  1. Great fish and pics as usual Paul, still in the saddle I see!
  2. Give Borkum Riff Genuine a whirl. It probably doesn't tamp as well as peanut butter, but who knows. ;D
  3. Not bad, not bad........but can dem der drummer boys do this?
  4. Good luck BB, like you said, you are not the only one in that boat but I do feel your pain. Getting laid off or losing your job all together isn't fun but the worst of it is the unknown of being able to go back to work. I hope you and yours can make a go of it and recoup quickly.
  5. At least it was in his own nose. And for the record Burley, you don't know how right you were about my speech. I have a bad abscess the last couple of and can't say my Ts or Gs worth a hoot. I even had to repeat myself for the dentist today. ;D
  6. Boy, log off for just a few minutes and the back stabbing begins. ;D
  7. It's about time. I wouldn't get to comfortable just yet though. About the time we think spring is here, mother nature is gonna get her second wind. All in all we have had one of the more milder winters we've had in a while.
  8. Yeah, Really! J, I've seen one or two of these before but I don't remember coming across that smallie. What did that thing scale out at? Nice fish. 8-)
  9. I would totally agree, but on that light of line it is still worth a wow!
  10. Stuff like this reminds me of the guy who sticks his head in the gators mouth and....oops!
  11. If this graph is close to accurate, it is recurring history.
  12. Cool vid BB, the fish looked big enough to me. Surprised with that kinda day going not to see other boats.
  13. Being a smoker, I will take any scent over nothing. A lot of what I buy is based on whether I find it in coffee. Otherwise i have my JJ's. I don't know exactly what the fish think of Camel lights but I would imagine they're smarter than me! ;D
  14. I'm curious, in your first post you ask that the reader not get defensive at your proposed changes and in your post to Catt's reply You start out one sentence by Saying "Don't try and say Fork is spitting out fish like it did in the 90's." Now before you get defensive, this is only a question; why tell someone to not get defensive and then later on intimate that you don't want to hear their arguments? I do not fish these lakes and claim no expertise, I am just trying to understand if your looking to make sure everyone knows your right or if your looking for other constructive opinion on Fork.
  15. The Wisconsin is only about a minute away, I know where your lunch hours would be spent.
  16. Haha, your telling me that all them hogs you and your buds were pullin' in left and right last year was because you weren't into or couldn't fish? ;D ;D

Speed if you are referring to my comments I was talking about accidental discharges not missfires. The older models with no crossbolt safety, accidently snag the hammer on clothing, brush, etc and ultimately walking around with the hammer fully cocked. As far as the side or top ejection, yeah, it's not huge deal, just that if you have one that's kinda ticky sometimes the spent shell will fall back into the receiver and jam once and a while. Now that I'm thinking of it, Winchester may have even tweaked their receivers so even though they eject from the top, they do it at a bit of an angle because of scope issues.

It's side port ejection versus the Winchester's roof top makes it more user friendly for mounting scopes and in my opinion the action is also smoother than the Winchester's. Until Winchester integrated a cross bolt safety a few years ago, that made for a great selling point for Marlin as they already had one. Up to that point the Winchester lever gun was responsible for a lot of accidental discharges.
  19. You said it brother!
  20. There is a hammer made specifically for popping out leads in live ammo. Give it to someone who reloads, chance are they have the hammer. I'm not sure who else but I know RCBS has one. It's a two sided hammer; the round is inserted in one end and you smack the hammer on a hard surface. The inertia pulls the lead out.
  21. I can only imagine what his tip up was spooled with, #4? Maybe 6? Wow!
  22. Nice little reel, I have one that I retired and sits in the china hut on display. A lot of variables as to what it may be worth. What shape is it in, what year, do you still have the box/case and papers? They can be had from anywhere around $50 up to a couple of hundred. If it were in good shape I would keep it and tell your buddy to find one on e-bay. They can be had.
