Mustad's KVD Elite Treble--"2x Short 1x Strong"
Ok Cool. If you are not using these hooks but are having problems with trebles bending out, as long as your bait is not a suspending style - where the bait's balance & action would be hampered by a little extra hook weight, I'd highly recommend you give these a chance to prove themselves. I'm a big fan. A-Jay

Mustad's KVD Elite Treble--"2x Short 1x Strong"
Mustad's KVD Elite Treble--"2x Short 1x Strong" Bent Out - and on a Jerk Bait ? ? ? Wow - that's pretty hard to do. These hooks have helped be land some of my biggest bass, including a 9 plus on a LC Pointer. I have them on 95% of the treble hook baits I own and have never bent one - not one. Ever. That's one of the main reason's I buy them. Very little to No Flex. Perhaps we are not talking about the same hooks here ? A-Jay

Question re: Lund Pro-V Bass
The new rig is Everything I'd hoped for and quite a bit more. I'm putting together a "one month review / walk-through" post that will include a short video. Should be up by the end of this week. But just to quickly answer your questions - although I have only been out in what I'd call Sloppy weather so far, this hull came as advertised - completely capable. As for the deck height - I like all aspects of it. Good Visibility, great for long distant & target casting as well as keeping the humans on board dry while underway. Glad I opted for the 62" TM shaft though. Shallow water draft is fine for my needs & the waters I fish. Double Talons are a game changer. More to follow. A-Jay

go to tactic for big bass
Tactics for big bass, my first one is to try to be fishing where Big Bass Are; the lake in particular. Some lakes I fish a Big Bass may be 4 or 5 lbs. On others a 5 & 6 lb fish is a dink and big isn't mentioned until the scale reads 10 lbs. So my second big bass tactic is to ensure where ever I'm at, I'm using tackle (rod, reel, line, hooks & all associated terminal tackle) that are effective in each area needed including the presentation of the bait, the hookset, fighting & landing of Big Bass. Baits that have accounted for my say 10 heaviest largemouth bass include, Jigs, Lipless Rattle baits, Big Spinnerbaits and The infamous Scrounger. After that it's just a matter of finding where they live - easy right - not so much. It's all about timing, location, perseverance and perhaps a little bit of good fortune. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource. Sounds like you're doing some good stuff. Though I am somewhat familiar with the Senko and Robo worms, what are zooms on a Texas rig ? A-Jay

Buying my first boat feed back welcomed
Your Welcome Jimmy ~ As I said, my used vessel purchasing experience is minimal ~ but two recurring themes by those who offer experienced based advice is to always test ride a potential purchase on the water (testing it under load rather than in the driveway) and to have the motor looked at by a professional you know & trust. A compression test is a fairly standard part of that. You may have to pay for it but it's probably money well spent. What another boat owner could tell you about the his / her rig may not have much bearing on anything you're looking to buy. Each boat, motor & trailer has a story. Whether the seller is providing you all, part or any truthful versions of the story can be tricky to decipher. However, the current condition of it all is right there for one to see, ride, test and evaluate. One simply has to make the commitment to do it - in advance of the purchase. If it looks like a duck . . . . . . . Good Luck A-Jay
