  1. I thought I responded once to this J but it must be stuck in cyber space. Thanks for touching on this for me. 8-) HoggBoss, fwiw I only respool once or twice a season. But then again, most here hit the water much more than I do.
  2. I guess I understand the memory retention but the first 50yds not being subject to the twisting that the usable line might be is what gets me. Put a short 3" stretch between your fingers and run it back and forth, it has the feel of a twist. I assume this is because it has become flat and this is the compaction that Kent is talking about, right?
  3. Looks like you were kept busy for a good share of the day anyways. Nice haul! 8-)
  4. I think I have been needing them for the last year or so. I either don't use glasses or switch to magnifiers for close stuff.
  5. Years ago a guy workin' for man dad told me to never fight fair, fight to win.
  6. Thanks, I think I get the picture now. 8-)
  7. Kent, are you saying that this portion is actually flat?
  8. So you spool up your baitcaster with your line of choice (anything but braid) and after a half season, full season, whatever, you strip it for replacement. Why does the closest line to the spool feel like it's twisted? Is it?
  9. I sat and stared at the pic to. Was gonna say the same thing until I read everyone elses post. I'm thinkin' it is him. he is from Michigan, right?
  10. "But on those ocassions I used The Force" Your words Raul; don't take this lying down!
  11. No need to be name calling yourself, it's just that respect is mutual. You'll get it when you give it; that's how life works. Just continue having fun but think of what you are saying and doing. It's all good microman. 8-)
  12. That thing has some girth, you feeding that thing protein powder or what?
  13. Sorry to here that man. I really respect that you're worried about grandma; that shows good character. Obviously you had a great relationship with your grandpa and someday when the hurt is a little less all the good memories will make you stronger. Watch over grandma and give her lots of hugs. It's never easy losing someone close, but years to come when your teaching someone or sharing knowledge with them that you learned from grandpa you'll be able to look to the sky and give him the thumbs up with a smile. Prayers to you and your family Rebel A.
  14. Crotchless edibles Burley......should keep your Road Trip cabin mates on guard for the duration.
  15. Two and I would not recommend them. One cost me 2 days in jail, and $7300 in his medicals and attorney fees. The second, within one week of the fight the other guy died in an auto wreck. I was accused by his wife of being the cause as he started having blackouts after the fight. My only saving grace was when, through investigation, it was determined that his blackouts had been around long before the fight. In the last 2 years in WI alone two have been tried and convicted for causing death in bar fight scenarios; both with single punches. The only humor I found in either case was in the first fight while I was on top of this guy smokin' him someone kept hitting me in the back of the head. It felt like they were slapping me. I realized what it was when the beer bottle finally broke. ;D FWIW Robert, I admire anyone involved with the arts. Obviously, your more able to relieve a situation without having to necessarily causing real harm. As a side note, I don't generally share these stories because I m not real proud of them. I only do so to show you what the ramifications could be.
  16. When I was a kid we went to Jim Peck's Wildwood Park and I remember feeding a fawn peanuts out of my hand. It was awesome until the fawn reared up and hooved me in the chest, knocking me on my adze. That's what I got for running out of peanuts. ;D
  17. They are basically a St Croix Premier, and agree that they are forward heavy. I also agree that fishing 3 or 4 hours with one isn't gonna send your arm home in a sling. PondHunter, he said they are tip heavy not heavy over all, but fwiw, there are lighter choices. I still like my Mojo though, it functions well and cosmetically it will look decent with just about any reel; except green for some reason.
  18. Any tips on how you get what you need from them. You know, good cop/bad cop, or do you just make small talk until they're comfortable spilling the beans. ;D
  19. Start with free beer!
  20. All my best to you and yours Ronnie, and good luck in your new life together. Make sure the bride gets kiss from the boys at Bass Resource. 8-)
  21. Oh, that's cute NA! ;D If you already have fishing gear of sorts, get a decent rain suit. As said earlier, make sure it's oversized a little. You know how it is up here in Wiscawcin, rain one minute and snow hittin' ya in the adze the next. Get the musky rig later.
  22. This is a bit of an overstatement, but treat that stuff like it's nitro. As said before, keep it out of the heat and when you do open it, open slowly; they will build pressure when it's hot out. Keep it out of the house if you can and do your best not to get any on your clothes. My roomate on the Road Trip last year spilled it in his tackle bag and then brought it into the room. Not good. I love my clear and red.
  23. Hot pink even, you da man! Debbie, this is a man that's truly in love. 8-)
