  1. Tanker ~ Congrats A-Jay
  2. I fish a ton of very clear water north of you in northern MI. I have had quite a bit of success with a drop shot and a SK Rage Craw. I use spinning gear, 10 lb braid & an 8 lb test mono leader. From the bank you'll want to use a cylindrical style drop shot weight and Tex-Pose the bait on a 3/0 EWG Hook. Helps reduce hang ups. Best way to "work" the bait is - you don't. Fish it like it was live bait. The rage craw works it's magic all on it's own. Good Luck A-Jay
  3. I say there are three choices here ~ Go with straight braid. Go with straight mono. Go with braid & mono leader but re-tie your connection knot more often than you're doing now. May not eliminate the knot failure but certainly can reduce the frequency. A-Jay
  4. Although this is a little deeper running bait (9-14 ft) the Spro "Mike McClelland" RkCrawler 55 Crankbait has been very well received by the local large & smallmouth population. Really shines crawling over hard bottom structure (rocks & sand) and comes over & through big bottom wood well too. In clear water conditions where crawfish are routinely on the menu I have at least one of these tied on. btw - the picture does not really show it well but at least 4 of these baits are translucent which seems to be part of the appeal. 7. Seems you've skipped a step ~ Learning what the bass in your waters eat and at what times of the day that prey is routinely available, may help you choose what bait to use & when to use it. Additionally, it will help to know that the bass in any lake, river or reservoir are a not all looking for the same bait at the same time. This is a good thing in that it usually means that any number of techniques / presentations can illicit a strike. Some seasons repeat, other times they are completely different as the environment changes so does the bait. The bass will adapt as well. Usually pretty quickly. If we do not it can be tough sledding. But I do believe that having some knowledge of the bass / prey relationship can clue an angler in on where & how to start. A-Jay
  8. Calling Scuba Steve, Calling Scuba Steve - Will Scuba Steve Please pick up a white courtesy phone . . . . Oh - and don't forget to set that parking brake. I'm all for adding fish attracting cover - but this seems a little much . . . . . A-Jay
  9. This Single Oklahoma Blade bait w/swimbait trailer is a top night time producer for me. (Colorado blade works too) Note the teeth marks on the blade A-Jay
  10. I'd tend to agree. That said, the Quantum products in their entry level and secondary lines have earned a poor reputation which no doubt negatively affects the products at the top of the line. Deserved or not, I use a ton of the top gear and it works for me; especially the cranking gear. And it's not really that $$ relatively speaking. As for following the Lews company Brand profile http://www.lews.com/ourstory.php ~ I'll say Quantum is doing the best they can with what they have - and who they have speaks volumes - at least to me. http://shop.zebcobrands.com/pros A-Jay
  11. Thank you ~ and although it comes out I don't see me removing it either. A-Jay

  13. Mookie Betts 1st Red Sox leadoff hitter to hit 3 HRs in a game in Franchise History ~ Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts opened Tuesday night's 6-2 win over the Orioles with a home run, added a three-run shot in the second and a solo homer in the seventh for the first three-homer game of his career. WOW A-Jay
  14. The Removable passenger console is a standard Lund option on the Pro V Bass. I think it's a must have - plus I think it "finishes" the look of the boat. Also the glove box storage in it is Cavernous A-Jay

  19. I too was in the market for a new net - needed something with a little longer handle. Decided to go with the Frabill 9510 Conservation Series Net with CAM-LOK ~ got a decent deal on it too. I'm hoping to completely wear it out . . . . A-Jay http://www.amazon.com/Frabill-Conservation-Landing-Camlock-Reinforced/dp/B003JSLWLQ?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
