Spooling A Spinning Reel
Be sure to point your spool of line at your reel so that the line is coming off the spool (rotation wise) in the same direction that it is going onto the reel. Also do not fill the reel spool all the way (meaning right up to the edge of the spool lip) - Leave at least a 1/16 of an inch of reel spool unfilled. If you fill it all the way - the line will soon spin off wildly and you'll be very sad. Good Luck A-Jay

Help With Spinning Reel Specs
Line twists with spinning reels is part of the deal but you can reduce them by doing a one thing ROUTINELY. After EVERY cast, use your hand to close the bail before the retrieve INSTEAD of the simply reeling and allowing the reel to trip the bail back itself. A-Jay

Help With Spinning Reel Specs
The Megabass Orocho X4 F3-610X4S is a high quality stick priced in the "Very Sweet" bracket. I'd hang nothing less than a Shimano Stradic CI4+ Spinning Reels (STCI41000FAML) And the Shimano Stella FI (STL2500HGSFI) would be even better. A-Jay

Suicide Is Easy To Prevent.
A couple of close friends have chosen to do this. So many struggled to reason why. It's been said that people who die by suicide, don't want to end their lives, they want to end their pain. But suicide doesn't end the pain. It just gives it to someone else. A-Jay

Whats Your Go-To Bass Lure?
My "Go To" lure seems to change year to year. Last year it was a squarebill crank bait and this season saw a chatterbait getting a good chunk of the action. A-Jay

Swim Jig And Trailer Test Part 3
Nice ~ I'll say that that the hitch hiker is an effective presentation in many situations but not when using it as a trailer on a swim jig. From what I've seen, the benefit of the swim & wobble that the swimbait adds to the swimjig when attached in the traditional method (threading it on the hook) is lost quite a bit when using the hitch hiker. New Orleans Apartment Complex Fishing
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I have three suggestions for you - but please know the conditions you've relayed here do offer many many options. First is a 3/8 ounce chatterbait with a swimbait trailer. Second is the Gambler EZ Swimmer swimbait on 5/0 EWG 1/8 ounce keel weighted hook. These type baits excel in & around grass when presented at of just under the surface. And thirdly I'd highly recommend a Spro Dean Rojas Bronzeye Shad - especially for the conditions you've mentioned. Good Luck A-Jay

Finally, Northend Pays Off.........
I would encourage you to Keep taking your notes - I believe they can & do prove quite valuable over time. But remember to have realistic expectations. The great thing about this sport is that there is 10 life times worth of information to learn and only one lifetime to do it in. No one catches them All The Time - but knowledge & experience certainly increases ones chances. Good Luck A-Jay
