Deadliest catch - Capt. Phil Harris has passed away.
That's kinda what I was gettin' at. Phil had a tough love and made the kid work to get ahead. Give him an atta boy when he earned it and an arse chewing when he deserved it. He always kept the kid on his toes. He won't have that any more. I hope Phil was able to get to him enough to at least make him think once and a while.

Any of you ever been in a bar fight?
Years ago a guy who worked for my dad and spent his off time warming bar stools got in a good one. Another guy thought he was laughing at him got up and punched Gordie in the face. Gordie squirted in his pants and started laughing more. This made the guy madder so he hit Gordie again causing Gordie to squirt his pants more. The guy hit him 4 0r 5 times until Gordie was standing there with his pants completely pizzed full. And he was still laughing. Later that year he was backing out of a bar parking lot with his door open looking back. he fell out and ran his leg over. He's been sober for 25+ years now. ;D

Pickwick Road Trip
To anyone looking for a bed, send me a pm. We had full cabin until recently. Whether your solo or if there are two of you, let me know and I'll set you up. I know it's early, but May will be here quick enough. At this point I would like it if you were sure of attending before responding. Procrafter, A friend of Glenn and Keri is filling one of the beds. He's a great guy.

Don Barone story on ESPN
Just finished, guys take the time to read this. If your not familiar with DB's style, it might be a bit of a hard read at first, but Barone puts you in his head, he always does. Great job DB in bringing staff sergeant Brent Homan and his story to us. God bless Homan and all that serve!

plueger patriarch wide model
I initially bought the wide spool, handled it and decided to sell it off for the standard one. Once I had the standard spool I realized that the difference between the two was insignificant to me; both felt comfortable in my hand. The only difference to me would have been the extra line capacity which I don't need. I never did look at the weight difference.

Crappie n00b
For shallower depths try just about any small 1/16 or 1/8 oz. jighead with 4# test line set 18-24 inches under a bobber, cast and retrieve slowly. 1" mister twisters, pinkie style jigs, mimic minnows, etc. Go thru the pages of this Other Species forum and there are several crappie/panfish threads to look through. Good luck
