BTW, My PB is 10lber it's no secret. I use lures only. I haven't used live bait in decades. To catch big bass first you need to find there main food source. These big hungry gals will be feeding were the abundance of food is. Next is the timing as to when she is there. These big gals are very shy and smart. Being stealthy is the key so we don't spook them. These big gals only come out to feed when it's very. Very quiet. Do not disturb them. Don't make any noise. The rest is skill.

I do not fish beds, let them breed we need the fry. Some states open there season after the spawn. For me the best fishing is post spawn. The bass fry feed the food chain so the more there is the better. Bash me if you want but my hot spots remain full of bass. I'm thinking about the future generations of fisherman. BPS Stik o worms 7 1/4" Does anyone use these? They are the largest senko type bait there is. You do need bigger hooks. My story is I took them fishing without looking at them. I figured they were just longer. I was wrong. I put the biggest hook I had with me and casted it out. My c-rig was almost to shore at the drop off. I seen a very large bass with my stick o in his mouth he was that close. I prayed, waited and prayed some more before setting the hook. Remember the small hook I had. Well I finally tried setting the hook and she spit it. She waved her tail at me as my new state record swam off. I wasn't mad, broken hearted maybe. This big record bass is what some fish for and I was ready to lip grab her. On the other hand it's a good feeling to see them up close yet so far away. The bass won on that day. I never expected the stick o worms to be that big in diameter. Just want to pass on lessons learned. I'm better prepared ever since. Check and assemble your plastics before we go fishing. I now go up one hook size larger in my plastics. My catch rate hasnt changed from the smaller hook. The bigger hook doesn't scare them away. Just some food for thought. Hook size go larger. No I don't use them I have a museum How did they ever fish with those older antique bait casting reels? I guess they put loose line out like a fly rod then cast.

I'd do the garlic. Save the juice from the jar of chopped garlic. I'm going to experiment with watering the natural garlic juice down to the point it keeps the bugs away. Garlic is safer than chemicals.

Fishing from shore I need to make the longest casts. To me it's not which rod material it what brand of line I'm using. My longest casts are made with Excalibur Silver Thread Copolymer line. (Not the 40). The regular silver thread. Nobody near me can out cast me. I need to reach the pads, sunken weeds and surface weeds. I soak my very first cast with attractant on my popper. Med/hvy action for topwater, jigs. Med action spinnerbaits, crankbaits, inlines, plastics. Med/Ltd action smaller baits. Spinnerbait, spinflys.

If the predictions and rumors are wrong this is the time I want them to be wrong. Some of this stuff is out there, we need to read between the lines and throw out the fake and hoaxes.

I seen Lurenet offer mistakes in the mini size bomber cranks. I jumped on a few. The colors were off. It's like buying a mistake lotto ticket we might get lucky.

This is why when I find a bait on the manufacturers list that works awesome I go home and buy as many as I can to have a stash. I see the mepps XD is being fazed out. They don't offer every color/size. I haven't seen the GY senkos in red, red flake or the motor oil, black flake for sale online in 15+ years. Nor the bps stik o in Amber flake. These colors were listed as out of stock now there's no listing at cabelas, bps. Over stocked bait had the gy red and the gy site had them. But not much in 6"/7" just 5". That MT grab bag with the strawberry glitter 2" grub is a killer.

The bass want something moving to eat. My first experience with bass was reeling in a night crawler and had a topwater strike. My mind thought they want something moving. I used a mepps inline spinner and it's been bass fishing ever since. It's like bird hunting we shoot it in the air not on the ground.

Ok I used senkos before but never researched into them. What's up with the different lengths. Do you use the longer lengths in brighter colors in muddy water. Do you follow the lengths, the colors matching the water and light conditions?

The bigger bass is hitting the smaller bass so it can stun it to eat it. I watched this topwater as one slapped my topwater popper on the side then turned and inhaled it. I paused at the side slap. There was no way the bass could of missed it. When your catching small bass upside your bait the bigger bass are lurking nearby.
