I guess I been looking at the wrong brands thanks guys

Why do we see only low profile baitcasters in one average size? Why don't we see the baitcasters offered in sizes like the spinning reels like the 100, 200 & 300 sizes. But the sizes that make more sense would be a baitcaster offers in 100, 150, 200 sizes. The jump in sizes would relate to more line on the spools. My point is the low profile reels now just look too small on the larger rods. Or is it me just being new to bait caster setups? To me there's a gap between the low profile and the round winch type baitcasting reels. Is it possible that we put too large of a pound test on the smaller reels mono wise or are most of the fisherman using more braided lines?

I think the discontinued BPS/XPS TOPNOCKER topwater lure is so successful because of its one loud single knocker. I believe it was the first lure like this of its time. After seeing my success with this lure I purchase any lure that has this one knocker system. I notice I can call fish to it from any distance too. I try to buy my bomber spooks in a low pitch rattle and In a high pitch rattle too. Plus these new rattle trap type lures. The fish can hear.

I think an sks in 7,62x39 is the perfect truck gun. It can dispatch yotes out to 225yds.

How true and one must know the limitations before it gets out of hand for jealousy can be a home wrecker even though nothing is going on. The ground rules must be set and respected. But it's better to avoid problems before they start to fester. It's only human that our minds do wander and think evil thoughts when we think something is going on. There is nothing wrong with conversation about our sport and making new friends. What an awesome world we live in if we took the time to go out there and enjoy it.

I noticed when playing with both brand new reels one spool spun longer in the cast mode with the brakes off and the friction knob backed off. The reel with the longer spinning spool had two ball bearings on its spool while the shorter spinning spool had only one ball bearing on the driven side. As where on the magnetic brake side had a solid bushing bearing. I was wondering if anyone ever changed the bushing bearing to a ball bearing? For $10 replacing the bushing bearing to a ball bearing we should be able to feel the difference. I'm not looking for it to become a $100 to $200 reel for $10. I'm just thinking it could cast smoother. Bill

The bass on certain days are limited to what colors they can see do to the sunlite and vegetation in the water affects the hues in the water. Now factor in the water clarity conditions too. Now there are somedays when the bass can see all the colors too. Quote, Bill Dance If the bass could see all the colors all the time there wouldn't be a minnow or shad left in the body of water. This is why we read the water conditions first before we choose what lure color were going to use. I throw a variety of different lures and colors till the bass let me know with one they want. Once I get action I have the pattern at that moment. But it can also change too. On a tough day when we can't even buy a bite after I been thru my normal ritual of lures I go back and try different presentation. The bass will let us know when we get it right. But my go to color when it's tough is firetiger. Remember in clear water it's natural colored smaller sized lures fished fast. In stained water it's a combination of smaller and medium sized brighter colored lures fished slow. With muddy water it's the larger sized lures in the brightest colors fished the slowest. Having a rattle and a shot of scent is a plus in any condition. If you want to research into the color thing with bass. Search for Dr. LOREN HILL of OK UNV. and look for the articles of his tests with bass seeing colors. The info about his COLOR C LECTOR and his COMBO C LECTOR will also be there too. There is a reason why KVD has a combo c LECTOR on his boat.

When I purchase one new different lure and find out it catches fish right away I go back for more to cover all water conditions. I think I have six high rollers. But I mainly use bomber crankbaits but I also have a collection of Norman thin n, Norman fanboy crankbaits in all there colors too. I try to keep a collection of colors too. From Brown's, to chartreuse, to baby bass, to dark green, to red craw, to silver shad, chrome shad, citrus, chartreuse blues, a firecraw in the cranks. My spinner bait colors are easy. The white, red, chartreuse, black skirts colors. The inline spinners in black, firetiger, white, brown, gray tails all work. It's not only a collection of different lures I also have the different colors in the same lures too some are more than the others. I like to use the correct lure in the right color so the water conditions match too. Since I have a collection of most of the affordable lures that work I went after a few high rollers too. I do plan on purchasing more of the higher priced lures too in the near future. My only problem that I see is when the manufacturer discontinues my crank bait model and colors. Then I scramble to buy up what I can find. I hate to lose any of my hottest colors in my dependable go to baits when they still are working at catching fish. So every time I find a new fish catching lure, every time I place a lure order I reorder more of my proven New lures too so I'm stocked up on them.

I seen that on the news. When we all rode together we never bothered anyone. After all the cars are much heavier. I think the driver got nervious and panicked when he was surrounded by the motor cycles. No one respects anyone nowadays. I walked into a garden supply store once without my leather and no motorcycle. Everyone was nice to me all the clerks talked with me. I forgot to get something so I went back with my bike with my leather jacket on. It was 30 minutes between both visits. Now no one would talk with me. Go figure.

To drive on the highways here the cars vary speeds day by day. Someday s they do 80 I do 90 someday s they do 70 I do 80 just to stay faster and out of there way. On the Japanese bikes it's easy to get away from the bottle necks. I found myself going faster and faster like my average speed was 100mph going to work everyday. The bike was so smooth it feels like 60mph. I sold the bike because I lost the fear of it, speed was nothing. I had it up to 150mph a few times. At that point the slower cars are actually coming at you. Since I had the dirtbike experience and knew how to use my body English on the motorcycle I was never in any danger but we don't know what the cars will do. Some riders don't fear the cars. Some don't know how to ride and the rocket is or was there first bike. In the local bargain paper there's totalled bikes for parts all the time. They buy a rocket and never rode before and In one month there dead. It is what it is. I had fun but sold it before it killed me the smoothness and speed plus becoming one with a machine can be addicting. It's not how fast you want to go its how fast you can go. May he RIP. Of course I survived my motorcycle days but then the cancer got me go figure. I'm thinking of getting another bike a 215mph. Hayabusa and burn the tires off of it.

Having some place to go in a time of need is a good thing. I purchased my land in the green mountains of vt back in the mid 80's. That fall we hunted there by sleeping in the truck. We had nothing so we used the wilds of mother nature. At 4am with the temps at 10 degrees with a wind lets say we didn't waste time in reading the newspaper. The following year I built a new outhouse. The very next hunting season I know how man felt when he invented the wheel. The following year we had a 21' trailer with a Woodstove for heat and solar 12volts with camper lighting. We were like modern men at the discovery of the light bulb. We were happy, happy to be warm at night and have a place to go in time of need. We were hunting in style. We had a running spring for water. I washed the privy every spring and added a fresh coat of paint on the inside. We moved it too. We went from nothing to having everything we needed. What little we could live n if we had too survive. Those 10 degree morning were still tough. But we laugh about it now. I wanted to put a sign in my privy that said flush twice it's a long way to ct. It does flow down hill right? Everyone told me they would never use my privy. But when they came over and seen how clean it was plus it was sprinkled with lime everyday plus I had air fresheners in it too everyone used it. I have no clue how the early fur trappers survived in the wilds. I wonder how many went out and were never heard from again.

I try to cast parallel to shore when ever possible. I really don't have too many spots were I can walk too. I do cast parallel from shore at different distances too. I do have dropped offs where I can get with in inches from the shoreline. It's almost the same as walk trolling. It's been very successful my PB of 10lbs. was caught fishing this way. My lure was about to leave the shoreline and head into the channel when she hit it. I was about 2' parallel to the shoreline. I never expected a big gal to be so close to me. I never caught fish this big in freshwater. I've only seen them in saltwater this big. At first in the low light seeing her at the shoreline as I stepped back and seen how big she was it scared me until I was positive it was a bass. My point is fishing parallel to the shoreline can be very successful. I would say to cast or "walk trolling" when you can too. I do use floating shallow running crankbaits when I can in the shallows. Even the deeper running crankbaits that float will work if we slow it down enough. Tip, in the early morning hours from when the sky starts to light up at twilight try throwing a chartreuse colored lure.

In the springtime I was catching bass on my Hank Parker Mann's baby 1 crankbait in Brown Craw. And my mepps Anglia #3 inline spinner. I was fishing at a new place and was about 4' above the water fishing from a rocky ledge. I could see the whole pond from one spot with its gin clear water. I noticed that the long black lines I seen in the water were big bass. This place was shallow and remember if you can see the bass they can see you. I tossed lure after lure with no success. Then I down sized to a rebel bumble bee. I caught a sunfish on a long cast. As I was reeling it in a big bass swam over to strike it as I pulled the sunfish out of the water. I just didn't think fast enough to realize that the sunfish were probably there main diet. I figure these bigger gals need a bigger meal. Seeing this taught me to use natural colored lures in sunfish colors in clear water conditions for bass. Don't wear bright colored clothes too if you can see the bass they can see you too. If your fishing from shore something darker is much better like Camo. I also make slow moves too not to spook them. Bill

My son's ex girlfriend fishes, rides dirtbikes, rides motorcycles and even runs chainsaws. She helped me repair dirtbikes too. We were riding in a local legal place to ride dirtbikes. In her safety gear it was hard to tell she was a girl. The Harley riders came by to take a break with there gals. Sara comes out of the woods and stands her bike up doing a wheelie and when she stopped and took her helmet off and her long hair dropped out of her helmet and the Harley babes seen she was a girl they went crazy. One even was elbowing her hubby that it's a girl. You wouldn't believe how many guy riders she sent home because she beat them thru the Rocky trails. She could ride faster than most of the guys. Some of the neighborhood kids wouldn't ride with us anymore because she rode better than them. I admire the women who are willing to even try something out of the norm and why not I believe anyone of us can do anything we put our minds to. We just need to stay focused and motivated. I have no clue why some are so negative and hesitant to try something different there is so much more to life that there missing out on. It's too bad there so sheltered and close minded. Plus there jealous and feel threatened towards the other women who are willing to branch out and explore the different things in life. I say start living life now before it's too late and life passes you by. Why do some people put limits on themselves? There are no rules or limitations on what we can do or not do. Failure is not an option. Even go hunting and find a nice spot to sit up in the mountains and take in the fresh air and natures view of what our world has to offer to us. You will see in person what some only see on postcards. Only the ones who are willing to get out there will see this and that's a shame because there are so few.

I just finished setting up my new Mann's spinner bait and tweaking it when a nice 3lb bass bent it all up. I never had spinnerbaits bent up this bad so I know I'm finally getting this spinner bait thing perfected. I just caught another pickerel but it's teeth were different much larger than the normal pickerel. Plus it tried to bite me as I removed the lure. I think it was a little pike. I had my first successful spinner bait that I changed the blades on only to be ripped off by a 30+" pickerel. He came parallel to the shoreline within inches as I was about to take it out of the water when he ripped it off my line and took it with him. I had the setup on the money and he let me know I did. I had the perfect presentation too

I'm wondering if anyone has done an upgrade to a lesser cost reel to the bushing bearing on the mag brake side to a ball bearing. I'm thinking we could upgrade a lesser quality reel by changing the bushing bearing to a ball bearing and save some $$$. I have a new Quantum Bill Dance bait caster with the bushing bearing I'd like to upgrade to the ball bearing. The cost I think is around $10 to upgrade it. If your on a tight budget you can maybe do this simple upgrade rather than replace the reel if it's still good while you save for a better reel.

Tackle storage for at and on the water plus home storage for your extra tackle. I also suggest a rod/reel holder of some type for at home. Have you picked an area where your going to store your tackle at home. Your going to want a small work bench too.

SirSnook, You are so right. I look forward to hammering on them all for a year like your saying and then some. I can squeeze in sometime in 2013 till the ice is on. I just put out six different brand new baitcaster setups to take out soon. Bill

My wife and her girlfriend asked me to take them fishing and target shooting. I think it's awesome that there showing interest. They can fish with me anytime. I'm always alone anyway. I'll take them pan fishing. I already purchased them light casting rods with zebco reels.

Son I feel your pain I lost two bass that we're new state records. It keeps me going back.

I must make a correction. First my baitcaster reel from China has spool ball bearings on both ends of the spool. My new quantum code red bait caster that lists for $99 has ball bearings on both sides of the spool. Please forgive for missing this I've looked at so many reels I need to make a check list on how there built. Im thinking as we get closer to $100 cost were seeing ball bearings on both ends of the spools in some reels. To me it's a smoother running reel plus less friction on the casts.

Some people are competitive when they fish I'm not. I go to fish and relax. I have women friends too. That doesn't bother my misses there her friends too. Why are people so insecure? Life is too short to sweat about the little things.

I had more hook ups with the renosky scattering shad than with the yum money minnow.
