  1. Vinny, here's a direct link to TW for Eakin's jigs: http://www.***.com/descpageJIGSJEWEL-JBEJ.html Nice musky in your avatar BTW! 8-)
  2. That's the breaks Burley, that deal with your bud's phone along with some other recent stories makes me think I am going to get a lanyard for my phone.
  3. Now Dave, that is a great story! And like Big O said, having the family around for your nice catch is the ultimate. Congratulations! 8-) Shimmy, that vid made me laugh for about 1 min and then, like you, I started getting frustrated. In the end I was wondering if grandma was even going to let that beast go.
  4. Cool report, looks like mumma isn't afraid to give em' the smack down either! 8-)
  5. Aside from some Mississippi/Lake Michigan and a few other seasonal restrictions, this is a general map of Wisconsin's bass fishing zone. Notice the northern zone barbless hook rule, I'm not sure if there is a huge benefit to the fish or not. :-/
  6. Chris, it's just taking the time to smell the roses, everybody has their own reason for being out there. Kinda like taking a drive on some backroad you've never been on or going for a walk in the woods with the 22 or your camera. I don't tournament fish and all the power to them that do, but sittin' in a boat and just kickin' back, watching everything around you is awesome on a fishing trip. Otters, eagles, fish rolling, deer walking the ridges, and thinking of the ones who aren't with you anymore.....it all makes for a great afternoon. Don't go gittin' all old and stuff at 45, I'm 43 and have been feeling like this since I can remember. Too many people don't take the time to notice who or what is around them and miss out on some great moments. 8-)
  7. New rod and reel, nice way to break it in. 8-)
  8. Sweet little deal there. 8-)
  9. What about that dark sedan parked up the street from you with the two guys wearing shades? 8-)
  10. A couple of years ago they did the same thing with the checks they sent out. I never figured that out either. :
  11. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm thinking we are good to go. Just waiting to see where the dust settles from the road trip.
  12. For a lot of the guys on the BR forum this may not be your first dog and pony show but it was for me last year. Aside from intentionally making a person not feel welcome I don't know what could have spoiled it for me. Sure there are a couple of things which can be or were inconveniences, but looking at the big picture I can't think of anything that would make me not want to go again. I had some priceless laughs with some who are not going this year. But if I were able to go myself this year, there would still be more new faces and great BR members to meet. I actually got to be pretty good friends with one ugly mug, I mean nice gentleman from Bone Gap, Il. Sorry to here that Glenn and Keri aren't going to make it but there will still be plenty of fun and memories to be had. heck, The group may be small this year but look at all the stories you few will have that the many of us can only read about..... 8-) FWIW, Keri is a sweet heart and Glenn's okay; he just needs to work on holding his liquor. Getting sloshed and swinging from the chandeliers is a little childish.
  13. Here's page of addys that I found while back while going through a tackle box that was left to me. Lot's of leg work finding some of this stuff, but it's neat knowing the history. Maybe it'll help. http://www.joeyates.com/weblinks.htm Good Luck! 8-)
  14. Weren't the only differences between the old SX and the new one purely cosmetic? Bent handle/drag star and some red added? I think the magnetic brakes and the spool were tweaked.
  15. Isn't that supposed to be diet soda, that's usually how it goes. LOL
  16. Outstanding, nice catch man! 8-)
  17. In my soph/jr year one of my friends started calling me BA and I didn't have a clue what he was talking about until a couple of others started doing it too. Then they explained to me that I was part of "their" A-Team. Told 'em they were idiots and needed to get lives..... I pity the fools!
  18. Wow, make up for a little lost time Hawk? Nice fish. 8-)
  19. Seems like a humble, down to earth guy. Good vid. 8-)
  20. firefightn15 replied to Kanbass's topic in Introductions
    Welcome aboard Wayne. 8-)
  21. Welcome to the BassResource family Mike!
  22. Welcome to the BR family! 8-)
  23. Who would have thought?
  24. The man does have a way with words. DB has the most unique way of putting thoughts to paper that I have ever seen. Whether they are observations, tributes, or experiences, his writing always leaves you thinking about life; your not just left with passing thoughts. My condolences to Kerry Short
