yo-zuri hybrid and froggin
This is simple GO TO BRAID!!! The frogs like Spro and Bobby's Perfect frog need a good hard hookset and Braid can give you that even from a mile away!! I can't stress this enough I would put all my fishing gear on the line that your hook up ratio is double with braid over any other fluro, hybrid, or mono. The braid will also slice threw the pads often times resulting in you landing more fish.

Flourocarbon Line: P-Line vs. Trilene 100%
I've had some really bad luck with Trilene 100% fluro. I bought a couple spools to try out mainly because it was so highly recommended by several members. Unfortunately all they had was 12# and nothing higher. I do a ton of jig fishing now so I would have preferred a little higher pound test but I figured if Jimzee can haul in a 50inch Muskie with it then it should be able to handle my needs. Well I was wrong! I never had so many breaks off in my life. It was like 8lb line not 12lb. Note this wasn't a "new" to fluro type situation I've fished Seaguar Invisx, Seaguar Red Label, Vanish, and Cabela's fluro. Trilene was very manageable and beat everything but InvisX in this department. The biggest problem and one I can't forgive was break offs. There was just to many of them and I'm sure getting a higher pound would help greatly but 12# line should be able to handle a good hook set. Maybe my first spool was bad but I tied a careful knot and checked my line often. I should also note the same problem struck my pops when he spooled up some.

My first real powerfishing experience
A couple things Fat-G. First I'm glad you had a good time! Second there is also nothing wrong with fishing a worm or a jig for that matter in fact you can power fish with both. I sure hope as a guest of a friend you didn't cast over him or otherwise ruin his day. Also powerfishing isn't just "fishing fast". It's about locating a pattern eliminating water and only focusing on productive water. That may be the first pole on docks next to deeper watter or it could be a rock bank that has patches of grass here and there. So you then only focus on the grass spot after catching a couple fish off them. Anyway if you don't have a boat I'd talk to your friend find out what you did that he didn't like and try to work it out. It sounds like he has some boats available and possibly some good water as well.

and she's only 7!
Tell her we all said congrats and save some fish for us! ;D

Possible new PB
Nice fish, and most of the time it's impossible to tell the size from a photo. I've seen fish caught that I swear were going to weigh 7 or 8 and they barely hit six. On the other side I've had fish I would swear would only hit 4 but end up being over five. That was a big healthy fish and it looks like it could still get bigger. So congrats on the fish and go get another one!!

nonboaters vs. boaters in a club
Our club ups the fish limit and we fish as a team. We also usually just talk it out and do our best to even it out. With that said if somebody is forced to fish alone we go to single fisherman limits. Your partner is always done by a draw except for the single buddy tourney and the one show up event you get.

2009 Central WV Marathon (photos added)
Make sure to hold the new boat close to the camera to make it look bigger. Kind of like this.

13.9lber!!!!!
I honestly have no idea. There viewed around here the way carp are and I was simply fishing a island with a roadbed. The area was stacked with fish. My dad had just caught a white bass a couple casts before the drum. I know some friends of mine who nailed s ton of drum at a power plant lake this winter with spinnerbaits.

Deal or no deal?
This is a great low priced combo. My dad has one and loves it. I've used it some and was very impressed with it.

My new PB!!!
Well done that's a HAWG!!!

13.9lber!!!!!
Gizzard shad survive just fine in large numbers but threadfin shad usually can't make it threw our winters. So our bass club in combination with the DNR and the Wildlife Refuge stock several thousand threadfin each spring and then they spawn several times. So then the lake ends up with just tons of them. I'm talking so many in the fall that I swear you could walk across the shallow coves on them. This is really nothing more then a supplemental feeding program, kind of like what some lakes due with trout. A decade or so ago it had a bad fish kill and this was one of the programs that was brought in to help get the lake back up to what it was. It's now producing allot of big fish for anglers. My dad and I could have easily weighed in 20lb stringers on two of our trips this week. Despite all this I still hate this lake!!! Your always fishing in 2ft of water and no I'm not kidding. So far our best pattern has been main lake banks with grass and rock that is next to deepER water. I'm talking a three to four feet drop is HUGE! We had to LOL one morning because we were basically sight fishing in the grass. The bass would literally be moving the grass and we would flip at them and catch them.

13.9lber!!!!!
13.9lb DRUM that is! Now you know how I felt. ;D As you can see it crushed my Red Eye Shad. The lake my dad and I are pre fishing for a tourney is stocked with huge amounts of shad and it just ends up being feed for everything.

Bassresource Ragetail Marketing Machine?
Not only that SPEEDBEAD. but I think the rage tail baits at least in the craws have a distinct better action. Not only do they flap in my opinion in a better way (they seem to kick at LRLRLR pace where net baits just flap). They also stand up in the water really well where netbaits claws tend to sink to the bottom.

Bassresource Ragetail Marketing Machine?
Let me add Big-O your presence on the Roadtrip simply made it for some of us. There was hardly a moment he wasn't surrounded by fellow anglers. This wasn't because he paid anybody or was handing baits out from time to time. It was because he was a great fellow angler who had a ton of stories that made you laugh your *** off. You could ask the guy anything and he was straight up with you and you could just see his passion for fishing. There was even a time when Procrafter and myself didn't have a ride and Big-O got on the phone and started trying to get us one. We were able to get it worked out with LongMke in the end, but it goes to show you what a class act he is. What does this have to do with his baits" EVREYTHING! This guy worked his tail off until he got it right! The Rage craw and Space Monkey have been killer baits for me this year. I pay the 6$ a pack because no bait on the market has got the action down like those baits have.

A month of fishing in pictures.
Well we love and hate our boat LOL. While growing up my dad had a very nice wide john boat that was pretty stable. He sold it when I was about 15 and we both got away from fishing on a regular basis. Then my sisters boyfriend out of blue decides to buy a boat and wants to start bass fishing. So we've added some cash and upgrades for the boat plus he gets to use my truck to haul it and we use the boat when ever we want to. In fact it sits in our garage 90% of the time now. We're taking our time and really planning out our boat purchase right now. We either plan to buy a SUPER WIDE john boat on the used market to fix up or possibly financing a larger tracker. BTW Our dog loves to eat fish and hates Lilly pads as you can see in this vid.

which rod from tacklewarehouse
Add just a little cash and for just under a 100$ you can get a LTX carrot Stix from them.

A month of fishing in pictures.
I believe every fish was either caught on the spro frog or a jig with Rage Craw. Also my dad isn't great with the frog yet so if he's holding the fish it was caught on a Jig with Rage craw.

Re: Let the Rage Tails be unveiled!
I watched the KY Lake weigh in on ESPN and and several pro's were giving props to this new thumper worm SK had. I thought that's Big-O worm!!!

What Colors and When to Use Them!
Clear water? Well let me point out one thing that can go against the conventional wisdom of lighter colors in clear water. Right now we have a ton of sunfish running around by grass. They are Black and blue with a glowing chartreuse tail. So a black and blue jig with a Okeechobee colored Rage Craw with it's ends dipped in chartreuse JJ's has been killer. So in clear water I like to think forage not necessarily lighter colors. BTW right now we have about 7ft visibility in most places.

Flurocarbon prodicament
I recently bought some seaguar red label 20# test for flipping and pitching and it has good sensitivity but it's fairly hard to manage. Part of that I'm sure is the 20# test but I certainly prefer invisx so far. I have a couple spools of trilene fluro and it seems fairly sensivitive and managable. The only issue I have right now is I was forced to buy 12lb because they were out of anything higher (would have preferred 15lb) and my local lake is getting VERY CLEAR anyway. So I've had a few line breaks on hook sets and what not and that doesn't make me happy.

Big Carp On 6 LB Line
Yeah the Carp and Catfish are going crazy right now. I caught about a 4 pound cat the other day on a swimbait!

Can I put JJ's in a spray bottle?
Seems to me, he didnt ask about Carolina Lunker Sauce. : Simp, where are you storing the JJ's at home? Usually in a fridge or left in the cooler until the next days fishing. By the way RW we like our JJ's strong. We go as far as to re dipping this stuff. I know it still smells but I swear I'll go without a bite for a couple hours and then re dip and BAM!!
