  1. I would try using buzzbaits, poppers, or even spinner baits for this situation.
  2. Try a rapala broken back and twitch it instead of crankin'. I would fish a weedless trick work with no weight. They are very sleek through weeds
  3. I just got another one because it was on sale for 19.99 at wally world. Im not sure how a fast tip feels but I do know a good rod and for 20$ the pro lite is where its at
  4. Im thinking about ordering this as my next rod (curado). Im looking for an all around general purpose bass rod will this be sufficient?
  5. I have the lite pro which seems to be the same as the ugly stick intercostal. I have had no problem feeling bites on this rod when fishing with soft plastics.
  6. i fish em carolina or texas. as above poster mentioned when fishing in thick pads or grass they work great weedless w/o any weight.
  7. how do you keep the hooks from penetrating the mouse body preventing hook sets. All of my mouses do this. The legs of that lure I have some of those and they work but I just hate how it feel on the rod and the action it makes. I prefer scum frogs but they dont seem to last more than one outing
  8. Bass are very sensitive to light. During the day they are going to be closer to the bottom. During the night they will hit anything making noise on top. Stick to top water baits such as buzz baits, jitterbugs, popper, etc... Black works good for very dark nights but if the moon is shinning give it something to reflect off of like silver, gold, or chartreuse
  9. Could be just one of those things thats not attracting bites right now. I find some of my lures to not work at all for a period of time and then one day I start tearin' them up. If im not catchin anything on one type of lure I usually just dont bother with it too much and move on to somethin getting bites.
  10. If you replaced with the biggest battery like you say then that just doesn't seem right. I am only going on the experience I have had with electric motors nothing as big as 55lb thrust
  11. Abu Garcia....whatever you can find under 50$ Every spinning real from Abu I have used worked flawlessly and I have had 3 over the past couple years. The only one that I dont have anymore was stolen from a friends house.
  12. I prefer one type of rod for all bass fishing. I wasn't catching anything too big this summer so I used 10lb but stepped up to 12lb after losing what would have been my biggest largemouth of the summer. Can somone explain what a jigging setup would be and what are the reason that this setup performs better than alternate setups?
  13. def. not right unless that motor is just very enneficient and power hungry. what kind of speeds are you running it at and do you know the amp rating for the motor and also the amphrs of the battery?
  14. club is formed and has been around for awhile. We placed 8th in the Under Armor Collegebass National Championship
  15. Hey man I am planning on joining too. We should meet up sometime
  16. Try a popper, jitterbug, buzzbait, and frog. Black for sure
  17. maybe somone is sealing all of them before you get to em? just a thought
  18. I was jerkin it and Bam. You should seen the splash it made
  19. nice fishing attire....
  20. Ive seen people pull 6 and 7 pound bass out of my pond and personally have pulled a couple 5-6 lb'ers. When Im fishing I always see smaller bass crusing around but never any large ones. Is it possible that my pond has any large bass and if so how would I go about locating them?

    War d**n Eagle!
  22. I would say because it is the human nature to be a predator and not many things in life allow people to experience this anymore
  23. auburn has a fishing team......wha wha what
  24. ehh no beer sorry. If you come fishing with me next week Ill be sure to have some. Speaking of fishing next week, I have been reading up a lot on largemouth and devised an attack plan. I will start out the early morning switching between a green buzzbait and a green floating frog. The afternoon calls for a texas rig and maybe a carolina rig if it gets too hot and nothing is biting in the shallows. The evening I will be fishing a floating worm along with the buzzbait again. How does this sound and any tips for small pond early season bass fishing in SC?
