Bass anchored an impressive 26 lb sack that put them on top of the day 1 leaderboard. #legendinthemaking A-Jay
