deep water help!!
If a front came in it could be just a wind change and it could shut them down as well. But the good thing is fish that are in deeper water are less affected by a front! I would have been very slow when fishing my baits and I would have gone to a C-rig and evan down size my bait some. I would look for deep water docks, deep rock bars, and look for were the bottom changes like, from rock to sand ect.I like small flats or step like drop offs in deep water. I guide at night and I don't fish water any shallower then about 15 ft. in the summer.Front or no front, just try fishing VERY slow and add some Megastrike or J J's sent to your baits. These sents can make a big differance! I hope I gave you some help! If you want PM me or just post your questions!

I also like the idea of the frogs or floating frogs. I will have to give that a try.

Favorite Carolina Rig Plastics
No one said anything about the old standby! The GRUB, like the Chompers or Kalins grubs or one I really like is the new Netbait twin tail grub ( 3 in. ).

Lizard vs. Worm
Another way to fish a lizard is to take a Zoom mini lizard on a drop shot. It is a killer!

Scum Frog Popper?
That is a pretty good drive for you from where you live! If you fish Delavan again I can send you to some real good spots and I would PM you the info. I would think the pads on the south west bay would be a good frog spot and the channel by the boat lanuch is great in the summer!

Scum Frog Popper?
That would br HWY 50 and yes it is Como. Where were you fishing on Delavan? Maybe we can change some info on good spots on Delavan! I guide at night out there and last year I had a 7lb.4oz. and a guy I took out had a 7 lb two weeks apart.

I feel your pain! I never went to SW before they closed, too bad they where a good store!

Pepper jigs
These are very good jigs and they go through weeds well. As for kickers anything goes! But I like the Netbait chunks.

Scum Frog Popper?
Furbit, how did you do on Delavan? We had a bad tournament, the frog bite was far and few, I had two blow ups but they were small blow ups if that means anything! We did not place so that makes two bad days this year! :'( :'( > > >

Scum Frog Popper?
X2 I can understand you guys still using scum frogs because they're cheaper or for nostalgia's sake but seriously spro frogs (or even bobby's perfect or swamp donkey's) are lightyears ahead of scum frogs. The improvement in hook up ratio from scum frogs to spro bronzeye's is huge and they cast much better as well. As I stated I do love the Spro Popper, but the reason to keep using Scum Frog poppers also is for me anyways, is that they flat out catch fish. They may be cheap, they may not have as good of hooks, they land upside down a lot of the time and they don't cast as well as the Spro, but they flat out catch fish. I am all for new and improved but kicking something that produces like the Scum Frog to the curb just does not make any sense. Like iceintheveins said, both. For the Spro I have had good luck with Leopard, Midnight Black and rain Forest Black. Green Tree is also good at times. For Scum Frog Poppers of which I have been using for years there is only two colors you need, Solid Black and Natural black/Green. These two colors have produced for me from IL to MN to OK to Texas, to Cali. This is not to say the other colors won't work for they will, but with these two I feel I am covered. If I were to buy a Spro popper to try, what one color would you should I get? :-? Oh, sorry I miss read your post, but actually any one of those colors should work for you, but if I did had to pick just one I would have to go for the Leopard. If there out of stock on the Leopard, Rain Forest Black would be my next choice followed by Midnight Black and then Green Tree. As for comments on the Spro Popper taking on water, this has not been an issue for me yet as far as it being a real problem. Yes it will at times take on water just like any frog I have tried, but it still stays on top. I do love the Scum Frog also but I have had a few sinkers right out of the package. The Spro JR I have had the same thing from time to time, but so far no sinkers with the Popper and I really hope I did not just jinks myself. HEHE As far as hookups go, I don't know what to say for so far the Spro Popper has been solid in that department. The Regular Spro Frog and JR are not as good as the Popper in this department IMO. In fact twice now I had blows up on the Spro Popper in which I was not paying attention and the bass hooked themselves. Can't get no better then that IMO. Actually I really believe it has more to do with the rod, reel and line one uses then the frog. Since I switched over to good 7ft MH to Heavy action rods, a high speed reel and heavy braid, hookups have not been a problem like in the past. Sure I still miss a few, but I would call that angler error, now that I use the right equipment for the job, instead of frog hooks error. BTW, I hope I am not coming off as a Mr. Know all for I am not a Know All. But put a frog, jig or spinnerbait on the end of my line and I have total confidence in how I go about picking and using such for when I get into something I love to do like fishing these baits I become a student of the highest degree, meaning I have spent hours upon hours upon years trying to master these things simply because I enjoy and love to do such. Put a Swimbait on the end of my line and I am in trouble for I don't have the hours put in I feel is necessary to be really good at something. So please don't take what I say about frogs as being cocky or the law or anything like that. I am just trying to help from my own experiences over 20 some years of bass fishing and sometimes I don't know just how to put things without coming off the wrong way. Thanks for all the help! I have a tournament this Sun. so I wanted to try the frog bite. I was in a tournament last Sun. and a guy took second fishing the Scum popper. I did go and buy both the Scum popper and the Spo popper in Leopard. So if this doesn't work I am coming after YOU! Just kidding ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thanks again I love topwater and I am pretty good at it so the frog poppers I should be ok with. I am useing a 7ft.6 in.Fenwick and a high speed Citca and 65 lb. braid Sufix.

Scum Frog Popper?
Hay guys, I have another question, the Scum popper I would think is very hard to cast, they are very lite on a baitcaster or do you fish them on spinning gear? I think the new Spro popper would be better to cast with.
