The turkeys showed up today. That's a good sign things are moving. Big foot not big food.

Over Loading Spinning & Casting Reels Line Test
I looked at the older US REEL super casters. The larger 240 spinning reels with the larger spools will take up to 16lb test. Looking at one of my casting reels it says up too 20lb test. Looks like part of my problem is solved. Now it's what line test to use for topwater, cranks, jigs, 3/8oz spinnerbaits and larger. For 1/4oz spinnerbaits and smaller.

Something Scary Is Happening
Not everything is fake. Keep an open mind. I mention mountainlions because they claim that none are in the wilds. Plus how elusive to see in the northeast. My wife, daughter and son seen one in the woods near there condo complex. No one would believe it until one was walking through the condo complex at 7am. Now it's OMG. BIGFOOT is real. There are so many hoaxes we need to look past them. It's very elusive too. They avoid humans.

Does anyone choose a casting reel by the line test and capacity? Or do you brand and price shop?

New Personal Record For The Year!
I admit I played God one-day. The bass fry were 1 1/2" long and more than 1,000 together. The pickerel were murdering them. I put on a baby bass rapala and caught every pickerel. I shouldn't of done that. Better to let nature thin them out. The school of fry looked like a cloud in the water.

Something Scary Is Happening
I tried to explain about the mountain lion tracks we seen in the snow. More detail. I put my jeep up a old logging road and walked another mile up the mountain. I found my cousins camp were he stayed all summer. We found a sow with her cubs tracks. We seen mountain lion tracks following the bears tracks. We are way beyond were no one walks. No one goes up there. This is in the higher elevations. Now go about 10 to 15 years later we seen a mountain lion near my camp. We're many miles from the tracks we first seen. Ok there's more than one. There breeding, multiplying and coming into the lower areas looking for food. Guess what they claim there is no mountain lion in vt. No one goes in the national forest the way we hunted. We pushed through areas where man hasn't been except for loggers 150/200 years ago. Mountainlions are elusive so is Bigfoot. I talked with a gal about mountainlions in vt. She lives north of my camp. I told her about my experiences I have had at my camp. She asked her dad who is a hunting guide. He answered her "Bigfoot" and said nothing else. What happens to the springtime sheds in the woods? Deer and moose shed there antlers. Mice and what ever eat them. I think the Bigfoot bury there dead. Any bones in the woods the animals chew on. The evidence is gone. Fact our government knows it's there.

I noticed there are more expensive casting reels that have a higher maximum on line test. Some reels also vary on what max line test we can use.

Something Scary Is Happening
Something about trail cams they stay away from. I was sitting back to back with my brother on a blow down in the low clouds on top of my mountain above my camp in vt. I started rattling and something on two legs came running at us. It stopped and I could feel it looking at me. I couldn't see what it was. It made all kinds of noise while I rattled. But Was quiet when it left. This area is where BFRO found the two bf beds above my camp.

Public Vs. Private Lakes
I fish one private pond deep in the woods. The fish are very aware you are there. They won't hit bass lures. They eat sunfish. At a nearby public place thank god not everyone knows how to fish for bass. Now at are larger public lakes most of the areas I drive by this is no one fishing. I would drive by everyday logging and never seen anyone fishing. These are some great spots to fish. I was logging on top of a hill were one lake has a double dog leg inlet. There was a northern pike in each dog leg chasing baitfish. Don't underestimate a small place having only smaller fish. It's how healthy the eco system is. My point is stop and fish anywhere you can. I need to make some deals with the people who owns these private places maybe swap some welding or mechanical work for permission to fish.

No Deer Yet
Heard one thump passed my window the other night. There just starting to move. The does are usually following a monster buck. But no real action from the bottoms yet. We have spotted a very large bobcat. My large racoon is missing. U could have a predator problem. Our quotes are the size of female German Shepard. We usually have 30 turkeys in the field there scarce now. On the other hand all my fruit trees are bare. We need a frost to get the rut going. The monster buck is 275/300lbs with a b&c quality rack. I let him spread his genes/dna.

Meanest Species Of Fish
To me a pickerel that inhaled my CRANKBAIT then tried to bite me while trying to get my lure back. He kept on Snapping his jaws. I figure the pike and muskies have the same pit bull attitude.

Something Scary Is Happening
It's said they migrate using rivers and highways. I get unexplained action all year but the hottest action is in September to November. I did notice the smell of my woodstove smoke goes up, over the mountain well into the next valley. So my smell of my world famous bacon cheeseburgers goes in that direction too. My camp is deep in the national forest away from the farms. I get action all the time. It's no joke, it's out there. It took me many years to see a mountain lion after first seeing the tracks. Even a 200lb cat is elusive.

The casting distance changes with heavier line test. With a boat that doesn't matter you just move the boat. Fishing from shore casting distance matters. I've watched the out of reach Lilly pads being torn up for months in ponds waiting patiently every morning for the bass to work his way to me. Trust me I just wait and watch and sharpen my hooks in my mind. Once there within the reach of my cast my bps topnocker is deadly. But with only 8lb test. I'm taking a chance.

Ul Saltwater?
We fished for snapper blue fish with tiny frozen shrimp. I wonder how the bigger blues would do with shrimp for bait. Bang scents come in shrimp too.

Monofilament Vs Copoly
I have tried different brands of copolymer lines. The difference I notice is some lines are a tad stiffer over Excalibur silver thread that makes my knot harder to tie. Yozuri hybrid, was a good copolymer line too.

Over Loading Spinning & Casting Reels Line Test
My older brother always had trouble with trilene line. I load my spinning reels with the reel spool and the spool of line face to face. This way twisting the line is avoided. With the casting reels the reel spool should be parallel with the spool of line. I put a telephone book inbetween the reel and spool of line to tention the line on the reel. I run the line through the pages. If the tention isn't enough I put more weight on the telephone book if it's small. Just a little tention will do. As long as the coils of line aren't loose. Of course I purchased one of those suction cup line spool holders to install line on the reels but it's MIA somewhere.

Avoiding Teeth
I use Mann's spinnerbaits with the eyelet. I tie on the steel leader with the locking snap swivel.

Avoiding Teeth
I enjoy what ever strikes and fights. Bass or chain pickerel it's all good. A big 32" pickerel actually ripped off my first successful spinnerbait. I need to use steel leaders.
