  1. Hello Danny and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  2. Each winter, I box them all up - and send them on a little vacation . . . They all get to visit their friend Mike at DVT And you know when they come back - they really do seem refreshed. They definitely work better that's for sure. A-Jay http://www.delawarevalleytackle.com/
  3. I know how you feel. Believe me I do. But it's a long hard cold winter for those of us who have to endure it so I try not to torture myself. I ease up a bit on the fishing stuff at least a little. Working out - some dog sledding, and the NFL & NHL help distract me a bit. And although I always say I'm not going to do it, as the spring time nears, I will admit to working myself up into a rather wild frenzy . . . . A-Jay
  4. Knowing the difference between Bias-Ply and Radial tires is important and something that should be considered when chosing your boat trailer tire needs. So what is the difference between the two designs and how can this impact you? The difference is the way the tires are constructed as well as the materials used. Bias ply tires have the plies (layers of rubberized nylon or polyester mesh) laid in at a 30 – 45 degree angle to the centerline of the tire and in alternating directions. There are usually fiberglass belts added for strength. In the Radial design, Polyester cords are laid in and overlapped at 90 degrees to the centerline of the tire and then steel mesh belts are added. The Radial design prevents the point of contact (where the rubber meets the road) from deforming, unlike the Bias Ply, which does deform under load. There are a number of benefits to the Radial design for the trailer operator. 1) Softer, smoother, quieter ride 2) Improved fuel economy 3) Flat, wider footprint for better tire wear 4) Runs cooler than a bias ply, minimizing risk of a blowout on the highway 5) Longer tire life 6) Better tracking – Improved sway control The main benefit for the Bias-Ply design is that the sidewall is more rugged and bruise resistant, plus Bias-Ply tires are usually less expensive. This could be an important consideration in a trailer application because many trailers are used infrequently, minimizing some of the Radial’s benefits. This is one of those decisions where finding out that you made the wrong one for your particular towing needs can be costly. A-Jay
  5. Sweet ~ Let us know what you think - I bet they produce . A-Jay
  6. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ No Clue on your bait Identification, Sorry A-Jay
  7. Philly's a tough place to play & especially coach. CK's offensive plan requires players willing & able to execute it. Doesn't appear that's the case right now. The team's D is 25th - CK's not out there making tackles - I'm not saying ~ I'm just saying . . . A-Jay
  8. For those traveling - be safe Hope everyone enjoy's the day. Please keep those not able to be with their family in your thoughts. A-Jay
  9. Rig up a drop shot with a weight that is sufficient to allow you to cast the distance you want. Rig the plastic of your choice Tex-posed on an EWG Hook. May I suggest a SK Rage Craw, the Berkley Powerbait Thief or a even a simple Strike King Rage Tail Grub. Ensure that the the drop length of the line between the hook & the weight is long enough to keep your offereing off the bottom or at least up out of the "moss". On a super long cast that usually means it will need to be a little longer than usual - maybe something like 18 - 24 inches. Good Luck A-Jay
  10. X2 ~ And don't be afraid to add a moderately priced Fly Rod to this as well. Bass on a Fly is a TON of FUN ! A-Jay
  11. Could always use a small zip tie ~ A-Jay
  12. Two Just Arrived ~ Both came in an opened / unsealed somewhat tattered box. Both boxes included paperwork, bag of washers & the small storage bag. Both show signs of being mounted on a some kind of rod; perhaps it was that short demo job that appears on a display wall for customers to test out & handle. Either way, the paint at the corners of the reel seat is worn off. On a positive note, the reels seems to perform in all aspects perfectly. I say again they both work perfectly. So here's how I feel about the experience. I paid half price for a demo model. I'm happy. I would have appreciated it if DSG indicated this on the retail site. By the time I had emailed and asked if these were "New" or "Demo" reels and got a response, they would have been gone. So that's the "risk" - if you want to call it that. Also, if these reels were being sold say in the BR flea market - I'd have jumped on it - and I wouldn't have gotten the warranty. Lesson learned - DSG is not always straight up with their sales practices. I will definitely remember this experience when considering further "on sale" transactions with this vendor. A-Jay
  13. The Bills gave TB12 & the Pats all they could handle on MNF. Injuries continue to take their toll ~ every team has what seems like too many. SNF see's The Pat's in Denver - No Payton but it's still looking like an uphill battle. A-Jay

  15. I use the Uni to Uni Knot to connect my braid main line to my Mono leaders. Has been a Reliable, Secure knot that's Simple & Easy to tie. - Even at night. This encourages me to re-tie often which plays a major in my choice and has proved very beneficial ~ Especially lately. A-Jay
  16. Sweet Ride Mr. Griswold ~ But I'm a little surprise you didn't go for the Antarctic Blue Super Sports Wagon with the C.B. and optional rally fun pack or even the Metallic Pea A-Jay
  17. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  18. Well, these two launched out of "Detroit". There is no DSP right down town but there are five within 20 miles or so. So I do believe you Sir, may be onto something with the Open Box theory. Either way, I probably would have made this purchase even if they did choose to advertise the fact that the reels we not a sealed box product. And if either of them are for some reason not up to snuff - we'll deal with that then. A-Jay
  19. That's interesting and I'll admit, a little surprising. I ordered two which are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I'm curious to see what shows up. Will pass on whatever it is. More to follow . . . . . .. A-Jay

  24. I find that for good over all (non-heavy cover) casting & fishing the below lines perform well on casting reels. The test I use vary as each companies line diameter is different. Sufix 832 Braid Lo-Vis Green 30 lb. Power Pro Spectra Braided Line Moss Green 30 lb. Daiwa Samurai Braided Line 40 lb. Seaguar Kanzen Braided Line Green 30 lb. A-Jay
