Weird Band Names
If you're refering to these guys, the time would be about right. I think Joe was killed in '88-89. Joe Generra released an album last year, and AFAIK is still alive. Dave Schulthise committed suicide in 2004. Metaphysical Graffiti wasn't released until '89, and they toured non stop after that album was a hit. http://www.fistolo.com/Catalog.html - third album down. Oops, I meant my truck driver Joe was killed in 88-89. Thanks for short bio though. Always wondered how far these guys went.

Weird Band Names
The Dead Milkmen The same day I heard of them, the guy I had driving my milk truck got pinned between the truck and milkhouse and was crushed. Never found a soft spot in my heart for that group.

I was a little kid in the early and mid seventies when I watched. Does anyone know about which years he was on?

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
I got excited yesterday when my boss told me I was going back to work in a couple of weeks. Been layed off long enough, that I didn't want to go back to work for a week and then go on vacation. Didn't figure that would look good. He remembered that I talked to him about this last fall and said all was good and not to worry. All I need to do is catch some fish for him. Whew! Boy, there's alot of coves and backwaters on that thing isn't there?

The world of Virgil Ward (fishing show)
A few months ago someone did a thread on favorite fishing shows and after several posts I was the only one to bring up Virgil Ward. He was my fishing hero as a kid. I just figured no one cared for him.

pond fishing?
I googled your Ontario fishing regs, and it says if your under 18, you don't need a license but need to carry your birth certificate for proof. Says your bass season opens the 4th Saturday in June for your zone (17). Then I googled private pond fishing in Ontaio, and according to what I read, none of this applies on private water. Happy fishing!

reel mindboggling
I am sure that you have read enough to know that just about every brand mentioned has some great reels. It might feel overwhelming, but honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with what ever you chose. Every reel I've seen here @ the $100-120 mark seems to be a good choice. There are others that come in at the $75-100 range that alot of the guys here swear by. Honestly go to your local shop and handle a few that you have become familiar with here on the forum, buy the one you like, and move along from there. Buy the combo if it feels right, but in my opinion your going to be happier buying the rod and reel individually. Not much help, but good luck.

Values for used firearms
For what it's worth, keep the Rossi and come up with other money for the shotgun. That's a nice little .22
