  1. I had doubts too. Bought some last week at Academy. They won me 3rd in my last tourney. Great colors. I will be using their products in the future. Those bluegill swimbaits are 9 bucks and they look absolutely sick!
  2. SAC2. Mottfia (another member here) and I have picked up on our team where our founder left off. Feel free to PM me if you need details or advice.
  3. Reminds me of one of my favorite songs, Brad Paisley's, "Time Well Wasted." I could've been workin' overtime Or at home tryin' to make that truck run right Instead of wadin' out in that stream All day long barely catchin' a thing Just me and dad I'm glad he talked me in to that
  4. Nice fish. Totally jealous. ;D
  5. My personal best LM. Not exactly sure on the weight. I was more worried about handling her quickly for pics and getting her back in the water.
  6. I didn't even check the articles, I just searched the boards. Thanks for the tip.
  7. I am looking to fish the co-angler side of the BFL next year and I just want to make sure I am practicing good co-angler etiquette. I have fished in a co-angler spot here at Troy University, just wondering how much tackle is too much, rod numbers, etc... I definitely don't want to tick anyone off, I'm sure there are some guys here with experience on this topic, so all input is much appreciated. By the way I usually take 5 rods, is that too much for co-angling?
  8. A profession is defined as: a : a calling requiring specialized knowledge and often long and intensive academic preparation b : a principal calling, vocation, or employment. So to be a PROfessional by definition: 1 a : of, relating to, or characteristic of a profession b : engaged in one of the learned professions c (1) : characterized by or conforming to the technical or ethical standards of a profession. So by definition... everyone is somewhat right, but even if I fished the Elite Series, FLW, BFL, or won a classic, angler of the year etc. I would never consider my self a total professional... I feel we all continuously evolve as anglers. We are always learning something new. So I am shooting for semi-pro. ;D
  9. paca chunk all the way!
  10. Great worm. I remember my uncle having those in his wooden boat, I never fished em' though. I am probably missing out on a great experience.
  11. Welcome to the site. Enjoy!
  12. Welcome, from Southeast Alabama!
  13. Make the call man, don't assume there is nothing you can do. That's just not right.
  14. How soon after the strike are you setting the hook. Snatching too quickly can pull the frog away to soon. Letting them take it by a 1 mississippi 2 mississippi 3 mississippi count then pull back. Just a suggestion.
  15. The way you present yourself is of the up-most importance. IF you are sponsored you become the face of the company, YOU are what their consumers see. So it is unlikely for a company to sponsor you right now. (not trying to be rude) I'd start off (if you are serious about it) with small companies, maybe someone you have worked for or someone you know. Get them to help you, but one thing you need to insure that everything you put out is quality. Even casual forums like this get views from people who could be potential sponsors, so be on your, "A-Game." This means making sure you sound professional, look professional, and use correct grammar. Sponsors do not like having their name misspelled in the public eye. To conclude, no one just starts out with sponsors, you have to get out and do the work. I would worry about winning tournaments/catching fish before I look into sponsors. I am 22, sponsor-less, fishing collegiate tournaments for Troy University. Good luck to you. I hope this helps.
  16. Couple of things here. ( I searched this topic with no results if it is a repeat please send me in the right direction) Here we go. How often do you respool your reels with line? When you do respool do you fill the spool to capacity or a little/lot less? Thanks for your input Elite Image

  19. Nice fish, love the details. Senkos are great. I remember almost immediately upon joining the site, I asked how to catch the stubborn bass in my pond because nothing worked. Everyone recommended the the senko. I tried it... loved it. It became my claim to fame on the Troy U bass Team on the wacky-rig. I have learned alot from this forum and a love for the senko-style baits is one bit of it.
  20. It's hard to always go to class. We have a great multitude of lakes at our fingertips. Jordan (my favorite) is coming up as our last qualifier. Then it's own to the collegiate trail. I love our location. I grew up fishing Columbia Lake on the Hootch, which is actually holding big heads right now. Its not SUPER close to anyone but a little drive is just part of the fishing experience to me ;D.
  21. That is about as perfect as a big bass can be. That thing is absolutely gorgeous!
  22. A dead on pattern. Unfortunately I was fishing against you. I can't skimp on the three chunks I caught, they were healthy hearty fish. I just made the unwise decision to stick with a bait too long >. Great job out there. I look forward to Lake Jordan next month. ;D
