Help Is This A Good Setup
Reels in that price range are generally all very decent. I can surely tell you what I like & why I like it - but that's me. I can not really tell you what you'll like. Also there are several models that "will make the set up really good". Models by 13, ABU, Lews, Okuma, Pflueger, Pinnacle, Quantum, Shimano & a few others are all solid choices. Instead of listing the reels I like, my very best advice is to go to your local tackle shop and handle some. Even better, if you can put the reels you're looking at on the rod you have (or want) at the very least, you'll get a hands on sense of what you're buying. Try to find out what you like. TW has a DEMO program that allow you to check out some reels for a week without buying it. Try before you buy - I've used it ~ it's pretty convenient. A-Jay

The Physics Behind Overhand Vs. Roll On A Baitcasting Reel
Casting is a learned skill. Regardless of the "Type" of cast and physics aside, if you're doing it correctly and you practice it, you're ability to do so will improve. Setting up your reel effectively will greatly assist in the process. But through it all - when it comes to casting any revolving spool gear, nothing is more valuable than an educated & experienced Thumb. A-Jay

Help Is This A Good Setup
I do not have experience with the 13 reels - but these guys seemed to really like it. http://www.tackletour.com/review13fishingconcepta.html As for the 20 lb Fireline braid - decent line but I find the thin diameter of the 20lb a little tricky on a casting reel. I'd recommend 30 lb Sufix 832 braid. Good Luck A-Jay

Help Is This A Good Setup
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I can not tell from your post what reel you're looking at but the ST Croix Mojo Bass Rod is a quality stick that has quite a faithful following. As a matter of fact, they are currently being offered in the companies "Bargain Room" at 20% off & free shipping. http://stcroixrods.com/shop/bargain-room/ I'd recommend either the MBC70MHF or the MBC76MHMF Good Luck A-Jay

Which Rod Has Best Parabolic Bend With Enough Backbone To Set Hook?
I'll take a shot at this one ~ and say that each angler's ideal of both Idea & parabolic is probably different. For me, and in the case of the Quantum Tour Tactical Greg Hackney model 7'11, the beauty is in the bend. The "Parabolic" characteristics are in the middle third of the blank. This allows for more than enough back end to drive even an oversize gauge wire jig hook all the way home. And once hooked up, the smooth consistent bend absorbs the fast, hard, give & take that almost always occur during the close quarters battles while fishing heavy cover. A real confidence builder for me in the "Keeping her pinned" category. btw - I always fish braid here. Additionally, this rod has the right tip to present the baits the way I like and a handle length that suits my frame & style. I haven't tried them all and frankly I found this one pretty early in my search. With no need to look further. I stopped right here. A-Jay
