A bit off topic, but at last year's road trip we went into town to eat. One of the cars that left the lodge at the same time showed up 15 minutes after the rest of us; the drive was 7-8 miles. When I asked where they were, they said they followed the directions/route that they downloaded to their phone. When they showed me the route that got laid out for them I just shook my head, We had one right and 2 left turns to the restaurant. They had at least 10.

If everyone were left to the same advantages or disadvantages, it would be skill and knowledge putting fish in the boat. If one of them boats had SI as an advantage, the angler(s) still needs to have the skill and the knowledge to boat the fish. It's a tool and doesn't guarantee anything unless you know how to catch the fish in the first place. I'm screwed either way! ;D

Same here. When my grandpa died I stayed with my grandma for a few months. About a week in I woke up one morning about 2 and grandpa was standing there in the doorway. I sat up, rubbed the sleep outta my eyes enough to wake up and he was still there. Neither of us spoke but we stared at each other for about 3-4 seconds, and then he just turned and walked down the hall. No drugs or alcohol involved; it scared the hell out of me!

Skeety, not to detract from your arguments, but I saw this coming from your first post. I think your heart is in the right place but you posed your ideas wrongly, putting some on the defense rather than just asking for their thoughts first. Catt, for instance, is known for great discussion on topics like this and I learn a lot just sitting back and reading these threads. I don't doubt for a minute your personal experience and think you make valuable points but Catt has been around for a loooooooong time and imo has been an asset to many here through his experience and advice. That said, the fact that you want people to be aware of your concerns shows your commitment to the sport also. You obviously have the passion and want to make things better for the fish and fishing. I just feel that if your original post had been more questioning than authoritative that this whole thread may have been more productive. Keep up the initiative, guys like you and others involved in this thread are what makes things better for the fish and fishing. 8-)

I had a Winch on a mhm 7' and it was a great set up. I think you should be okay with a mm but wonder if there is the backbone needed for heavier or deep diving cranks.

1/4-5/16-3/8 oz If I did more river fishing or fished bigger waters than what I do I'd maybe have heavier.

I remember him being funny years ago, then when this started I began watching him and Conan just to compare. Things obviously changed, I don't find any of his one bits funny. I think NBC is going to regret it and Conan will get satisfaction. My guess is that Leno is as full of himself as Letterman and could have left it alone; he has/had the clout. L- I was really looking forward to being down there this year, things just changed so quickly. What I didn't realize is what I was truly missing by not being in your cabin. I've been told you do excellent cleaning and cooking, I just wonder how you are at laundry? All joking aside, guys (or gals), Procrafter is a friend that Glenn and Keri had to the road trip last year and he's one hell of a guy. He is staying in a cabin that I have held but now I and others from the cabin can't go. If you are going FOR SURE let Long Mike, or myself know and we can set you up with cabin beds. Just be advised that these cabins have no electronic security and Mike, RW, Burley, Speed, PK and others will be your neighbors for the week. You've been warned!

Obviously you got a hold of a bad one, but I wouldn't quit so easily on a real that has the same basic components and make up of it's well established brothers.
