Anchor ?
Two anchors is a solid plan. You'll need to practice - positioning can be tricky and you'll need twice as much anchor line as you think. Important safety tip - when using two anchors ALWAYS deploy the bow first and then the stern and when recovering them, Always Pull the stern first and then the bow. This is especially important when there is substantial wind, waves or weather; you want your bow facing into it. You NEVER want to be stern to or beam to the wind & or waves, especially when anchored. Great way to swamp / sink a small boat. A-Jay

Anchor ?
Dangerous game you're playing. Think sudden wind / bad weather blows in. Combined with either engine failure or sudden electrical power loss. An Anchor can not only prevent you from heading somewhere you don't want to be (shipping lane, rocks, The Beach) but secured correctly off the bow, will position your vessel bow into the weather; important when the waves are higher than your transom. You may not be in a depth where the anchor will help at the start - but when disabled & adrift, you will be there . . . eventually. At Least 100 feet of a quality double braided anchor line is a must (I carry 200 ft). An anchored vessel with an actual position is located quicker & easier than one 'drifting'. Small boats travel a Long way rather quickly in bad conditions. And the closer a 'hazard' is, the faster and more direct route a disabled / adrift boat seems to take. It's a very helpless feeling. You might not use it once in many years, but the one time you need it, you'll be seriously glad you have it. I can make a case where it should be required as safety equipment. Perhaps reconsider. Working to Stay Lean ~
No doubt it's not easy - if it were everyone would do it. Bottom line - Father time is Unbeaten. But I have no plans on making it easy for him. It's a life style and once you're in the groove - you just stay there. Bones stay strong, muscles keep working, heart keeps pumping, brains stay active, balance & confidence make daily living a pleasure rather than chore. Been 'in shape' my entire adult life - and for me, even though 40 years of diet & exercise may have laid the ground work - it's all about what I do NOW. When it comes to my current health & fitness, the best way to be in shape tomorrow - is to do something about it Today. A-Jay

I'm active, but not that active. As for burning the fat - it really helps me if I just don't eat (or drink) it. A-Jay

Searching for active fish in very vegetated lakes
I'd fish at night - especially no moon, mid-week night. Single bladed Spinner bait (Colorado or Oklahoma Blade) in the open water areas and in the not so open areas, I'd throw either a lightly weighted skirted Texas rigged plastic (Craw) or a lightly weighted 10 inch worm of your choice. Any & all bottom baits would be fished pretty slow. A-Jay

Lund Pro V Bass
It certainly does - and I'll let you know. Although this season's been a little wacky so far, it usually starts happening Much Earlier than most think. (Julian calendar day 235) Don't drag your feet either cause the trip south comes earlier this year . . A-Jay

Damaged Prop
If your prop is riding on a Mercury Quicksilver Flo-Torq II system - it could really help. I bet you have one. Flo-Torq II System is compatible with and can increase the performance of almost all marine engines. It is specially designed to reduce slippage, yet still flex during engine shifting, the Flo-Torq II cushions and protects the drivetrain from most impacts. Plus, the Flo-Torq II System also provides unmatched corrosion protection – giving you peace of mind and the freedom to make the most of your time on the water. Shift Shock The Flo-Torq II System is more flexible than competitive hub systems and thus minimizes stress on the engine, engine drive and propeller when the engine is shifted into gear. Breakaway When large underwater obstructions are encountered, the Delrin sleeve of the Flo-Torq II System is designed to "break away" following impact, ensuring that damage to the engine, engine drive and propeller is kept to a minimum. And better yet, the sleeve can easily be replaced by you! Competing hub systems take longer to break away after impact, increasing the risk of major damage to both the engine and the drive. Prop Sleeve At the heart of the Flo-Torq II System, Quicksilver uses brass and Delrin – an advanced, noncorrosive plastic from DuPont® – that virtually eliminate any opportunity for hub corrosion. In comparison, competitor systems use brass, aluminum and plastic components – resulting in a higher probability that the parts will corrode and fuse together. Thus making propeller replacement almost impossible. A-Jay

NEW R2S WHOPPER PLOPPER 75 = 7LB LM BASS
OK ~ A buzzbait is also not a 'fast' topwater, at least not for me. In fact, the slower (and squeakier) I can present it the more interest it seems to attract. Guess what I'm trying to convey is - perhaps consider slowing your roll a bit with the WP. You may find that it will still garner strikes. A-Jay

I'm finding this out myself finally J. I still change it or end for end it one time after some 'serious strain'. Might be paranoid though. A-Jay

How do you clean your outboard motor.
Yea - It's supposed to have some level of wax or sealant in it as well - does smell might fine though. I'm guess your particular unit may require something with a little more 'gumbo' to get the results you're hoping for. A-Jay

I use Invizx as well. If you're an Amazon user (or Abuser) like I am - they routinely offer bulks spool at least 20% less $$ than TW. Often times it can be had for over 40% less $$ https://www.amazon.com/Seaguar-Invizx-Fluorocarbon-Fishing-12-Pound/dp/B002YKKIA6/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1532368258&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=Seaguar%2BInvizx%2BFluorocarbon%2B1000%2Byards%2BFishing%2BLine&th=1&psc=1 A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
No doubt I want to be on the water as much as possible this time of year. So ‘sacrificing’ an hour or so in the gym every other day can seem like a daunting task. However there’s no denying the huge benefits reaped from the work – #leanandmean A-Jay
