  2. ~ Very Nice Write Up Senko Lover (but we all know it could be jig lover). Been fishing jigs for a long time. Knowing what I know now, if I had used this basic info to start with, I'd have done OK. Nice Job. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome again to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  5. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ One of the best aspects of virtually any type of fishing is that an angler can do it any way he or she chooses. Both Jigs & Texas Rigged baits have take some very respectable bass for me as well as accounting for many a memorable days. If the fish show even the slightest interest (and sometimes even when they don't) I'll fish them EVERY CHANCE I Get And at times, I'll even fish them both at the same time You results may vary. A-Jay
  6. The Effect of a lake not freezing over for a season will prevent something that plagues my winter fishing constantly. Your baits won't Bounce ~ A-Jay

  11. Sweet. It's always fun to discover that an Old / New lure is a fish catcher. Congrats A-Jay
  12. NIce ~ I think you'll be happy. And though I hope you never have to use it but in the unlikely event you find yourself in need of some St Croix Customer Service ~ Chances are you'll be very satisfied. A-Jay
  13. IAY ~ Thank you for the recommendation. I have tied & fished the FG knot. I will not debate the size or the effectiveness of it at all. I re-tie several times a trip, sometimes several times an hour; both at the lure end (which shortens the leader quickly) and of course then leader connection must be redone. For me, even with practice, the FG knot seemed too complicated (meaning too many things can got wrong during the tying process which will compromise the strength), especially at night and it took too long to tie. For those reasons, It's just no practical for my fishing. Your results may vary. btw- I've been tying fishing knots of all kind in both offshore & sweetwater applications for almost fifty years and I actually do OK. A-Jay
  14. Thanks for keeping this thread on topic Kyle. Guess I'm still trying to get the hang of this interweb thing. Good Luck with your knot tying too. A-Jay

  19. Does anyone have a solution, or figured out how to keep the FG knot from unraveling ? Yes ~ By tying a Uni-to Uni Knot instead. Effective, Simple & Doesn't Unravel. A-Jay

  21. After the results I've had recently in late season cold water conditions; and cold water is a relative term as I've not fished any 70 degree days on Christmas Eve - I'd be fishing two rigs. And two rigs only ~ A 1/2 oz Silver Buddy and a 3/4 oz Silver Buddy. Silver in the sun and Gold when there's clouds. Watch out for over-sized Pike ! A-Jay
  22. That's CRAZY ! Good Luck My Friend - Hope you get on'em. A-Jay
  23. Again, if competence were directly related to income, the Presidential Elections would look a whole lot different. Have a good one A-Jay
  24. Glad you like your boat. I will have disagree with your over stated generalizations regarding a person's income as it compares to boating inexperience. My career has shown that bad decisions made as a result of inexperience and or lack of local knowledge are not limited any level of income. I've responded to & rescued just as many (if not more) cases involving vessels less that 16 ft as the larger vessels. One isolated incident is just that. btw - I fish from a canoe. A-Jay
